Day 2 begins! Yesterday's answers had me cracking up. Happy to see so many Hitchhiker's Guide references. :P A handy towel is never a bad idea. Yesterday's winner is the lucky ! You can pick up your prize here: Lot
What media (movie/book/comic/tv show/etc) have you seen that you think represents the "future" best, in your opinion? Or the future that you would WANT to see?
Day 2:
Bahaha for starters I've felt that the Simpsons accurately predict the future at times ;) As for "futuristic" like- life- I'm gonna go ahead and choose The Jetsons because I barely watch new tv shows... so thats one from memory ;) and its pretty legit - would be cool if we drove around in little ships :*
The Walking Dead. hahaha Definitely zombies awaiting us!
(can you tell I have spent most of the day chatting up ?)
@ Tartelette
Ok the representation of the future that I think is most real and or that I want to see come to fruition would be the Star Trek universe. I want to marry a Vulcan!

I really really extremely want:Oh man, this is a hard question! I'm... going to be really cheesy here and say I'd like it if the future was something like Star Trek, because the idea of the world at peace and oriented towards scientific development and exploration is really nice. One thing that's kind of interesting to note watching Star Trek is that despite that being a core concept, of projecting a better future to strive for, it's still definitely written from a place where things aren't perfect and non-bigoted and sometimes things slip through. Like, if you look at classic Trek now it seems pretty sexist, despite the fact that it was genuinely pushing the envelope for the time period with cast members like Nichelle Nicols and George Takei playing major characters who weren't treated differently by other characters for being nonwhite. But if you think about it, the fact that classic Trek is definitely stale in places socially is a good thing because it shows how we've been advancing since it was written.
HAHAHAAA , , (My Buds!! hahaha)
DUNE Corporations are taking over the world! (money rules the world(s))
I hope videogames count as some kind of media, because I adore the Mass Effect games and their portrayal of the future absolutely and completely! they really are such vibrant, multilayered games, and space in them is absolutely gorgeous <3
Guardians of the Galaxy, because everyone needs a baby Groot (or, at least, I do)
arts by the amazing
I would love to be a part of a future that involves exploring other habitable worlds, like in Avatar. But realistically, I'd say the future will end up more like in Wall-E...haha.
I think the Star Trek universe best represents the 'future' that I'm hoping for. I mean space travel! Aliens! Transporters!
Ahaha. Groot's little yawn/stretch on Drax near the end of the movie. /melt/ I'm 20 weeks pregnant now, and we call the baby "Baby Groot", even though she's a girl. We've got all kinds of baby Groot onesies, costumes, etc for her for when she arrives.
My favorite show about the future has always been Dark Angel, though I hope we never have to experience a pulse like that. I would really like a future like the one in Jayne Ann Krentz Harmony series.
How things are going I picture more world like Fallout really
Oh gosh, this is hard. :/ I'm going to have to go with Star Trek though, I'd love to work inside the Federation. Not sure what I'd even do but it just seems like it would be a good place.

OOOooo, I would LOVE it to be like Harmony!!! (LOOVE that series)
(and you all are so silly. cause Really REALITY says the "future" is going to be "Who has the most money/power/control")
heh.
(i would WISH it was more 'star trek')
