Paddy said a quick "hello" to Sam () before she noticed Eirik () waving her over. "Looking forward to this workshop?" she asked but was distracted by a vibrant green bird sitting on the head of a student () who was standing next to him. "What kind of bird is he?" she asked, wondering if she maybe should've brought her pets along to the workshop, even though they weren't all behaving themselves.

(OOC: not sure why, but Paddy is getting really distracted laughs I think she's just looking forward to the workshop, so she seems a little scatty :P)

Keet turned to Paddy and grinned "Oh, this is Disco, my fwooper." Disco looked at Paddy and attempted a chirp, but because of the silencing charm, nothing came out. "He still forgets sometimes that he can't do that! I'm Keet, it's nice to meet you."

"I've heard of Fwoopers but never seen one before, he looks stunning," she replied. "I'm Paddy," she added, wondering if Disco liked being scratched on the back of his head, like her Barn Owl did.

"I'm a bit surprised," the boy said softly, "sometimes animals don't like me much. Dogs and I typically don't get on well. I 'ope I don't disappoint ya." Magnus watched as Eirik became acquainted with the new girl and her amazing pet. As another friend popped in, Magnus waved to Paddy. "'Llo, Paddy. 'Ow are you? Pets giving you a rough go eh? I left Freddy at 'ome this term. 'E's staying with a llama 'erd." Speaking of pet management, he saw Sam get pelted with fur and bones and struggled not to laugh. "'Ey, Sam! I'll be 'aving me 'ouse elf pop round soon. She's ever so sweet. Bless er we don't give 'er a lot of work. Mum thinks you should work for yourself and Dad's well, 'e's part nymph so 'e's not too keen on 'ouse elves even though technically Mimsy is 'is."

"Aww no worries, Disco is quite friendly with almost everyone" Keet assured Magnus.

She smiled at Paddy "Thank you! He does have lovely plumage. Fwoopers aren't super common, since you have to be careful with how you keep them" Keet replied. "Do you have any pets, Paddy?"

"But I gotta be careful, after all, I am a werewolf and every animal is different." He said it naturally but inside his heart did a backflip. Every time he told someone, there was always the chance they wouldn't like him. It was something he was used to.

"No doubt you're an expert at silencing charms now," Paddy replied with a grin. "I have three pets," she continued, "a Barn Owl called Mouse, a rat called Rodney, and a Samoyed puppy called Snowden. I only discovered this week that Snowden was charmed to remain as a puppy.... I thought it was a bit strange that she wasn't growing much!"

As Magnus voiced Paddy's own fears about Disco's reaction to a werewolf, she waited to see Keet's reaction to Magnus' admission before saying anything else.

In response to Merlin's question Aria shook her head, "I have not seen a fairy yet, but I really do want to." Are smiled at Merlin as he took his snake out, "that is so cute that he curls up around your wand." Aria commended.

After the invitation was open to him, Dax took many pumpkin pasties and ate them up. 'Thank you,' he mind spoke to Magnus, 'these are so delicious and one of my favorite pasties.'

Aria noticed Erik and watched him closely as he conversed with her brother, Magnus. After being introduced Aria smiled, "It's a pleasure to meet you." She grinned shyly at the boy and looked over his should to make sure that Dax was behaving himself. She pointed over to Dax, who was stuffing his beak with another pumpkin treat, "That is Dax, my mini snowy owl griffin. Dax goes almost everywhere with me," Aria smiled and shook her head as she watched Dax and then looked back at Erik.

Aria listened to Erik and Magnus chatted, feeling slightly awkward and not knowing quite what to say. After Erik left she decided to go sit down near Dax and make sure he knock the table over on accident.

After taking her seat she noticed Paddy and Sam and waved to them both.

"I heard there are some living in the Forbidden Forest and..." he whispered. "I'm so going to find them, can't wait! So many wonders in there." Merlin smiles at her comment and adds. "It's not cute when you need to use it but he won't let go."

Merlin noticed a girl with a fabulous bird and he quickly excused himself to go see it. He approached without thinking much if he was interrupting her conversation but the bird caught his attention. "Hello, I'm Merlin." He shook her hand enthusiastically. "I'm sorry if I'm rude but I think your fwooper is stunning! I have seen another one before but was orange in color, I think green is much more beautiful." Merlin suddenly realized he was speaking very fast and was not letting the girl say a word. "Sorry, I get too excited with animals." He scratched his head while looking down a feeling a bit embarrassed. "This is Thunder my snake!" He pretty much put it in her face and she backed out a little. "He doesn't bite, at least so far. I apologize again, I'm not good meeting people."

Keet looked a touch surprised for a moment, but then smiled warmly at Magnus, "Well, Disco is an excellent judge of character. He's never been wrong about anyone." Disco bobbed his head cheerfully in agreement.

"Yes, I have had plenty of practice with them now! It served me well on my Charms exam," Keet replied to Paddy, laughing. "Oh, your pets sound wonderful! How unusual, does Snowden still chew up everything like a puppy? If so, that must require a lot of patience on your part," she grinned.

Keet was caught off-guard for a moment, but returned Meriln's handshake happily. "That's all right, it's nice to meet you Merlin, I'm Keet. Yes, they come in several colors! One day I would like to get a license to breed fwoopers as pets. Not many people know that they make such great companions." She glanced at Thunder, "What a magnificent snake! I love animals as well, although I have a particular fondness for birds. It's no problem, I am usually pretty shy about meeting new people. Disco is a good icebreaker." Keet smiled a bit awkwardly as Disco did another dance... he was excited to meet all of these new people.

Paddy smiled, feeling a little more relaxed, "Snowden chews everything in sight when she's bored, so I have to charm my homework to stop her chewing on the parchment. Usually she's not too badly behaved though, it just seems like they all want to act up today." Looking at Disco bobbing his head, she thought for a moment before adding, "I've got to be careful around new animals too - so far none have had a really negative reaction to me being near them, but you never know.... given that I'm also a werewolf. I'm still surprised that Snowden accepts me to be honest."

Keet gasped, but giggled a bit "Oh dear, she tries to chew up your homework? That has to be frustrating. I'm glad to hear that you found a way to save it though, you must have gotten good at those charms too!" She smiled, "Well, it looks like Disco likes you too!" Disco danced happily, watching Paddy. "It seems like there are quite a few animals that feel the same way Disco does."

"I'm still learning those charms," she laughed, "so far I can protect half a piece of parchment, but not the entire thing. I hate having to admit the werewolf thing, but I don't want to risk someone's pet having a problem with that, and the owner not realising why."

Paddy spotted Aria () by the food table and waved her over.

"It must be a tricky charm to learn! I have never had to use it, thankfully. Disco and my owl Ophelia don't really bother with my homework," Keet giggled. "Aww, it must be a difficult thing to confide to new people, but you shouldn't have to feel badly about it." She glanced around, seeing that Paddy had waved someone over, and smiled at Aria ().

"You've got your work cut out keeping on top of that silencing charm though," Paddy replied, "so it's probably a good thing that they don't like to nibble on your homework as well. Everyone here's been really accepting, but my previous school was full of people who just took the mickey out of my fur all the time."

Merlin felt more relaxed after Keet replied to his imprudence and apologized to Paddy and Magnus for his sudden explosion of excitement. "Sorry, I was a bit out of place." He smiled in a funny way but kept start petting Disco after hiding Thunder on his neck. "He doesn't seem to mind I touched him, is it ok?" But he was simply staring at the bird like he was in love. "It's so pretty, take good care of Disco."

"That's true, I am lucky that they don't really want to have anything to do with my homework,"Keet said, smiling at Disco. "I am so sorry to hear that," she replied, frowning sadly. "I have endured some bullying myself, other students saying that my fwooper had driven me mad, or calling me a feather brain. The majority I have met have been very kind though!"

Keet smiled at Merlin, "It's all right, Disco likes to have his head scratched." Disco dipped his head so that it was easier for Merlin to pet him. "I will definitely take good care of him, he's a special birdie."

Merlin pet some more the fwooper and left not without saying goodbye. "It was a pleasure to meet you Keet, I will go get something to eat before this workshop starts." He then looked at Paddy. "It was good to see you again, sorry I interrupted like a lunatic." He laughed and waved goodbye as he walked toward the food table. He smiled when he saw there were vegetarian options and grabbed a pumpkin juice along with an apple pie to make his sweet tooth happy, then went to sit back to his pillow.

Keet smiled and waved to Merlin, "It was so nice to meet you Merlin, enjoy your snack." She gave Disco a cuddle and scratched his head gently. "Good bird," she whispered, "you've been very social today!" Disco gave a little yawn, and tucked his head under his wing for a nap.

Merlin's comment about his snake not detaching from his wand made Aria laugh out loud. "I bet that would be quite annoying!"

Seeing Paddy wave her to come over helped Aria feel like she could join the two girls who were sitting and chatting together. "Hi-ya Paddy and Keet!" Aria said, bouncing down onto a fluffy pillowed seat. She looked at Disco who had just made the cutest yawn expression and thought that he was the cutest little bird. "He is quite adorable, just look at him all tucked up like that," Aria commented out loud.
