Thank you. He had another interview for a different job opportunity that sounds like a better deal. He's still applying to jobs though. This one with 100% commission is for phone sales. Chris asked some questions about that, and if you don't have any sales you get $11/hr. If the job was in a bigger town/city, it might be a decent job, but I don't see a lot of phone sales being made after Christmas.
That's terrible, one shouldn't feel the need to join a union just to have job security. With one of my previous jobs, workers comp was available, but those higher up in the organization were very strict about injuries qualified you. Managers there also preferred to listen to the gossip of other employees instead of getting the truth.
I wish that the neck aches were on the way out, but I've had a migraine for over 30 hours that started in my right eye socket. Sort of went away when Chris popped my back and worked on my neck.
My Christmas cards still aren't completed. I hand delivered some, and have two others I'll hand deliver, but the rest will end up going out late. But, all gifts have been wrapped and are under the tree.
I've got three joints that I've injured two different times, a knee, elbow and an ankle. I've got braces on hand to use when I need them and KT tape for my elbow to add support as well. When I finally found out what I did to my knee, the specialist recommended cycling for short periods of time at least once a day.
Weather forecast for Christmas day keeps changing, right now there's the chance of snow or freezing rain. I'd prefer to be able to travel back home for Christmas at my parents' house. At least the neighbor doesn't have fake snow all over his yard. We still haven't had any snow.
It will, I've been adding more items so organizing will take longer.
I've got the shelves back in the craft room, so maybe after Christmas I'll be able to get things organized. I can bring the hexis with me while traveling, so I'll try to work on the that project this Sunday and next.
I think the fudge was 'past it'. Its already a couple weeks old and last Sunday it sat out for 4 or 5 hours. I think I added at least 15 drops of green food coloring when I last made the holly wreaths and it was still too light of a green. Yeah, or at least some alt-dairy recipes, because I don't mind a little bit of cheese, but dishes like lasagna are out (my mom has a lasagna recipe that calls for cheese, cream cheese and a creamed soup)
Thank you! I had fun, even though it got pretty loud in the room. I don't enjoy the extended family Christmases on Chris's side, because it does feel like an interview, and I half expect someone to ask when Chris and I are starting a family.
I know in the 3 local towns there are a total of 5 antique stores. One has gone downhill some because it changed ownership and they brought in boutique items. I love walking through antique stores, but I hate walking away from an item due to its cost. I remember when books were less than 50 cents each and toys were much, much cheaper. Its rare to find a thrift store that still has the good prices. There's a Goodwill in Minnesota that I've been to a few times that has outrageous prices on clothes (over $14 for jeans, $8 for shirts).
Maybe, if I have a daughter it could be for her and me. Oh my, have fun! Knitting is one thing I don't know how to do.
Yes, I hope so. The other issue we have, is we only have on fridge and one freezer and the other families who have hosted have at least 2 of each. We would be very short on space to keep things cold. We'd be short on counter space too, unless we build our own kitchen island.
I don't have many scraps yet myself, but I could always raid my mom's scrap box, if I wanted to do ornaments. If I put quilted ornaments on the tree, I'll keep the blinds closed to prevent the fabric from fading. I looked it up online when I found the pickle ornament. Its an old German tradition, but I can't remember my family ever doing it. It would be a neat tradition to start once Chris and I start a family.
I just need to get around to making the blankets. I've got about 10 horses that are big enough for 18" dolls. I've had the supplies to make the blankets for years, but boxed it up when I started college. Thrift stores here love to put 'as is' on electronics and some tend to sell the cords separate.
The DVD of vintage cartoons includes ones made by Max Fleischer and Ub Iwerks (both competitors of Disney). I need to watch the DVD to find out if its good quality or if I need to ask for a return. I was watching a Muppet's Christmas movie on Youtube last week, but never finished it. It was one I hadn't watched before. Usually I watch Charlie Brown's Christmas, Rudolph, Frosty and Frosty Returns, but I haven't watched them yet this year. I believe I am on series 4 of Father Brown on Netflix. I have to get used to a new inspector again, I just got used to Inspector Sullivan.
I'll have to start doing that. I had a migraine start Tuesday night. It's gone by morning, but comes back at about 9 AM. So far, I think I've gotten rid of it. This one may have been weather related because its been cloudy for two days with a chance of freezing rain.
Yay! The photobucket one showed up after I posted, but I notice it no longer does now. Thank you! I've still got a lot of work ahead of me, as I still don't know if I want to stick with the Grandmother's Flower Garden pattern, or go with random placement. I've got plastic sewing clips that I use to hold the two hexagons together so that I can stitch them easier and they won't slide. The outer ring still has the plastic template inside each piece so it holds its shape, but I've removed the templates from the center of the block so I could finish stitch the blues together.
It is wonderful. I just wish I had a family recipe for Sandbakkelse cookies. I've found a few with the help of Google, but each one has something different.
My mom can't handle spicy foods, so I never had anything spicy growing up either. The first time I had something spicy (besides pepper sticks) was chicken wings at the Hard Rock Cafe in New Orleans. I just remember the sauce was hot enough to make my lips feel like they were on fire. When I went to college, I branched out and tried some things (mainly spicier BBQ sauce with chicken tenders). I would never be able to do the spicy wings challenge that some restaurants have. I know some people who can't eat spicy foods because it gives them stomach ulcers.
KT tape is amazing! Expensive, but amazing. I've found that the off brand tape doesn't work as well -- it either sticks too much or doesn't stick at all and leaves residue behind. I taped my finger as well, and I make start taping it more often because the tape provided enough resistance that I could actually work on bending my finger and improving mobility.
We think she is going to be pretty large when she finally does stop growing. Her paws a large and she's all legs, so she's still pretty awkward when she runs around. Right now she's barely fitting into her size medium jacket but too small for a large. I'd love to have an Irish Wolf Hound, but I also want an Australian Shepherd (not a mini one, they don't look like an Australian Shepherd as an adult). Chris wants a German Shepherd at some point and he also wanted a lab. My grandmother's border collie, Pepper, hasn't been doing well this week. I thought she wasn't going to make it Monday night and said my goodbyes, but Pepper is starting to get some pep back.
A toilet seat is a pretty good contender!
I may take to replying to one person per post, if the number of posts to boxes is low! xD
How is everyone's luck so far?
New lore rolling around in Melody's cottage today, all very exciting!
It's sad how many people got alienated from neo, but at least we have a good home here.
I think nostalgia plays a big part for the remaining neo folks, I don't know how good they are at getting and retaining new players these days.
And did I see Happy 5 years?
More poems if so!
Best of luck with the food shop tomorrow! We got some pretzel and tortilla snacks but they got opened today, completely by accident of course... Might be a few left. Maybe. :p
Lol I "accidentally" do that all the time :P I have already eaten 3 stocking stuffer candies! ...oops
OMG, I've gotten one box. 1. ONE. And I've posted like a madwoman.
Hide the wrappers!
Ah, we had a similar incident with the Xmas chocolates box, that became last week's chocolates box.
Oh well, it's nearly Xmas now, I guess...
xD
All I got was a fairy so far. Not great. Let's hope staff can increase the chances, or find another way to do this, it's a bit frustrating currently!
Oh yes my uc pets bring a lot of memories so I try to log in at least once a year to keep my account from going into the void LOL
Thank you btw!
Oh gosh, did you read my poems XD /dies
[Tot=siren] [Kiss=siren]
When it comes to candy it is close enough :D lol!
You found a forum giftbox while posting! Off to see what I get!
You opened the gift and find a Coconut Mango Milk Beach Drink! Can I trade it for a fruitcake? :P
I still had a gift box left over from last year that I opened not long ago and just got junk.
CWs for Sale or Trade https://subeta.net/user_shops.php/shop/24266
I'm so happy about today's wearable item! Gonna use it for a while at least <3
Odd, has anyone else noticed that the gift boxes are fraggable?

and Shame about the phones not being able to have the games but totally understandable! I was rocking an old phone for a long time but upgraded last year to play Pokemon Go (and was overdue for an upgrade anyway). XD Whenever you guys are ready for an upgrade, just know there are tons of fun and free things to do! Lol.
That is so cute! I didn't realize they had even made a mobile version until just about 2 or so weeks ago when one of my friends posted her friend code on FB. It was an immediate OMG MUST GET, lol. I told right away, too, so we could play together. It's addictive!
For your worst/funniest Xmas gifts question , I had a prank year for my brothers once when we were younger. One wanted the Offspring cd, (which I did buy) but I wrapped and gave him the Titanic movie soundtrack. XD Then I bought my oldest brother a Barbie cd rom game... lmao. He actually played it once, too, "out of principle!" he said. Lol.
Good luck getting some boxes ! I am gonna try to post this weekend between working on school stuff but man... x_x I dunno if it'll work out. I keep getting pissed off at this accounting shit. >:|
I feel ya on the Neo vibe. I held on over there for a long time, too! It was hard to let go after such a long time and so many memories but ugh... the multiple owner changes really snowballed it and JS was the nail in the coffin for me. It doesn't help that you can't say grape or basement or uncle... and a bunch of other super common/random words, wtf.
and , I agree, subeta is so much safer and more fun. <3
I've totally been fragging my fairies to stock up on crystals since I spent all mine at Halloween for the book to get the title. D: But if anyone is still working towards the releasing achievement, I'll totally donate! Just ping me! =)

Token Shop just stocked again.
- apparently it is very popular. I don't have a smartphone so can't play mobile games. Officially, I don't even have texting on my cellphone. LOL (Ironic since I helped write the software for cellular phone service.) But it looks like that game is a very big hit right now.
- have you seen these? Sandbakkelse 1 and Sandbakkelse 2? Those recipes look pretty authentic and very similar to each other, but then I had never heard of them before now so I may not be a good judge.
True - some people can't eat spicy food for various reasons (but then some people can't eat nuts or milk or ... either). And I would never be able to handle the hottest foods at a restaurant with a spicy food challenge (although sometimes I think it would be fun to take a VERY small taste anyway - as long as there is a good source of dairy nearby to cool it off fast.) I have noticed that the level of spicy I like and also the level I can tolerate tends to increase when I eat more spicy things. And I have heard that spicy foods help increase your metabolism and otherwise do good things for you (of course that doesn't mean that you can ignore the other things about the dish :-) ).
Guess you'll just have to wait and see just how big she gets.
I do really love German Shepherds but I also love BIG dogs. I also love Alaskan Malamutes. Mostly I just love dogs. :-)
Hope Pepper is feeling better today.
- Omg! <3 Your poem was amazing and I totally wasn't expecting you to actually do it, haha but thank you! :D <3 and I are for sure proud sharky members of Subeta
Yeah, Layla isn't a name I would have picked.. but I'm glad it isn't one I hate. XD You are totally right though, it will be beautiful in cursive, and not too tricky! I think even I could make that look good and I sign my name like a freaking doctor! Steph(squigglesquigglesquiggle) D(squigglesquigglesquiggle)
Weeee, we are so close to Christmas fellow sharks! I am going to have to blast some Christmas music because this weather is making it feel like springtime already. Kind of warm with way too much rain (we're under a flash flood watch at the moment). If I'm not able to pop back onto the forums until after I hope you all have a very Sharky Christmas! ^_^
Rough evening yesterday. Went to my cousin's... things weren't going well & weren't going to get better so I left. I'll see her at Christmas but she'll most likely avoid me. Ah families. Only so much I can do... if a plane is crashing one need's to put one's oxygen mask on first & in this case, grab the parachute & jump out instead of crashing with her. One day she might understand, but she's too far gone for me to help & not enough to be forced to get help.
- Sorry your visit to your cousin's house didn't go well! I know exactly the type of person you are talking about. Maybe eventually she will come around but it's good you realize you can only do so much to help someone that doesn't want it. I know I've had to come to that same conclusion about a few people in my life too.
Aw it's a hard thing to realize you can't help someone, but like you've said, they have to want it, too. If things aren't too far gone, the best thing to do might be to offer help again if/when she is ready for it. hugs
Rofl , that's my signature, too! J(squiggle)f(squiggle) M(squigglesquiggle) XD
Considering it's still pretty new, I think only a month or 2 old? They do a lot of updates and events. And the fact it is free... it's pretty awesome. The only thing that was weird to me, was they added gardening this time of year. XD It's fun and all! But... it is definitely weird, lol.

grows flowers in the snow with Yeah that is weird - isn't it? They just announced there will be New Years items soon :D
Well, I typed up a big old post and then the biscuit sized screen device deleted the lot. Thanks there(!) Typos care of autocorrect.

Ill reply properly when not typing on a biscuit, might be a few days but not forgotten you ! :)
poet senses tingling Well, there's always room for more poems, did a sterling motivational poem job on the empty tree boards!
Yeah, there was a lot of potential on that site but cash became the focus. Shame.
They should reopen charity's if we're going to get food parcels as the gift box prizes!
Aw, snuggly HA! I really hope we get some silly Lumi jumpers for next year, that'd be fun.
You never know, we may catch up with technology one day. Maybe... ;)
Nice prank gifting!
I feel bad for gifting a hedge trimmer to a family member this year, but they did ask and it was in the sale! I feel gifts should be more fun than that.
You are most welcome!
I am prepping for good-looking days before Xmas, battered halloumi cheese from the local chip shop tonight! Comfort food crazies!
Have yourself a Sharky little Christmas!
Sometimes being quiet and in the same room as someone us as civil as it gets. If that's the best it can be - so be it.
May have to hit a Lumi spam board, 0 boxes yet!
Congrats on your Subeta anniversary!
And they kind of did that with the festive tank tops earlier this month, but more sweaters or jumpers or whatever would be cool too. I just know a lot of people were asking for more festive warm weather items, for people who live in Australia or South America or even the southern US where it's not really cold during December.
Thanks! Off to the adoption centre.
Oh, we can cover warm weather festivities too, Lumi Bermuda shorts, bbq Turkey backgrounds, Lumi umbrellas the UK contingent... xD
