This is a very cool thread, thank you so much. I have one to add which is actually MY real life name: Gwendelynn

It's obviously a derivation of Gwendolyn (and there are a lot of those here, with many slight differences, but none the way I spell it) I've met at least one person named Gwendelynn whose parents named her that, while I (re)named myself.

Oh, and here's another: Cerredwyn, another truly real (and also Welsh) name that nobody has thought to use for a pet. So many people here who love mythology and such, and that's one of those ancient and lovely names. I am not going to name a pet Cerredwyn but someone else might like it--it is also a spelling derivation of the more popular Cerredwin.
