It's annoying when you get something "free" but it's a way to try and force you to buy things. I watched a lot of What not to Wear when it aired & saw tips there. Now there are palettes that come with tips. If you spend a certain amount oftentimes a place does your makeup for free & explains what they're doing... which is also what I did. I don't put makeup on often, but I do like to for special occasions & I can wind up removing a good part if I mess up :P

I've finally been able to catch up in reading & alchemy gifts... considering SubetaLodge isn't working it made it even more of a challenge. almost an hour past bedtime, I better rest. Oh, I did get my 10th win against bandit... what a bugger!

- yes, making alchemy combinations is tricky without SubetaLodge, although I think there are other listings somewhere.

I almost got a win for Cursed Effigy... I'm going to have to try again tomorrow with more vials.

- the trick to beating Cursed Effigy is to block fire and magma since you can't heal, and to attack using fire, light and water which he doesn't block Freezing and cursing are also disabled. If you have them Perilous Whirlpool Scrolls are good because they block 75 fire and attack with 10 water.

Actually you can heal against the regular Cursed Effigy available during Fireside, at least healing worked for me last night when I fought him.

It's the Tormented version from the MC that you can't heal or freeze when fighting.

Although blocking fire/magma/dark still helps for both versions.

Both Bandit & Cursed Effigy can't freeze but can heal... if the blasted bandit doesn't steal your healers. I haven't muttered at the computer that much until I had to deal with the Bandit lol. I don't have that scroll. I have the Divine one that helps block a bit but not super. I have Forj Tempered Shield... but it doesn't last long.

My biggest issue is I honestly can't upgrade. I have to do all of the quests, including Sarah & when have enough sp Sag just to have enough sp for the day. I've been trying to frag things, buy alchemy things, recycle things, clean up my wishlist... so erm yeah big budget t6 weapons are out for now.

I just want one win to get the achievements. He's not super HP... so if I could just figure a good combo, maybe get lucky, do lots of vials/potions... I already came close (Poukie 0, him 16 left grr). Try try try again ;)

I have some Fatal Fire scrolls I could lend you that might help, they block fire and dark and do some damage. I could also lend you my Triple Threat scroll that has 7% heal and blocks some fire icons. Might help you get at least one win.

Congrats on your win! I saw a thread in problems and bugs that the achievement is having issues being awarded right now, but if you submit a ticket they can give it to you manually. :)

Ah, I'll submit a ticket... I was frustrated enough to post on the battle forum, after all that hard work couldn't understand & Poukie just can't do 1 more round... it took vials, potions & more every round to make her last... plus lots of strategies. I can do a ticket, at least she doesn't have to deal with him again, fewf!

There's a post in the help forums that they're trying to get SL back up again but it's the weekend and I guess they're having trouble getting a hold of people to fit it. Hope they get it back soon. And I haven't had any time to do any battles since last weekend.

Considering it's not a super powerful set, I think Poukie did really well :D I did a variety of potions/vials/etc to add to the blows... strategized when to use what & with a lot of luck finally did it shakes pompoms If I can get her eventually to t9 I have a cool defensive weapon waiting for her :)

Subeta Wiki does have info on battle challengers. It helped me to better strategize & choose weapons for Cursed Effigy. I hope SL gets back up soon... but with enough digging (or someone that knows where to look) it can be quite useful ;)
