- That's what I do to if I want a lot of stuff. And if I want a lot of rare/super rare stuff then I buy everything that's expensive, LOL. The guide helps most if you're just looking for a few specific things - like the new backgrounds, or the last color plume you don't have yet.

I usually buy anything that's under 11K. Not sure if the more expensive 20K is worth it or gives more rare items. But FYI you can get cheap items because pirate prices are coming down. Just paid 12K for something that's selling for less than 2K. I wonder if it gives out different types of items at different times of day because i got a lot of books last night but none so far this morning and ended up with a few cheap items that cost more in the box, like paying 8K for something that's selling for 1K. And just paid 15K for a coat that's selling for 3K. Darn, where are the books. Most of the books I've gotten have been in the 10-14K price range, FYI.

Edit: I got a lot of good stuff from the box last night but today about 2/3 of the items are selling for less than what the box charged me. Gotten a few wish list books but none of the items I really want. The box is addicting. Kind of like gambling because I keep putting SPs in hoping to get 1 of the items I really want badly, but so far no luck with that. Hope the rest of you are having better luck.

Prices have gone back up a bit for some things it seems, because of the achievements. They probably won't be expensive forever though, but maybe they can do the mystery box thing for another day later in the week before the shop closes again.

Yeah prices went down until the new achievements came out. Anything that is now selling cheap I'm just tossing in my vault and will check prices again in a few months. Still getting a lot of books in the 9-15K price range. Do you think they will do mystery box again for pirate stuff?

I don't know for sure, but I hope that maybe at least one more day later in the week. Maybe the last day or the day before last.

Yes I saw the guide but didn't really seem relevant as I'm getting better items in the 9-15K range than 20+. There used to be a list in the forums of prices for certain Luminaire and News Years items from the box but that was a long time ago.

It can be helpful if you're looking for specific items for your collections and stuff though, if you want to know what prices you should be looking for. I've gotten quite a few of the things I needed that way so far.

Yes I was looking for specific items but according to the guide they would be over 20K, but all the items I bought for that much were cheap stuff. Got all the achievements except the sticker one because the friend I sent them to hasn't stuck me yet.

- the Mystery Box is set up so that items sell for their shop price or an exact multiple of that price. The more rare the item, the higher the multiple used to set the box price. And the box can sell an item for more than one price since there is some amount of RNG involved.

As far as different things more likely to show up at different times, I don't know if there's a limited pool of items and those that have run out stop showing up (so things would tend to change over time) or if it has to do with RNG (since computerized random is never fully random, so there can be trends) - or both or even something else.

And as for prices coming down, I expected that as soon as the Freyalise items showed up at the box. If users are getting lots of something then more will be sold and prices will drop, so the box was almost guaranteed to do that. Most of what is still expensive is hard to get from the box, or not stocking from there at all. Still, if I consider what I spent overall, even the few rarer more pricey items do more than justify the cost and it was far easier than trying to restock from the Freyalise (although I'll do more of that too). And if you check the box price before you buy - you have some control of what you get - unlike quests. Not a full solution, but it has it's usefulness.

I know one person got the ship background for 50xxx sP at the box, but I'm sure that you need to refresh a lot of times to see that show up. Not quite as hard as finding your Possessed Bow at Blackheart Hollow, but the same idea.

Yeah, I personally haven't seen any items over like ~35k or so in the MB yet, so the 50k or more items are probably really rare. :c

Yeah I expected prices to come down not just from the box but from stuff selling in the shop. And they will keep coming down until the event ends. Then hopefully in a few months go back up again until next year. I haven't gotten any backgrounds, had to buy the ones I needed. Everything that I paid 20K+ for at the box ended up being cheap junk so not paying over 15K now, getting a lot of books. And I don't recall seeing any items in the box over 25-27K.
