(( Yeah, but I tend to do the same thing, and things keep getting completely negated -- or moved so far past it's ridiculous. >.< I mean, I did /say/ I'd like a chance to post, half a page ago. S'not like I'm blaming anyone without speaking up. And it'd been what, fifteen minutes? Twenty? For catching up with several pages, that's not bad at all.))

Kat looked up at the headmistress, her shoulders squaring. "Begging your pardon, Headmistress, but could Magnus maybe speak to you later? Separately? I don't know how things started, but he cast one spell -- protection -- and he's trying to stay calm. I'm sure he'd like to sort things out, but...now may not be a good time." She spoke politely, since Mrs. Persnickety had earned a full measure of her respect, but that didn't stop her from challenging a direction she thought unwise.

The potions were lost--calming draughts and some of his homework. He'd have to redo his homework ones and then go to the hospital wing for more calming draughts. He didn't reply to the headmistress's assessment of his art. "I only protected meself, I didn't touch or 'urt anyone. May I go?" he asked looking at the ground, "please?" He appreciated Kat pointing out he hadn't instigated, that he'd tried to leave before it got bad.

(( Yeah, I hear you. Actually, I do both forum and chat, and this sort of speed is /very/ unusual in a forum rp of any caliber. I've been in some that had posts every ten minutes to half hour, but this is...a bit overwhelming. Even for me, and I read at a blistering pace and don't usually get out of sorts having to tweak things to fit another post or two. In many forums even the fastest of my replies is a half-hour, minimum, and can take a couple hours to write completely, but then they're considerably longer, and often handle small details.))

(( Haa, I understand. Just got a bit frustrated -- partly because I've been without anything but my chat group (which is currently active, no less!) for like two weeks. >.< I'm in RP withdrawal. It wasn't any particular person, more...the group as a whole.))

With a last glare at Nik -- she had every intention of confronting him later, or figuring out /something/, at least. Certainly he was not in her good books! -- she thanked the Headmistress and departed with Magnus. "Hey. Like she said, you did good." She hesitated, but slid her hand into his and gave it a squeeze. "Although I nearly turned him into a newt."

As soon as the Headmistress left, Nik relaxed, and lit up a cigarette nervously. He gave Snow a wan, half smile. "You, um..you maybe want to get some coffee or something, somewhere else...?" All the playfullness was out of Nik's eyes, he clearly has been chastised thoroughly.

Nik watched the two other students depart. He had felt bad after seeing a cat come hissing out of the dropped bag, and hoped it was ok. He shook his head, and looked back at Snow hopefully.

Magnus nodded to the headmistress but said nothing. He took Katsumi's hand. "Come on, let's go." He picked up his bag and set off to leave. Magnus didn't look back at the resturant nor his other friends. He just wanted to get the hell away. "I don't see why I need ta go to Gaia though. Lets just...not. We could go to Honeydukes instead." He was burning with anger and shame. What Nik had said upset him so much.

LOL...I get it...Ive watched stuff sit there...and then its not like a chat where you can write a few lines...and then your pings were coming up delayed on my alert sidebar..so I am sorry, have no idea why...I try to write something and then just WHOOSH! but you handled it well!))

Snow looked at him while shaking her tail to flick off the snow "I feel bad for the food all being left in there...but ya..coffee..just let me go..get it to go"

Snow walked in to Las Palmas "Sir, would it be to much trouble to have the young lad and ladys ( and so you know you should get it) food packaged into to go boxes and sent to them at the castle? I will pay their tab and the food I ordered, if possible to go as well."

"Sure thing, " Nik said "I'll just be out here," and held up his cigarette.

Snow smiled weakly at Aquilino "I will be fine...just..a lot of misunderstandings today. I know its your choice..but please dont ban anyone...I dont think anyone meant to get grumpy today. Umm.."digs into her purse and takes out parchment and quill. She quickly writes out an apology note to Magnus and says she took care of his tab. Then another to Katsumi that was a bit longer. ((I will comment to you Shy on what it says)) Again apologizing and letting her know she took care of the tab and not to worry about it. "Could you please attach these to their boxes...and send a ginger tea along for Magnus...I think they were going up to the castle..but I cant know for sure."

Snow feeling like she did the right thing waits for everything to get settled appropriately.

Nik finished his smoke, and walked into Las Palmas. He made his way over to there Snow was waiting. "Everything ok...? I thought I would come in and wait with you, you know, so you wouldn't be lonely," he said quietly. "Nice move, btw...I didn't know you Hogwartians were so quick on the draw. You must be one heck of a dueler. My professor would be SO angry that I let someone get the drop on me. " He smiled, and gave her wink, trying to break the levity of the situation so recently past.

With all the commotion going on, Fade found himself swelling with mixed emotions. It was like every time he got together with his friends, someone was upsetting Magnus () and he was to slow or stupefied by the situation to help. Rolling his eyes he let out a sigh and lifted a brow sitting across the table. “Well, I’m still kinda hungry, duno if you are... But I wouldn’t mind the company.” There had been a few moments when he thought he might burst out into the street to defend his friend, but Kat () and even the Headmistress were on the case and didn’t need a skinny little boy getting in the way. Resigned to his fate, Fade unenthusiastically ordered a taco plate and a small side salad. () ( On my phone, sorry if any of this is jumbled )

Snow gave him a smile and a sigh. Her eyes were slightly red from the stress of the day. "Your too kind...I feel like how Will Graham described people treating him like a tea cup..but him feeling like an old chipped mug...do you know what I mean? Im not used to so much interaction...and then..I dont really know anyone immediately around me well enough to even begin to try and explain how I feel...but I realized a coffee would be nice and I appreciate you not being so...sleazy.." she smiles and gives him a nudge.

Snow glanced over a little embarrassed but tried to give a little apologetic smile

Nik nodded, listening to Fable. " I watched Hannibal, I know what you mean. But, that old chipped mug is stronger than that tea cup, and had probably seen more than that fragile teacup, who was only brought out for special occasions. " He thought about it, and smiled. "So, even though all this is going on around you, you can handle it, and that's a good thing. "

Nik sighed. " Yeah, I could use the quiet and the caffeine...and sleazy..? I was being sleazy..?" he pretended to look miffed. " I thought I was being charming, " he said with a quiet laugh.

snorts You had the nut lady ready to start chucking her wares at you to protect me.." she chuckles "and I know I can handle it...its just...today was kinda a big day for me and I was assured I wouldnt have to face it alone and then I did...I mean dont get me wrong...Im glad my classmates have been accepting..I think it helps that there is such a diverse group of students though. I mean..I remember the first time I saw Paddy...which is the girl covered in hair. I didnt think about Wolfman or anything..I thought about the old carnival folk...and how while I know life was hard for them..they truly were unique...and then when I observed her...she was so nice to everyone..and patient."

"I mean I felt sick earlier, I believe my blood-sugar had dropped and Magnus offered me food from his bag to help me feel better. They seem like good people...I just feel like when I try to approach them...like Im talking in some foreign language...or like if I say the wrong thing..they will blame it on the house Im in."

She walks with him once everything was taken care of. "If you really wanted to do coffee I...ummm...you know..they have an Italian place, my Omi used to own the bakery, I bet they have good coffee and desserts...If you want. Or we could just walk and talk...and munch on all the food I ordered." she chuckles holding up her leftovers. She had let a fussy Duddits down to walk a little ahead of him on leash.

Nik laughed " she was going to throw things at me...?? No wonder she 'didn't have any pistachios'...I suspected she was trying to pull one over on me, but what could I do..? " he winked, showing her he was kidding.

"So..let me get this straight..while your classmates seem to be accepting and diverse, you are concerned that because of the house you were sorted into, they will judge you for it..? Meaning, you worry they will have preconceived notions about you because of your house. I get that, I mean everyone assumes that because I am in Durmstrang, or was, that I am a dark wizard just biding my time."

He gently touched her shoulder. " I am sorry that whatever you were supposed to go through today, that you ended up doing it on your own. If it's any consolation, I am here, and you don't have to.. Remember, I'm not leaving you until I get your contact info and a kiss...." he looked at her, his eyebrows raised up and gave her puppy dog eyes. Then he dropped his soulful expression and laughed, and put his arm around her shoulders.

"Your choice, Snow..we can stop at either place, or get into that food bag of yours that smells really good. I just avoided getting kicked out of Hogwarts before I even started, my day is going really well," Nik said in an upbeat manner.

"Ms Lydia means well...we both could tell you were a "bad boy" Snow does the finger quotes. "I admit you got better when you werent..trying so hard." she chuckles. " Ya see...well...I went to a muggle school for awhile..I didnt know I was different then...and then I changed...right during the time I was starting Hogwarts and everything else.. My parents travel a lot..and it took time to figure things out...but its like..people always seemed to have a weird 6th sense...like they knew even though I was hiding...It was a stressful time for me" Snow sighs. "So because of this, when I started school, I was nervous and stayed mostly to myself..my family tried to encourage, saying it was safe...but it was Thranduil, my penpal who finally gave me the courage to try it...especially because he would be here to back me up. Well that didnt work out. I guess it could have been worse...I could have been picked up and rushed to the hospital wing with the assumption I took some weird potion or had been hexed...can you hold this?" she motions to the food and with a tilted head digs in her bag a moment later she comes out with a blanket for them to sit on and then wistfully says "Or I could have been born blue...

"Honestly I dont know much about Durmstrang except it floats of Scandinavia and they have a different curricullum them we do. " she preforms a waterproofing charm on the blanket, lays it out and sits down. "Winter picnic?" chuckles "I ordered a lot of food..."

"I tell you what, how about we find Gaia real quick, like the headmistress said, and you don't have to talk if you don't feel like it? And after we can go to Honeyduke's or soemthign like that." Katsumi slid her hand into his and gave it a squeeze, even going so far as to pull him closer for a moment. Not much longer, however, and she seemed embarrassed after. She wasn't used to demonstrating affection physically, not like this. Plus Magnus was the first boy she'd ever been seriously interested in, beyond a fleeting crush -- proximity tended to make them pass much faster, and actors hardly counted as serious interest. She had no idea what her feelings meant, half the time, particularly since she kept feeling anxious, embarrassed, or self-conscious, which were ordinarily negative. And yet, she found she enjoyed it. Or thought she did, at least. It was so confusing.

Nik waited until they sat down on the blanket to respond to what Snow had confessed. "That had to have been hard for you, I mean, to have things just change like that. I know we all get self conscious about the normal things we go through...and you had some additional things there all the time. So, because he was going to be here for you, you tried to just be you...and then he couldn't handle..the rest of it ? " he motioned with his arm. "kids, people, etc."

He shook his head " we all have choices, I suppose. If this was the only school or no magic, I am sure he would have been able to cope. I did, at Durmstrang." His expression darkened, and he looked down. His jaw tightened, then released, and he looked up, and gave a small laugh.

" I was laughing because of what you had said, that it could have been worse, you could have been born blue." he nodded, " it can always be worse. So, what have we got to eat, Little Wolf... ?" Nik said, looking eagerly toward the still warm bags.
