That video loks like something you definetely need a mountain bike for! Here we use bikes more as a mode of transportation. So most people ride city bikes, me included. Here is a picture of the bikes at the train station of my old hometown to give you a bit of an impression:

This is only a small part of the bike parking garage. If you were leaving for a few days you really had to remember where you left your bike otherwise it would take you hours to find it again. I now live in Amsterdam, which has even more people cycling, but the distances are a bit bigger, so I tend to take the metro when something is more that 2 or 3 miles away.

I hate camping as well! I really like to sleep in a comfortable bed and not having to worry about cold, rain or going to the bathroom somewhere in an outhouse or outside. This summer we are going camping though, it will be the first time in 7 years for me and I'm only doing this because we're going to go to a music festival with a group of friends. I can see some challenges, as the baby is coming along as well (hopefully he can walk by then).

I totally get our sentiments. I'm a city girl. My idea of a nice holiday is going to another city and visiting museums and historical buildings.
