This seems like a bad idea for the price check board.

The price check board is slow as is, but by making individual topics for each item they are easily searchable for the future to prevent duplicate requests. (also easier to google for an older thread.)

With the number of items that this covers, this could very quickly devolve into an unsearchable mess.

And if it pops to the top of the forum, you have no idea if it's an item you can help with, one you can't, or chatter between requests.

I'm surprised we still don't have a subforum for CW pricing since they were introduced 5 years ago.

Yeah, I didn't put this here because most CW people simply don't look here. They look on the discussion thread if they see an interesting title and they're all over the r200 threads (of course), but by far the majority of CW price check requests I see here: 1) are from users who've just come off hiatus/very rarely buy or sell CWs, 2) don't seem to get answered (or if they do, it's often inaccurate because most of the people on this forum aren't heavily involved with CWs), and 3) don't ever get sources. This was something that a few creators had asked for and several people on the CW topic in site feedback had been complaining that we didn't have/they thought CWs were inaccessible because something like this wasn't around, and while I understand the idea behind putting this here, I think it's really going to cut its usefulness.

Re: the scope of the board I thought about using the second post to catalog prices from the thread, but TBH I think it would fill up too fast + be hard to maintain in general. I don't really think it's a problem if someone asks about a CW on page 10 that was asked about on page 3. It's easy enough for me to copy a post from before, and the info might have changed drastically anyways. ALL IN ALL, this board was designed to be somewhere where users would get quick responses on prices since it was something that so many users (especially those not as involved with CWs) have trouble with when buying/selling CWs.

Very sad to see this moved though; gotta agree with on the fact that it probably won't get as much use now and doesn't seem very welcome here anyways. 8( It definitely had better visibility in CW discussion/r200!! :(

Hi! Just so you know, you have to be a member of the group in order for the ping to go through - I'm subscribed to the thread so I got an event, but I didn't get the actual ping. With dolly curls, it really depends on the color and the current market. Most colors go for between 700 and 1.5k, as a general rule. The blondish ones are the most expensive. That said: the caramel ones seem to have a history of selling for a bit less, as the last two sales I found were ">here for 400 (look under the sold spoiler) and ">here for 600. You could probably get 700-800 for them currently though; those sales are rather old. I couldn't find any sales within the past two years for the rose color, so it's probably closer to the high end of the price range - I'd say 1.2-1.5k for that one. The cocoa sold for 800 ">here last February. The wine color sold for 700 ">on this thread last September. The spice was priced at 600 ">here a couple years ago; you could probably get 700-800 for it safely. And finally, a copy of the peach sold ">here for 800 in December!

Aha, no problem! They used to be worth more, but they're one of those things that's deflated a bit in the past couple years so most colors are reasonable now. The two blonde ones are the main colors that still can fetch 1.5-2.5k ish, the other ones really depend on your buyer. If you're selling them, you could absolutely try advertising them a couple hundred higher and they'd probably get bought, but those colors don't fetch as much as they used to.

ah yeah there's always the style that seems to be more sought after. It's crazy because they like vanished from shops and I didn't see anyone asking them for so long. I'll probably be getting rid of a few here soon. its not really a private? ^^ I didnt really release much copies but two was auctioned and /some/ might be sold in the future again there was one copy for 1k and another copy for 1.2k/1.5k i cant recall which sorry ;__;
