Do you have the add-on NoScript installed by chance?
An ad-blocker might cause this too. I would recommend temporarily disabling it to see if it makes a different. You might have to re-open the browser.
Are you using the most recently version of Chrome? I just updated mine this morning.
Are you by chance able to check another browser to see if you get the same results? It might help narrow it down. :)
It might mean that your javascript isn't enabled on Chrome then. It should be easy to check/enable, so probably worth looking into :P

Hrm, then it sounds like an add-on. :( But if you've already tried disabling them, then I'm not sure.
