Oh, that's a good thought about the Butterface person being Shinwa or the Oracle.

Or maybe these civilizations are so old, they predate even their arrival to Subeta. I hope we find out which it is, but maybe they will leave some things of this plot open if they have another future sequel plot planned or something.

I'm wondering about Merana. Lots of people seem to think that she's going to be the "big bad" but that snippet on her page would indicate that she isn't, in this case. Unless it's some kind of elaborate double-bluff.

Did anybody save the image of when all 3 opponents were in the tomb? I forgot to save it and don't have a brain from my many hours of homework/being at college. If you have the image, please dm me!

Yeah I'm really not sure. One of my theories is that the civilizations here predate the Shinwa/Merana thing, but then once Merana was exiled to the Omen Islands the people started worshiping her (or at least trying to appease her to avoid her wrath), and maybe they added her image to the ancient temple as a way to convert it into something for her instead of the older being the temple was originally for.

And then there's the mysterious volcano beast, not exactly sure how that fits into everything.

erm... I know the volcano from the Omen Island village is not the same but, as anybody else have notice we CAN'T actually click to Merana's temple? All other locations in the village still works : vending machine, port, fishing... but not Merana's shrine... This looks bad to me!
