Yes, of course. I have some dark brown yarn already, so that'll be no trouble. I don't mind taking payments after I'm done. It's not a big deal, and I trust you. :)
- Just tell me what you'd like and I can make it happen. Just let me know! c:
Well, material cost sums to $1015, and I'd prefer it to be paid in USD. I expect also a tip of at least $1015 or CSC equivalent.
If this is within your price range, we can talk about colors and yarn types.
Hey! I have a quick question -- is it possible for you to work off a pattern but slightly tweak it to make it a little bigger?
I have this in mind: http://www.allaboutami.com/post/110137194091/lambpattern (I'm not exactly sure how big it is, my head started spinning trying to read through the pattern... @)
Additionally, if you're able to give a price quote, that would be wonderful! ^^
Thank you! <3
(I've run across that pattern before, and I'd love to give it a try!)
Using my regular hooks and styles, this lamb would come out around 5~6in tall. The head should be a bit larger than the average fist. How large would you like it to be? Keep in mind that a larger plush may cost more in yarn and shipping.
Without size modification, the price would come out to $34 for fluffy yarn, and $34 for U.S. shipping.
Oh, that actually sounds pretty good -- I was thinking around 7 or so inches, so 5-6 inches is much closer than I originally expected (I was thinking it looked to be around 3 or so inches from the photo, haha). Do you know how much it'd be if you were to make it an inch or so bigger (or would that be too hard, since it's not as exact as just doubling the size, etc.)?
I can use a slightly larger hook than I normally use to make it a little bit larger, although it's hard to estimate the finished size, so I won't promise an exact dimension. And I can only tweak it a limited amount without straight-up doubling everything.
Pricing-wise, it'll probably use not that much more yarn, and put it closer to $4 for shipping, so that makes it $7~8. :)
No worries -- I don't want to over-complicate it! Just one question (I'm completely ignorant when it comes to crocheting, sorry!) -- would using a larger hook make the holes between the yarn larger and let the stuffing inside show through more easily?
And $7-8 is fine, if you're okay with CSC payment for this? :)
Larger hook size = larger holes in general, but within the limits of what I'm proposing, it wouldn't make a noticeable difference. The stuffing won't show through or fall out or anything like that.
It's a somewhat pricier project, so even a partial payment in USD to offset my out-of-pocket cost would be greatly appreciated. If not, I can accept an overpay in CSC, and I do expect a generous tip.
If that all sounds good to you, I can put you down for the slot and go shopping for the yarn. I do have two commissions in line before you however, so I may not be able to work on this right away.
Good to know, thanks for clarifying!
How much of an overpay in CSC and how much tip were you thinking? I have about 1025 CSC at the moment, and can purchase around 250 more with my on-hand sP. I can also try to sell one of my CWs if necessary. Let me know -- I want to make sure I have enough to pay you!
$1 = 130CSC to me, so 1k CSC is about right to cover my costs. I would expect tips to be in the 1k2k range, from past experience. 250CSC would definitely be on the low end for something I'll spend 56 hours working on.
That's super helpful to know, thanks! As a side question, about how long a wait would you estimate if there are two orders ahead of me? If there's some time, I can probably rack up enough CSC without selling one of my CWs, but if not, I can just sell one to make up for the difference. :)
EDIT: Sorry, I just realized I never actually confirmed -- yes, I would like the last slot please! <3
Sure thing, you're down for the slot!
It'll be at least 2~3 weeks until I finish your project and payment is due. But please take your time. I don't want you to under-sell a CW just for a tip. I can also hold the finished project for a week or more to give you more time to gather payment, if necessary.
Thank you for checking all the details so carefully with me beforehand. I appreciate it and look forward to making this cute little lamb for you! :)
Oh, that's awesome. Thanks for being so accommodating! :)
I can't wait to see the finished product <3
Quick question -- for future reference when your slots open up again, are you able to make things without a pattern (ex, if I had photos of the finished product, but not a copy of the pattern)? I want to gift something for a friend, but I only have the photos she shared with me and not a pattern. ^^; Thanks!
Hi, sorry for the late response - your ping did not go through after your edit. Please shoot me a comment/sMail if you don't hear back from me for more than a day or two.
Unfortunately, for most things, I'm unable to make it from just reference pictures of the finished project. A few exceptions are things like scarves with simple patterns, small modifications to a pattern (ex. adding a flower), and plush made from very simple shapes (ex. the snail from my examples). Feel free to let me know what you're looking for when you have a chance to grab another slot.
No worries, and sounds good :) Thanks!
EDIT: I see you have the third slot open; my friend sent me this photo: click! and I wanted to see if I could surprise her with one :) It looks like it's much more complicated than just simple shapes put together though, haha ^^;
I can ask her/look around and see if I can find a pattern for it :)
Sorry, I'm afraid that one is much too complicated for me to make without a pattern. Let me know if you find a pattern or have something else in mind.
And a few heads-up:
Sounds good, I texted my friend so I'll let you know as soon as she responds!
Gotcha; will shipping the lamb and deer together save money/? I just re-read your first post; I'm assuming the deer will be in the $20 category if it's around 7-8 inches, like the lamb? :)
