Yes please~ I think I've got all the achievements for minions I was around for, but it's looking like I'm not going to find Puck this year and I'd love a second chance + an opportunity to get the others, assuming I can ever let myself check a region other than 1 >_<

The minions can be really hard to find even if you check nearly as often as possible, in the correct area of the patch, while wearing the minion nip. As long as the minions are available to find in the patch, I think it makes sense for the achievements to be available.

Having achievements for finding all the minions is fun, I just don't get why it has to be same year. Just change the wording of the achievements to only say like "Find Oowel in the Pumpkin Patch!" instead of saying newest minion.

I'm pretty sure I checked in Oowel's patch constantly on its year of release and never managed to find it, so yeah I would support a change to these achievements to open them up.

There's no reason for achievements around reoccurring minions in a reoccurring event should be retired after the first year they appear. If you can still find them, you should just get the achievement for them. The only time anything should be retired is if you can't do that event anymore, such as the organ stuff from Survival. I wasn't there for that and it (probably) won't happen again, so it's fair enough that those are retired.

But this makes no sense. It's just kind of stupid. It's not even hard, it's just random.

Yes please. I've worn minion nip every single year and I've never found the right one for that years special achievement title. I'd love a chance to try again.

Agreed, it's not like it's really all that hard to visit the Pumpkin Patch and try for a minion. But the randomness of it (and the seemingly low probability of finding a minion in the first place, even if you have the minion nip) means that some unlucky people may not be able to find the new minion (or any minion), even if they visit a lot and check the right section.

I've found Echo like 5 times so far this year, but last year I only found Puck maybe twice. And the first time was about a week into the event, and that was while I was wearing the minion nip and visiting almost as often as I could whenever I was online.

I don't like this idea. Not every Achievement should be easy. Not every Achievement should be completely within user-control or the user's means of production. Yep, it's got a random factor, and I guess I'm lucky because I'm only missing two of them. But that's just it I missed out on them because that's the luck of it. Games of chance, they work that way. Because they're games of chance.

It's true that no item truly retires in Subeta. But Achievements that are time-sensitive or event-sensitive totally do. Finding the year's new Minion isn't a mechanical 'just find the damn thing' Achievement, it's a fashion Achievement. After the first year, like other users already in this thread have pointed out, the novelty has worn off. Nobody much wants to see them anymore, so it's not such the big deal to find it.

I totally support this! I was away during some of the years when these older minion achievements were available to be obtained. I echo everyone's thoughts on this - finding a minion is pretty hard already since it's completely random, and we only have limited time to find them.

We should give the chance to people who were not able to find that minion in that year, people who were away or new users who joined. I never really understood why the minions achievements were only available for the year that it was released in. Last year I found one of the older minions and realised that I couldn't get the achievement and was feeling pretty disappointed. I know some people may be up in arms about these achievements being exclusive, but I have the Oowel Finder achievement from 2009, and I totally don't mind at all if people were able to get them again. I support accessibility and opportunity.

Also, I really want to see and back in the Patch. Both of them haven't been seen for years, so I've heard on the forums. Both are needed for the Jaxon's minion achievement.

Omg yes please. I have terrible minion luck, even with the minion nip and visiting the patch as much as I can, I think I only have the horse (is that Puck? I can't remember) and Echo. I've always wondered why they get retired after the event ends, it doesn't seem to make any sense.
