Good afternoon, thanks for the ping. (if it happens I go missing it's only because my husband has been readmitted to the hospital. RL is a bit more stressful these day!)

Thanks for the ping. He's coming along, slowly but surely. He has chronic kidney disease with 1 functioning kidney. That's when things are our 'normal'. The problem is he developed a kidney infection that went right through his system that left him in a state of delirium which I call dementia. He didn't know where he was or even who I was. Scary stuff! It took 3 days to find the antibiotic which set him in the right direction. His mind is now clear (YES! YES! YES!) and the doc's are doing 'clean-up' to clear his system of the sepsis. His legs are so weak he can not walk so I'm not sure what the next step is. Is he coming home in a "few days" or is he going to rehab?

Thanks for the ping. Most of the infection has been cleared. I say that because I noticed he was back on IV late yesterday and it was a small bag (antibiotics) rather than a large bag (electrolytes). He hasn't walked unaided in 7.5 months and now he's even unable to stand without help. I was told yesterday that rather than being released to home he'll be sent to rehab, which is 1 floor down, so easy for me to get to him. We've got a ways to go yet, but at least we're moving in the right direction!
