Scavenger hunt! Backstory challenge for the items! Guessing games! Maybe something like wheel of fortune where people have to guess phrases throughout the week for points towards "entries" to an exclusive item raffle?

Back when and a few others had the CW festival, one of my favorite events was the contest where you had 30 different tents and there was a prize under each tent. Once the ping went out, people had to scramble for available tents and only one person could claim per tent. Once all 30 were claimed the random prizes under each went out. I also liked the event where you had to identify different parts of Subeta by only seeing a piece of a small image (ie: if the location was the wizard's house, you might only see a picture of the top of the tower). HA contests of course are also one of my favorites =p

I was thinking the same thing about the dragon companion! :o
