You should, i maybe spent 30 minutes making one, and you'll get a forum title for submitting an entry
No worries, i just figured you got caught up in studying, what are you going to school for if i may ask? I graduated in 2010 in respiratory therapy. (god i sound old)
I'm majoring in psychology, but I have no idea what I'm going to do after I've graduated D:
Oh wow, so are you in a job related to your field of study? I'm just wondering, because I don't even know if I'd want a job related to my degree, and most jobs require an additional degree so... D:
Oh neat! And yes, im a respiratory therapist, it took me 6 months to find a job (because EVERYBODY wants you to have experience) and i had to move 3 hours away from home, but i got my 2 years experience, moved back home, then decided i hated where i worked down there and moved to Raleigh (Im in North Carolina) 3 months ago and so far im really enjoying it up here.
I could get my bachelors but i just have no motivation to go back to school
I feel you on having no idea what I'm doing after school, lol.
what does respirational therapy entail?
Im just going to copy and paste because its way too much for me to try to explain lol, i know some countries dont have respiratory therapist, but here in the USA this is what i do
"A respiratory therapist is a specialized healthcare practitioner trained in pulmonary medicine in order to work therapeutically with people suffering pulmonary disease, who has graduated from a university and passed a national board certifying examination. Respiratory therapists work most often in intensive care and operating rooms, but are also found in outpatient clinics and home-health environments.
Respiratory therapists are specialists and educators in cardiology and pulmonology. Respiratory therapists are clinicians trained in advanced airway management; establishing and maintaining the airway during management of trauma, intensive care, and may administer anaesthesia for surgery or conscious sedation.
Respiratory therapists initiate and manage life support for people in intensive care units and emergency departments, stabilizing, treating and managing pre-hospital and hospital-to-hospital patient transport by air or ground ambulance.
In the outpatient setting Respiratory Therapists work as educators in asthma clinics, ancillary clinical staff in pediatric clinics, and sleep-disorder diagnosticians in sleep-clinics. They also serve as clinical providers in cardiology clinics and cath-labs."
I may be involved with something as simple as giving somebody a breathing treatment or instructing them on how to use an MDI, or it could be a life or death situation where i am literally breathing for the patient.
I know right!?!
So how's your day been?
At least you ended up where you want to be! :D HAHA I have no motivation to study either... I've never taken the summer semester off and I just feel exhausted...
I dont blame you, i wouldnt have any motivation either! I used to find ANYTHING else to do other than studying, whether it be cleaning, whatever lol
Totally! I just need a break sometimes D:
So, how's your day been?
Oh wow, sounds like you have a lot of variation in your job then. And it sounds intense. At least you're probably never bored? lol. I'm trying to get a low key job 😂
My days are starting to blur together this week lol, can't believe I have to start school on Monday already. How did your psych final go?
HAHA I've definitely had my days blur together! Oh man, have fun School is just a dread for me now D: I don't want to go back T_T
It went alright, I think! :) Thanks for asking
Yeah and I feel like I have so much to get done still :( get a desk for my room and buy a new backpack cuz my current one is breaking. and finish organizing my room....and the rest of the house. and our fourth roommate hasn't even moved in yet LOL.
When do you have to go back to school?
Aw D: Ooh desk-hunting sounds fun! Do you have a desk in mind?
OMG my backpack is breaking too D: The thread holding the zipper in the appropriate place is coming apart. My quick fix is super glue, but even that didn't hold D: I'm just going to super-glue it again, hahaha
haha, well do you know when your roommate will move in? I mean, there's only a few more days until school starts!
Class starts on September 6th for me! Which only gives me around 2 and a half weeks of rest D: It's not enough!!! I need moooore
Well there is a student-to-student sale in my town this weekend so I'm hoping to pick up a used desk for cheap.
Backpacks are sooo expensive too D: And that's something I don't want to buy used, idk why. Mostly because I know how much I sweat on mine walking back and forth to school...LOL.
Last roomie moves in tomorrow so he only has the weekend to prepare for school haha.
Ahh so you don't start until after Labor Day. Well it's your last year so it's the final push! the final push for that degree baby lol.
Oh, I see. Well good luck! :D I hope you'll find a good one, hahaa
-nods- totally. Mine was on sale so I got it for $20! But yeah, I wouldn't want to buy it used either...
HAHA poor him Last-ish. I have about a year and a half to go D: And it feels like it's going to be forever...
The desk hunt is still on...
Ooh I thought you had said you had a year left. Still not so bad! It will go by fast. :D
Enjoying your break so far?
Oh no D: You can build your own desk for cheap at IKEA! :P
It's close to a year ^^ I hope so D: but don't, at the same time. I still don't know what kind of job I want to go into yet, or if I will even land a job D:
Yuup! :D There's not a lot of time before school starts again though T_T
I would consider IKEA but unfortunately we don't live close to any. :(
Samesies about the job worries. Sometimes it takes time. Are you willing to move far away for a job offer?
I'm thinking about how this is my last free night and I'm so sad. lol.
Aw man D: That sucks IKEA is nice and affordable, I think.
Yeah, that's true. And right now, I probably wouldn't move away, just because I want to stay close to my family, and also, I'm just so used to everything here so moving away would be kind of sad
Aww good luck with school! I hope you find a desk soon o_o
How does the desk hunting?
And how's school so far?
HI How are ya?
Hey, sorry i must have missed that last ping earlier, im doing good, sleep schedule is all out of whack, but i guess thats what i get for working nights. How are you?
It's okay! I figured as much :D
My sleep schedule is never normal either. I prefer to be a night owl, hahaha
I'm doing okay! School is going to start in a week, and it feels like time has passed so quickly... D: Also, nice HA! :D
And are you going to be off the night shift schedule anytime soon?
