The LINK is a member of your team, but is NOT actively participating in everything (stress, family, job, time away, baby, etc.) This member is only activated when needed, does not get any sort of "regular" score, but can give input on a hard spot AND, more important, can ask me for a clue (maybe more, if the situation is really tough.) This clue is guaranteed to be VERY helpful.

This doesn't mean you can't ask, nor does it mean that you can call on the Link every time you want an extra hint on a puzzle. I will make it fairly obvious when that member would be appropriate.

The Link only plays the event in this helping capacity. This is to allow the folks who would like to be involved a bit, but can play outright to still do so, should they desire.

Remember, Traveler can always play up and do stuff from Adventurer mode for extra credit.

If you're already doing something similar, then you have it covered. These suggestions are to relieve the stumbling blocks, stress makers, and infighting within teams that caused folks grief last round. Everyone doesn't need all these folks.

That depends on the Link. Roleplaying the character would be more than welcome. did something like that very well in WS2. However, it's optional, and I leave that up to the team and the person "linking."

They'll probably be a limit. Let me plot out the full story with the challenges added a little more, and I'll have a better idea of where those needed spots will be. I will balance this for sure if folks are liking this and it goes into play.

You're welcome. I had judges exhausted from trying to read their way through some entries, including ones that required linking offsite to a different format. Fair judging was way harder, too.

Thank you :-D hugs tight I'm celebrating this year by going to the French quarter in Louisiana for the first time with my sister. We don't drink so it's been funny watching people act crazy. But the city/historic things are amazing to see. We just arrived yesterday and previous to that I had been out of the country on "forced vacation" lol like a holiday that you have to take(because I never go on vacations). Good ideas with the designated person. I sorta already took member writing and made a complete entry out of it in the past, but writing for others is something I've not yet done. I always try to get input from the character's person when I do, but I've offered to do the writing if needed. As for the Link...hm. Interesting. Hey , would you wanna be a clue-getter if one is needed, and not really participating? You could still help with puzzles if you like, it sounds like, or other things, but much lighter duties.

Sounds good hon. So The Link is an emergency person with strong skills in research right? Could we get a list of people volunteering for that position? It would help to know who wants to participate in that position but can't do the rest that way we don't have to use one of our vital people for the rest of it. I know that the first year Laurie was with us it was in that position and it was a tremendous help to our team.
