Aw no! I was lucky enough to catch a Wartortle here just the other day, but my GF keeps missing Squirtles, too. I managed to get a Jinx, too.

Good call on the higher CP. It's ridiculous how quickly you need like 1800 stardust to increase CP after you've powered them up a bit. I'm at an impasse with my Pidgeot because I'm low on stardust haha.

I'm so happy i have quite a bit of water pokemon around my house. Even though there's no water, lol.

Perhaps they considered the area to have reservoirs a long time ago...that could be why. I've caught a squirtle and magikarps. Goldeens come close but not close enough unless i walk around, but i prefer to walk with company and not alone. My hubby is at work most of the time.

My strongest is an Arcanine with 921 cp and i'm currently at level 13. I'm so slow at leveling lol.

I literally walked in my nearest lake just to get some water pokemon.

I live in the suburbs in the midwest somewhere so there's a good variety of the usual rattatas, weedles, zubats, and pidgeys. Also a good amount of Spearows, Caterpie, and Eevee! I luv my Eevees. Water/ice pokemon will also show up near ponds or just randomly in the middle of buildings. Not many fire or rock though.

Yes! I like that lucky egg idea. I'm trying to build up my candy reserves so i can level pokemon while my lucky egg is active. :p

I just get very impatient and want to use my candies to make my pokemon stronger but i should focus on my level because if i make them too strong i hit my cap for my level.

It's such a good strategy! I also try to use a lucky egg only when I have an egg or two about to hatch. What level are you now? I just hit 16 last night, and I totally regret using candies to level up my Vaporeon because now I just keep catching ridiculously strong eevees.

Vulpixes are also adorable ahh. I also love ponytas, you can catch them in parks sometimes which is weird but I'm not complaining.

I'm home all day so my exp is sparce. I'm still level 13 but closer to 14 now since i last posted. I should be able to get some exp this weekend if my hubby and i go out to some pokestops.

I'm so jealous! I love ponytas haha. Omg it seems like Psyducks just show up a little randomly, same with other psychic pokemon. Apparently there's a big concentration near a Target/strip mall near where I work though, so... target?

Maybe take a walk in a nice downtown area if there are any suburbs near you with one? My town's downtown is literally one street, so I also don't catch many near my house.

That's what my hubby and i do too, we stop by the city college and walk around. We might try that place this weekend. Either that or River Park, its a major shoping area with a theater and restaurants. Its outdoors too like the city college. Unfortunately the severe heat and poor air quality are keeping us in the week. The smoke from Big Sur and the Sands fire in LA are blowing into the Central Valley.

If we go early in the morning we should be ok. I need to level up so badly.

You know what, i keep forgetting to check around Targets lol. A Kabuto and Kabutops keep teasing me. They move up the tracker menu and the drop instantly. ;-;

It can get kind of crazy in my neighborhood so i dont dare walk alone around here. There are so many pokestops downtown. I think they did that to every city's downtown, its so wild. I was downtown several weeks ago and there were like 10 in a close vicinity.

I live in an apartment complex nearby a small park. There's an abundance of Pidgey, Rattata, and Weedle. Less commonly, Eevee , Nidoran male and female, Oddish, Caterpie, and Belsprout. Those are the ones I see the most often, though on somewhat rare occasion I do find some water pokemon lurking around while I walk my dog, and sometimes starters though I've yet to actually find/catch anything outside of a lone Pikachu x) I've had an Electabuzz, Jynx, and Snorlax show up on my radar near where I live, but each time I couldn't find them.

I'm especially salty about Snorlax because I walked around in the rain at night for ~45 minutes trying to find it to no avail xP Bleh, I wish they would bring tracking back or something. Maybe I'm just bad at hunting or have bad luck with it, haha.

I wish I could catch water type pokemon. It would help a lot with all the gyms around here. I live in a desert, so it's all fire and ground types. Excluding the common Pidgey, Rattata, and Zubat, I catch a lot more Growlithes, Ekans, Sandshrews and Mankeys. I think there's a Rhyhorn nest at the foot of the mountain where I am because it's always there. But I only have one gym close to me and 2 pokestops within a 1-2 miles around me. Hope when I have to go back to college, I'll be catching a lot more water types to take on all the fire types here. Though, seeing a 2000+ Vaporeon, Dragonite and Gyarados in some of these gyms are daunting.

Y'all, going to different places gets so you so many different/new pokemon. I was actually in Dubai for a family vacation and played Pokemon in the airport/mall while we were there. There were lots of Ekans, Cubones, and random ones like Kabuto or Tentacool.

I think I sort of understand how it works? The Pokemon reorder themselves in a game of "hot & cold" as you move closer to or further away from them. Ish. Still not that great.
