Still sick. My hives are actually starting to calm down after two months. So tired since I can't sleep with the itching. Juniper is doing well and dmy is healing up.

Sorry for the hives attacking you, terrible when sleep is disturbed. Have you ever tried oatmeal baths for it - my mother used to do that. Lucky that I have only had hives once short lived time. Do you know what it is that you reacted to possibly? Must admit to being a little freaked out finally going to a cardiologist, surgery will be pushed at me I have no doubt.

OK, told all earlier than my Sling Sound on my computer died and I had called Sling to let them know in hope of resolution. For some reason earlier I though well this computer has been going thru some changes lately since upgrading to Windows 10 and the latest thing it did thanks to Microsoft I think was to change the sound to that of my TV to match the set up in the bedroom and I needed my computer speakers instead. So I suddenly though since I didn't have the app I should get it to see if that helps and of course I find out that you have to use the Microsoft Store. And presto changeo yer a wizard, SpiritedLass, I have sound on Sling again plus it doesn't bufffer anymore and the picture is sharp and clear. So I called to let them know, got a thank you. Been a day.

Yes, I got mine yesterday at CVS since my doctor is out of the country they called me to come in. My arm is fine, they do say to rub the injection site to help the muscle be less sore after the shot. Sorry to hear that his arm is bothering him.

well of course the VA didn't tell him to rub the site. sigh
I'll give him that info and ty

Not all places follow up with post care advice, sorry for that , just a gentle rubbing should help the muscle calm down - get some blood flow going.

Hi all! Hope everyone is well now, or at least better. I had the pneumonia shot and it didn't really bother my arm, but I was sick as a dog for three weeks. Ugh. Doing pretty good, except that I keep trying to get my A1C down and steady but its not easy. Feel frustrated and get depressed. I'm eating pretty healthy most of the time, but it doesn't seem to work as well as it should. Does anyone have any favorite diabetic meals or suggestions?

Sorry to hear that you had a bad reaction to the pneumonia shot. Hope that you've told your doctor about your experience. Will ask others about good meals they like. Am very sorry to hear how sick you've been, and will pray for you.

being a diabetic also I get the frustration. I stay away from any type of bread except once a week (sometimes two if church has a dinner on the grounds). I also try very hard to stay away from potatoes and noodles and cheese.
It's weird I can eat cream cheese and it doesn't bother me lol.
I really don't have any fav recipes because hubby isn't diabetic so I just eat what I can and he can eat everything.
I know this probably isn't really helpful, but I tried.

Whole wheat and Brown rice replacement in everything. just add more liquid. We just tweak every recipe not just finding recipes. Dmy has a stir fry she loves that I am allergic to. Might be able to get her attention. Also are you moving your body as well? Sometimes diet doesn't matter if you are stationary too much. My weight gain was all medication... there is also that and genetics. Might not be your fault or anything you can do about it. Annoying, right?

Thanks! I do eat whole wheat bread, but can't stand brown rice. I hardly ever eat rice anyway, though I love fried rice. I love bread, just about any kind. Very hard to limit that. Have mostly given up tortillas, though I still have the occasional couple. Crackers are hard not to eat too. Such a simple snack. I love fruit. Its the only thing good about summer in my opinion. I would have fruit as the whole meal most of the time. I was told that the natural sugars found in fruit are far better for you than any kind of processed sugar, not to mention the vitamins etc, but that many are still too high and I can't eat them like I want to. Its just freaking wrong that something as good as grapes can't be eaten as much as I want. I also love salmon and I could eat it often but I can't afford to buy it. Sigh.

As far as exercise, no. Can't walk very far and everything hurts. I'm disabled with many things. Several are in my back, and my knees are bad. I have 3 kinds of arthritis to add to the mix too. Blah.

Hives ARE evil! Shudder Hope they go away soon!

Bread is my downfall. At least one of them. And potatoes! I try to limit those too. Not much left. lol Never much cared for pasta so that isn't too difficult.

Oh, believe me I told my dr. Won't take the flu shot for the same reason but she talked me into the pneumonia one. The first time no problems, but the second - nope. Not doing that again either. That was months ago though. I just threw that in because you guys were talking about it. :)

genetics does play a part also, my grandmother had diabetis so yeah.
my left leg and foot don't work properly and have a slipped disc in back so moving isn't good, but I do try.
I sit in my comp chair and lift my legs up and down to help some,
