I'm another person on this thread, who can't wait for the zombie, kissing, biting, naked holiday...why has it not started yet!

Yeah it was kind of laggy for me earlier this morning, and the font size changed randomly a couple of times. Could be a sign that they're working on things, or it could be unrelated. I'm not sure.

If they've said in the past that they deliberately don't set a start date to certain events because it's possible something will go wrong and the start date will have to change, then our current situation makes sense. It's kind of what I was thinking, too!

I haven't noticed any lag, but maybe I missed it! The one time of year when everyone is desperate for lag XD Oh the irony.

I am so ready for this,lol. I was really hoping it would have started earlier today. I do not have as much time on weekends as I do on weekdays :(

I do understand the aspect of not announcing lest issues arise. But that being said, I don't think it invalidates my interest in a start time. People have been anxious for days, and rapidly losing enthusiasm due to the radio silence. If we had an announcement of Wednesday or Thurs, and issues arise, then they would push out an announcement of delay. People would be irked, but still excited. The route of not giving a date at all is the lazier of the two. Don't have to give a time, and therefore, nobody knows when it's delayed. I see the logic, but I think it hurts the excitement levels on site.

I mean, just look at this board. We had the most traffic on Tues and Wed when people were waiting. It's practically a graveyard here today in comparison.

Oh agreed on all counts, for sure: I've also reached the point of discouragement at not knowing when things are getting started. Plus there are more than a few people who have to plan their involvement in long events like this who (understandably) were banking on having this week to participate. I am admittedly not super well versed in these things, but I am wondering why it's possible to have set start dates for some long events (ex Luminaire) but not others?

I was hoping survival would start soon this is my first week of work where my hours will allow me to goof off ;w;'''' since I've never been in survival can someone tell me what it's like?

It's awesome! I always have so much fun during this event (hence the hand wringing and pacing while we wait for it to come). There's something for everyone: if you like creepy and gory stuff there's a plethora of zombie themed items and such, including turning your HA into a bunch of different zombies! For people who prefer hearts and flowers, there's a boutique of Valentine's Day themed items, plus you can kiss your friends in the forums in exchange for candy hearts ;) PLUS there are floating flowers that pop up all over the site.

A lot of the games and activities are similar to Morostide, only zombie/valentines themed!

Regarding start dates- for some events it's easier than others. Like luminaire is the entire month of December. Quite a lot of the holidays are week dependent (Alegarten is start of Oct, vesnali is end of April, etc.) While the rest they leave for fluctuation because it's easier. Why peg survival for 2/14 exactly if they're not quite ready. Better to have the ability to push it back a couple days based on need.

That being said, logically it makes sense, but in regards to excitement, not so much.

oooo sweet!!!!! i love gorey stuff so much! gore is like my aesthetic tbh, I'm weird I like mixing super cutesy stuff with zombies and gore -points to my HA- I went to subetalodge and seen the old strains and they look so cool???

I'm hoping that maybe we'll get something this evening since they do tend to like starting events in the afternoon/evening time, as someone else mentioned earlier.

Yeah the older strains are some of my favorites, and I'm also a fan of combining the cutesy stuff with the gore-y zombie stuff. It makes for a more interesting site event than just the regular Valentine's Day type of thing.

oh god, heartburn... 😦 i was so glad i dodged that strain that year. serious props to you for actually keeping it for a year, too!

when survival starts, it usually kicks off with some new items from skitters den, the zombie shop, and l'amour parlor, the event shop for this holiday. then there's gunner, with the voluntary infection program where you get to pick whichever zombie strain you want to have, and you just hang out in the survival forum and have fun kissing and/or rotting. :) there's always a thread where people come to track the progression of whichever new strains are this year, speculate about how they'll turn out, and pick the nicknames for each one.

the floating flowers you get to turn into the survivor memorial, which you can earn achievments for.

Hahah, looking at your HA, I'm not surprised to learn that you love the gore ;) Your HA looks fantastic, by the way: I love his little pet! The old strains are amazing! The newer ones are cool too, but some of the earliest zombie skins were the most amazing!

there you go, being all reasonable, hah. It makes sense from a management perspective for sure. It's still strange that it's starting so late this year! They must have run into a doozy of a problem.

I guess if it starts tonight it'll be about 6:30 when many people are getting off work/school and settling down. Buuuut something is telling me it might even be delayed until tomorrow evening D: I did notice last night in early AM hours a lot of lag and a few times my HA wouldn't load and would only show my user ID. I wonder if they were working on the wardrobe then..

My gosh, can they just freaking start it already???? -_-
