Does anyone else own a BJD? And is there an issue with the wig falling off and taking off the back of the head with it? And would just a wig cap be the way to fix it maybe?

I have a BJD! I've been told that you can use a tiny piece of velcro on the underside of the wig and the other piece on the scalp of your doll. That supposedly keeps the wig in place. And because you generally have a wig on it doesn't affect the doll's looks at all. I haven't done this yet, I'm not sure the ideal method of attaching it to the resin but something to look into! :) As far as the back of the head... My boy's scalp has a magnet inside the head to hold that on. I never really have an issue with the scalp.

Hey! Greetings from another BJD collector~ I got my first doll (CP LUTS Delf Chiwoo) in 2005 and have 11 dolls and 3 floating heads now. Haha.

As far as head caps coming off with wigs... Velcro is a good fix, but personally I use the silicone wig caps. They keep the wig from moving around and also go over the whole head so a loose head cap won't come off as easily.

Some of my older dolls don't have magnets, so I have to use a rubber band hooked around their S-hook to the head cap. haha

I have 1 doll who is called Elliot O'Hare, His fair came with a cap but I brought him new eyes last month and I was so scared as I'd never changed them before.

I also took him out one night to take photos! (Friends came with me) it was really nice to get some outdoor pictures of him.

I do not have one although I've been admiring them from afar for quite some time. Do you by any chance have tips on how to get into them/where and how to buy your first one?

I'm also interested in which sites might be reputable for reviews or purchasing from? I've always really love the creepy/cute vibe these dolls give off.

Companies that are larger (and on that sense, more reputable/way for beginners) that i recommed are luts, fairyland, soom and iplehouse. Now keep in mind anything you order can take a month or moor to ship, let alone production time. You got to be patient with bjds
You can also get a lot of secondhand dolls on the forums at den of angels. Depending on your personality you might like the social aspect too (I personally am not as big on the community, but I am not into photostories and role playing and crap so it was def not for me)

Not sure if you're still interested, but BJD Collectasy is a great place. They have a links to several companies. There's also the forum, Den of Angels, which has a marketplace you can access after meeting the requirements (certain amount of posts + how long you've been a member). But, it has plenty of areas you can access right away like wikis, databases, discussions, galleries, news. There is so much info, but the community is helpful. ^^ I'm also happy to answer questions. I've been collecting a long time (and have a stupid amount of dolls lol), so I figure I can probably help somehow. ^^

I've been in the hobby for 10 years and am now wondering if I've ever run across you and your dolls. Yay for long time collectors. :D

I mostly hermit nowadays (used to be pretty active on DoA and dA), but I do post on instagram sometimes. I need to get back into that, actually. ^^
