Poukie does about 400+ damage. That boss blocked so I would wind up with 100 damage sometimes. I had aimed my time more on the smaller monsters in hopes of getting some type of ok prize... but when I had the health & time they weren't there and when I had not much health or time they were so I just couldn't this time around. I'm usually pretty determined persistent when it's possible; however, these days I've had to prioritize and do what I can not what I want.

I talked to my mother earlier tonight... they want to come down last week of Sept or 1st of Oct. I normally would have wanted them as soon as possible, and I had to tell her later is better because right now my place is not welcoming. It's chaotic, messy, and an embarrassment. I have no desire to have guests. One of my cousins would have liked to visit... I haven't invited her yet because I just don't feel like being a host to chaos. My birthday is coming up and I know relatives will want to visit... I'm actually not looking forward to it right now. I'm still dealing with makeup issues. I went today to get foundation & of course the one that worked well they are out of :( I chose another and the tone, as well as the texture, don't work. After a few hours, it started to irritate my skin... bleepers. :S Then I went to "Chinatown" in hopes of finding a few things I wanted for the apart... no luck. I had planned on going to a specialty handmade noodle restaurant... only to wind up not being hungry when staring at the door. I was just too tired and went home (over 1 hr travel so take out wouldn't have been the best idea). Of course 2/3 way home I wind up feeling starving and wondering why now?

It has to get better eventually, I hope cuz I hate having things not work out.

I'm off for a bath then it's a movie if all goes well.

What do you think of the new pet? The aqua one is a pretty color, but I don't really care for this one much. So glad I filled my last pet slot already. Wish they'd done the little blob guy instead.

I do BQs every day. I do Shinwa's quest off and on. I VERY rarely get stat boosts from her. I try to do graveyard quests, but some days I just forget. I can only assume that he is beatable because of great weapons. When people start talking about icons and things like that I get totally lost. Thanks Hun :D Maybe and I will both get at least one win!!! I am not sure about the new pet. It is pretty and different, but not completely sure I want one. I might change my mind when special colors are released.

Yeah that doesn't work to well for us. We can go to bed early, but we just end up laying there for a couple of hours. Which is really annoying.

Oooh I have not seen that yet. I will have to check it out later :D thanks for the info! ~ Tuckered out tonight! Sorry if my responses are short or who-knows-what at this point. Brain is mush tonight!

- doing what we are able rather than what we want is a part of all our lives It's not always fun but it's just what we do. I understand it must be frustrating for you but you are doing great and your battle pet will grow.

I'm confused, when you say that Poukie does 400 damage - how are you figuring that? Damage is based on a combination of your pet icons and stats, and your opponent icons and stats. If you are saying that the battle text at the bottom of the screen said 400 damage, then the full 400 was counted towards your total, even if the Hydragellos healed and his health only dropped 100 in the bar up on top. I would have no idea how much damage any of my pets would have done if they had no icons blocked, I only know how much the text announces after each turn. Am I missing something?

Would some of the family that wants to visit be able to come and help you put the new apartment in order, rather than having them wait until you have already done that? Family is all about helping each other. Maybe organizing your new apartment could be the theme of this year's birthday party?

It's hard when things don't work out - but hang in there - they will get better.

Hope you had a lovely relaxing bath and enjoy your movie. Take care.

- I seem to have better luck getting boosters when I do Shinwas quest daily (or close to it). I will try to remember to keep track for a little bit and see how often she gives me boosters. Today I got a .

Icons are really confusing at first. But once you get past there being so many of them (9 different ones) they are not that difficult. Each weapon or scroll (or shard or potion) has a set of attack icons and a set of defense icons. Every icon - regardless of type - has the potential to do one unit of damage (exactly how much depends on your stats and your opponents stats).

To make it simple let's just talk about one weapon. If your weapon does 10 dark icons or 10 wind icons or 10 magma icons (or 5 physical icons and 5 ice icons), then it has the potential to do 10 units of damage. Which kind of icon doesn't matter as long as your opponent doesn't block anything. But if your opponent has defense icons then they are subtracted from your attack icons before anything can hit him. Wind attack can only be blocked by wind defense. Water attack can only be blocked by water defense.

If your opponent blocks all dark and your weapon's attack is 1 million dark (there is no such weapon), then it simply doesn't hit him at all. If your weapon has 7 icons of dark attack and he blocks 5 icons of dark attack, then your weapon will only damage him for 2 icons - so 2 units of damage. All your attack icons are added together and then his defense icons are subtracted to see how many icons of attack do damage to him. And the same in reverse. His attack icons are all added together and then your defense icons are subtracted before you take any damage. Some blessings can add defense icons.

Blocked icons don't do damage at all - that is different than damage which then gets healed. So your healing only works on your health and repairing any damage that was done to it. Blocked icons never impact your health in the first place.

One exception - curse damage can NOT be blocked. So you can be killed by a curse even if you re using a full blocker that blocks all of every icon. (And so can your opponent.) That is one reason weapons that can activate curses are so nice.

So it helps to know what icons an opponent uses to attack and which ones they defend. A Hydragellos Maniacal Core which does lots of dark icons and nothing else, is a poor weapon choice for an opponent that has a big dark block. But it is a good hard hitting weapon against an opponent with no dark defense.

It's really just a simple matching game followed by some basic arithmetic. :-)

That's why battlers have more than just one set of weapons and scrolls. They pick which ones to use by thinking about things like that. (And of course freezing and stealing and healing too.) Sometimes, if an opponent has a large attack of one icon type (wind for example) it might be more important to have a wind blocker than to use a healer.

Hope that makes sense once you are able to get some rest.

Good Luck to both you and when Rouland returns to the Battle Coliseum.

Some opponents don't block or are super weak and hardly block. When that happens I know my most powerful attack combo gives me over 400 damage. Some occasions the boss didn't block, just full on attack so my attack would be at the most powerful. When that happened, I would do over 400. The times the boss blocked, much less overall damage would occur... around 100 or so.

Tackle the punching bag to see your overall full potential without block if you want to know how much your pets are capable of.

Being stuck in bed for a while not sleeping can encourage one even more to wake up at the needed time to avoid having to do that again. Anyways, find something that works for you, the key is motivation. Perhaps prepare coffee the night before and look forward to drinking it in the morning, when you have the right motivation it won't matter what time of day something is occuring. A child that cries in the whee hours of the morning will motivate most parents to get up... unpleasant motivation but it works. A ringing alarm clock that refuses to go off without manual shut off set across the room can also be negative motivation. Find something that will work for you.

Today she gave me Shinwas Weather Orb :( Thanks for all the info Hun hugs I will try to sort through it all!

We will muddle through somehow. Thankfully it is her last year of school. I can't believe my baby is a senior already! She was supposed to be in 11th, but the online school just goes by credits and she has enough to graduate this year.

- interesting. From what I know that shouldn't be working quite like that since the amount of damage you do is a formula calculated using your stats and your opponents stats. So nonblocked attacks against Aboxalypse would not be the same as those versus a harder challenger. I wonder if he and the unkillable boss were special cases. I'm going to have to try and see what damage I do against different opponents when I'm not blocked Thank you.

- please don't feel obligated to spend time with it if you don't want to. But do let me know if you decide to use it and have any questions that I can help with. I'm hoping it turns out to be helpful - for you or someone else reading this thread.

At least she's in her last year & congrats to her for sticking with it. School isn't easy... home schooling has its own challenges. She might want to look into online college in the future if she enjoys certain subjects. I recall I had one class in high school that I absolutely found horrid. The teacher didn't teach, he just told us to do things in the workbook since that's what the ministry test would be on (required to pass the class & the class was mandatory to get the diploma). He would then go to another class and chat with his friend professor most of the time. A friend of mine and I were in the class together. I had decided I never wanted to do that class again so that was my motivation for studying and passing. She would have needed more guidance & motivation from a good teacher... she failed and had to repeat the class 3 times :S Sometimes we do things we don't like but keeping in mind a bigger goal can help get us through the tough parts.

In other news, I managed to register with an organization that does a variety of craft activities. It's strictly a women's club & most are elderly but I usually enjoy hanging out with elderly :) They don't have sewing; however, they might in a while... I hope so since I had hoped to have help learning. On the other hand, I know a lot about soap making and they might be interested in having me do a workshop eventually. Right now I signed up for knitting... I'm hoping to learn how to knit a sweater for Gismo :D

I always try to figure out how much damage my pets can do max, which helps figure out amount of times a pet needs to survive in battle, when to use health boosts so that my pet either survives till the end or with lower ones I can bring back the hp to full or almost full so I don't have to visit the healer as much.

School can be difficult. I wish they had online school back when I was in school! I would have loved it.

Oooh the crafts sound like fun! I used to crochet, or at least try to. I tried to make a scarf and it ended up a blanket lol. ~

yay the elephant minion is in the shop and there are new throwback challengers!

- if you're trying to grow a battle pet, you might want to consider using some of the stat boosters. If that's not a priority for you, selling them is a great way to get sP.

- I'm glad to know that.

Beautiful dress, by the way. I assume it's a CW.

Today Shinwa gave me a

- I decide when to use health boosts mostly based on how many I have and what percent of full health my opponent is at (unless of course, I think I need one to survive the next turn).

If you want to avoid the healer, you don't need to be at max health when you finish a battle. If you have a single hit point you can just challenge an easy challenger (like Buttwing Bomber) and use your healers in that battle to bring you back to full health. It works really well if you have bought a Phoenix Quill, which I strongly recommend. I'm still using mine for all of my pets. It's a summer item in the Millionaire Center, so will be a little less expensive if you buy now (before fall).

Hopefully we'll get some event news soon, since the anniversary date is on Sunday I'm hoping we'll get stuff a bit before then. Anniversary usually isn't long, but at least a few days of items and stuff would be nice. Plus the boppers, of course ~

My top pet T12 beat Prodigy 5 times for the prizes, but so far none of my T11s have been able to do much. Maybe I'll try again over the weekend.

- Subeta has some amazing anonymous gifters. :-)

Can't remember what Shinwa gave me today, so it might not have been a booster.

- it is doable. Several battlers have done it with their T10s and got five wins with Oranos who is her T9. Good Luck to you and your T11s.

- I won't be worrying about Vintage Prodigy until later either. He's going to be very difficult for Tos (T9) because she has low AP and I don't own any big percent freezing scrolls. Tomorrow is my monthly game day and I will be busy all day having fun! :-) Hope things go well for you in the Battle Coliseum.
