I picked Moon because I ADORE bats, and most people associate me with the moon, anyhow (also, I'm a nightowl, so the 12-hour difference from the 3DS clock doesn't bother me one bit). Most of my friends claimed to be getting Sun, but most of them actually got Moon instead (liars, all of them). I briefly felt disappointment at Vulpix being Sun-exclusive but managed to get one through the GTS for a Sandshrew. Vulpix was my favorite from the first generation, so I really wanted one to call my own.

I'm 80-something percent finished with the Alola dex; mostly just need to breed/evolve things to finish it up, then trade with someone who has Sun for their Ultra Beasts.

IF I HAD BEEN SMART, I WOULD HAVE KEPT THE EXTRA UBS TO TRADE. Instead, I had a random fit of generosity and sent the excess UBs I had flying away into the Wonder Trade.

I'm actually finding it challenging too, which is a first. I've played since Blue and I don't think I've ever had so many Pokémon faint on me, or come as close to losing a battle as I have in this game.

I don't really start with a certain element each time, it's just whichever I like most of the starters is what I end up with. I couldn't resist the adorable barn owl with a leaf bow tie.

I restarted the game and started with a new starter thinking it might make it easier. But doesn't.

I own both versions, but Sun is my main; I'm 98% done with my Pokedex on it, and the only things I still need Alola Dex-wise are the Moon-exclusive Legendaries and Honchkrow (because Dusk Stones hate me, apparently.) If anyone would like anything bred, feel free to ping me. I would be happy to give you either a hatched Pokemon or an egg if you'd prefer to do the hatching yourself. :) I'm also happy to ensure a certain gender. I'm not yet done collecting Island Scan Pokemon (I'm at about 75% with them) but other than that I have access to everything!

My endgame team on Sun was: Midday Lycanroc, Pom-pom Oricorio, Ribombee, Salazzle, Komala, and Primarina

On Moon I'm about at the climax of the game so will be catching Lunala soon, and my team is: Midnight Lycanroc, Alolan Raichu, Alolan Marowak, Araquanid, Comfey, and Lurantis

I have to admit I'm not nearly as fond of my Moon lineup as I was with Sun! At least not design-wise. My Araquanid has been hard to work with and I've discovered that with both him and Alolan Marowak, I seem to like the Pokemon designs less the more I look at them. :c I'm a little bummed out about it, but I have vague plans for a future Moon playthrough in which I'll be using a bunch of Pokemon from various gens I've been wanting to use, rather than trying to make myself use new Pokemon.

managed to beat Sun now as well as Moon and just caught both Buzzwoles. I plan to send one to Moon and send one of my Pheramosa to Sun. >_> Just need to deside what one of both. None of my Pheramosa have a great nature ( is keeping a Sassy that I nicknamed) and I'll have to check Buzzwole in a moment.

I'm waiting for my Moon to come... Nintendo doesn't work in my country anymore and my game is stuck in customs ;o;

I bought both since I collect the main series Pokemon games, but I started with Moon. I've beaten the game and as of now I'm just breeding a ton of Oshawott in Beast Balls for wonder trade (and a shiny wouldn't hurt either) My team was Primarina, Vikavolt, Salandit (one of my faves), Mudsdale, Crabominable and Kommo-o. While I'm doing random stuff in Moon I just started playing through Sun and my team so far is Incineroar, Salazzle, Toucannon, Pyukumuku and Tsareena

I chose Sun because of Solgaleo and Lycanroc! I also didn't know Alolan Vulpix was on this game, so I'm more than happy with this version :D My current (and permament) team is: Primarina (my fave pokemon), Lycanroc, Salazzle, Toucannon, Mudsdale and Tsareena. I'm a bit disappointed that balls like friend ball, fast ball. heavy ball, etc are just one of a kind in the game -.-

I got Sun first, and play it every now and then, but I find it difficult to get immersed in the whole ... Alolan region. I'm not sure if it's because the pokémon seem to be incredibly easy to catch, or the random battles with trainers as you wander around don't seem to be too helpful/indicative of the level or skill you should be at in between Trials. But some of the Island Trials feel ridiculously difficult. I am breeding Eevee, though, which proves to be an entertaining distraction.

I'm also interested in exchanging friend codes, if anyone's interested!

I restarted before I saw your post xD I'm actually finding it easier now despite sticking to an entirely ghost-based team. Other than a crippling weakness to dark types, I like my team a lot more.

The trainer with the horse is very tough

Yeah Hapu was pretty hard. Thankfully my decidueye was faster than her mudsdale and I 1 hit KOed it before it could use its Z move. I had more trouble with Nanu just because of my type weaknesses. Also the mimikyu was really hard because of the disguise and its speed.

I beat her! I thank pokebeans for this because most of my pokemon toughed it out for me so I upped their pokemon potions. Now what to do lol!

I got moon though I liked the sun legendary over the moon one (sandshrew and sandslash's alt versions sold me lol).

When I read the reviews about the 4388947 cut scenes, I thought nah not a big deal but I'm apparently one of the impatient folks that just. wants. to. get. on. with. the. game. =___=

I also don't know if the update to my 3ds botched up the 3d in the game but there's legit 0 3d in the game thus far and I'm like wtf happened man ???

I got Sun thinking my sister would get Moon and a 3DS for Christmas (never happened: I wound up buying my own 3DS and Sun but my sister needs to get her own ;p) Anywho, my line up is Incineroar, Midday Lycanroc, Tsareena, Jolteon (with the Z-powered Electrium, I think that's what it's called,) Pelipper, and my 6th I swap out for either Solgaleo or something I'm trying to evolve. I gotta figure out the whole Friend Code thing so that I can evolve my Cosmoeom to Lunala, so if anyone's willing to help out, send me a PM (I'll try to respond when I can since I'm not always on Subeta during the week...stupid work...ugh!) I'm also open to receiving "friends" in the game if anyone needs Sun-only Pokemon.
