Oh god... Fantine is horrible this year. She's only accepting one of each type of pumpkin at a time so there's absolutely no way to donate the hundreds you need to easily. I still need to donate over 200 :/
Yup it was NOT FUN turning in the couple hundred that I had. I just clicked and opened a billion tabs.
WHY ARE YOU AT WORK!?! throws a table
Not bad at all! :D and I hope the achievement kicks in for you soon!
It was an amaaaazing day out! We spent way too much money, but I regret nothing! Our total came in just under $400, but I wouldn't take it back for anything.
We're going to see my husband's family for Christmas, and it'll be the first holiday I've spent with them. While finding out what the 3 girls (they're his cousin's daughters, but he helped raise the oldest because when his parents died his cousin took custody of him) are into, we found out that they all loved art. They live in a town that's about the size of a city block, if that. There is NOTHING. He and I both were incredibly into art growing up, and we both knew the struggle of not having support when it came to it.
So we got them all two sketchbooks (one regular size and one pocket size) and kneadable erasers. The two little ones got charcoal sketchbooks, shaped crayons, twistable coloured pencils, and markers. Bre (the oldest) got a set of 125 Prismacolour coloured pencils, a couloured pencil care kit, a set of 30 Prismacolour markers, Prismacolour blenders, a .3 pencil and lead refills, a .5 pencil and lead refills, a Sakura Pigma Micron inking pen set, and an art portfolio/binder with extra sheets. To share, they got a bunch of stickers, some Maneki Neko (Lucky Cat) eraser toppers (too flipping cute; had to buy a second set for myself), an oil pastel set, and a charcoal set.
Phew. I think that was everything!
We paid full price for very little of it. The coloured pencil care kit, the regular size sketchbooks, the .3 & .5 pencils and refills, and the portfolio refills. Everything else was either on sale or heavily discounted in the warehouse.
The kicker? If the Prismacolour coloured pencils hadn't been on sale, they would have been $325 on their own. So it was like buying those, and not even all the items we paid full price for, and getting the rest for free.
Like I said, that place is dangerous. And I really want to work there!
Then we went out and had BBQ at a new place we hadn't tried! It was absolutely fantastic. I had Loaded Pulled Pork nachoes...! got a 3 meat combo with two sides. Tried their polish sausage, pulled pork, and sliced brisket. Our two meals and two drinks and it still came out under $30! The portions were huge, too! Great to know we have a cheaper BBQ alternative to Famous Dave's. We only eat there once or twice a year because a meal ticket for the two of us is a minimum of $50. got the 2 meat combo (pulled pork and smoked country ham) w/ 2 sides and a drink. And then we all proceeded to eat off of each other's plates and try everything! 8D
After all that, we came back into town and watched an anime, Kimi no Na wa, before she had to head out of town again.
Can't wait to see her again. ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
oh YAY grats!
Thanks ^_^
I'm glad was so great ! :D I'm sure the girls will love the sketchbooks. With all that art supplies, they'll be so thrilled ^_^ Congratulations on finding great deals on it all! It's all very worth it!
That BBQ place sounds fantastic! A lot of food for such inexpensive price :o There's this place here in Caceres (Spain) where we pay 15€ per person for all you can eat buffet. My favorite thing about the place is that it has a lot of raw chicken, beef, and seafood you can choose from and they cook in the moment for you. Plus they have a lot of Chinese/Italian food options, there's sushi, salads, and a lot of ham & cheese. Plus it's all you can drink from water, tea, soda, or beer :P
There's this other place we love that's authentic Mexican food, and tonight (in a few hours!) we'll be going to the other Mexican place in town, can't wait ^_^
The site is slowly breaking, and I suppose I should get my quests in before the CW Pawn Shop further kills the site.
Oh man, they cook it on the spot? That's awesome! We have a very small selection of places that do that for you, but it's expensive! They want like $25-30 per plate! We've never eaten at any of them just because of the price. Buffets around here are about $15 per person, but everything's already prepared and on hot plates. About the only time you'll get something prepared in front of you is if you catch them on a night they're doing something like steak and you can choose how done it is.
Also, beer's a new one to hear about having all you can drink! I've never drank, though, so it's not as though it matters for me, haha. It's interesting to hear, none-the-less!
Ooh, I hope you enjoy your time! What are your favourite types of dishes? :D We've got a local Mexican place here in town, and I've absolutely fallen in love with their Quesadilla Playa. It's a flour tortilla with grilled chicken, grilled ham, bacon, grilled pineapple (THE BEST), and queso cheese. Soooo good!
I have tons of pumpkins.....have some up on trades if anyone needs any!!

Fireside is the roughest Subeta event for me since RL is always super busy. I haven't even made my WL yet! D= Going to try that today. x_x
Goodluck everyone!
Yes, they do! It's so delicious! I always get some frog legs with asparagus, mushroom, and octopus :P Sometimes salmon and oysters. Sushi and pizza are already prepared, as well as Chinese dishes and pasta. Ooh they even have lasagna, paella and a few other spanish dishes.
Yeah they have those kind of like soda fountains for beer :P Actually a lot of places offer beer for cheap here :P
That quesadilla sounds yummy! I'm more tacos de deshebrada, or chilaquiles... even tostadas with beans, tortilla soup, and pozole... and enchiladas, YUM![/quote]
