I read your journal from start to finish! What an amazing blessing that this family has your family to help them. I wish you lots of happieness on your new journey.

I can relate to Jack's struggles, being a mom who has dealt with add with my own two sons. Kids can be cruel but some adults can really be monsters spreading poison. I too had to set principles, counselors and teachers straight on the fact that I knew what my childrens rights were and would always protect those rights. One of my son's had to be placed in a 12 step anger management program and his counselor was awesome. I will forever be thankful to her for helping my son and helping me as well to learn to "pick and choose my battles carefully and not focus any of my strength and energy on the little ones that don't really matter.

Have finished reading once again. And what a way you have with words. I could visualize everything as well as feel the happiness and sadness. You and Jack's family are both blessed by knowing each other. Where this will go from here, I have no idea, but I am sure there will be good times and bad times and that the good times will out do the bad by 1000 to 1. I admire you and your attitude. The world needs more "Laurie's" but by you being here you have made it a better place. Tell Jack that he has been adopted into the Lair and he has us all cheering for him.
