Awww man I would kill you :p! I hate not knowing what to get people but then nobody ever suggests to me what they want except my mum who dictates her presents XD! I like to listen to people throughout the year talk about things they like etc and then get them a surprise to do with it :D! Everyone of my friends love getting presents from me (or so they say haha!)
Oh I see :D!!! I love the wee bags that open on subeta :D! last year I won a spiritbound costume trunk in a competition and I didnt know what it was so I was just gonna sell it then Achilles was like "why havent you opened it?" and I was like O______________O!
Ahh that makes sense :D! Does subeta often not approve CWs? :O!
I do love body sprays :D! I always forget about them tho until its super warm outside! And that never happens XD! The one that is currently in my handbag has been there for 2 years now hahaha
Haha they are all mainly fruity! The Onika one is more of a professional smell and the rest are kind of like casual/party types :D! Onika is my favourite :D! Oh yes! She has:
Pink Friday, Minajesty, Onika, Pinkprint, and Trini Girl :D! Pinkprint is a bit rotten tho XD! I legit wear it to situations I want to leave quickly hah!
You have never had gumbo :O Its a whole bunch of sea food items mixed up with a roue in a big pot and cooked for a ton of hours served over rice. Its really yummy!!!
I am the same way, if they say they like something I take note of it to buy for the holidays XD They are always super happy with my gifts even if it isn't what they asked for XD
Woohoo!! :D Thanks for the heads up! I'm very excited, indeed!! :D 🎉
How are you doing today?
Yeah, I think it really is mainly just because his father is such a bad cook... I mean, he made me salmon once, and he cooked the tiny piece for a solid ten minutes or so on each side, in a frying pan... That stuff was like leather... but also pasty... Really bad. His father also believes that the instant you take a pan off the burner, it cools, or something. So if the rest of the food isn't done, he'll leave the meat/fish in the hot pan, and just set it off to the side. So of course, it keeps cooking... It's truly dreadful.
I think the thing with the sushi was that he didn't even know it was fish. We went to a quite fancy place with a fancy buffet for New Years the first year we were together, and so he was being polite, trying everything, and he ate a bunch of the sushi before I told him it had fish in it... So I think he realized it wasn't that bad. But he still doesn't believe in other fish, and he doesn't like TOO much smoked salmon, either. Because he still has the childhood hatred for the stuff ingrained in him...
But yeah, we always cut up avocado, carrots, cucumbers, and sometimes other veggies to throw in, too. Actually, when we make our own sushi, we often invite friends over for it (you have to make more of it, but you share the work, plus everyone feel can feel proud of learning how to make something "hard")... So we slice up everything we have that might be nice, stack it up in piles on the cutting boards, show everyone how to roll one, and then let everyone go at it. :P Sometimes we do spring rolls, too, at the same time (the ones in the fresh see-through wrappers, not the fried ones). It's really fun! Leaves the kitchen as a real mess, but it's fun. :O
I would love to make my own clam chowder, but actually, I find oysters and clams really difficult to get here... You can get canned muscles, and on occasion you can find fresh stuff for quite expensive, but that's about it for shellfish. And even green shrimp are hard to get. They mostly only sell the pre-cooked ones. I buy my shrimp at the asian grocery, so I can get the raw ones.
Oo, I love "All I Want for Christmas"... it's lovely from any singer with a sultry voice! I have so many favorites... It's terrible. I guess I really love "White Christmas" (and I always watch the film when I put up the Christmas tree, a tradition I've more recently forced on my husband :O). I also really love "The Little Drummer Boy"... "Oh Holy Night" has to be one of my absolute tops, but only if the singer has the range for it... I've heard way too many women try to sing it in church and fail, because it goes so high AND so low... And "I'll Be Home For Christmas"... It's super sad, especially these days, now that I know I won't see much of my family for Christmas most years, but I've always loved it. It's such a beautiful song... And "What Child Is This". Greensleeves is just such a pretty tune...
Okay, I'm incapable of picking just one...
Sorry about your food... I have to admit, I'm terrible about that stuff, though. My grandma use to make me mac and cheese for lunch, and she was old-fashioned, and not that used to having a fridge, so she always left the extra in the pan on the back burner, and then she would just warm it up again the next day, and sometimes again the day after. I figure if I lived through that, I don't have to be TOO careful! But I think the official health guidelines say four hours for most food. If you leave it out longer than that, then you're supposed to pitch it. I dunno. I leave stuff out all night but still keep it. But then, we also freeze it as soon as we put it away, so it doesn't sit in the fridge, too, afterwards... shrugs
Hah, there are worse people than the ones who won't tell you waht to get! My sister-in-law is a dictator. She often told us the exact color, pattern, size, etc. of something we were supposed to get at a specific store. So far so good, right? But then, before Christmas, she'd wind up buying the thing herself. One time, she had us buy a pink glittery tutu from Target for one of her girls. Then, at Christmas, Cordelia opened it, and went, "Why did you get me this? I already have one. My mom bought it for me last week." -_- Worst EVER! And she has also carefully taught them to react badly to all gifts. Even when they like a gift, they'll often open it with a frown, and be like "Why did you give me THAT." My mom got them an American Girl-style doll, and they "hated it"... Same reaction their mother usually gives when she gets a gift. :O But, I went to visit them about two weeks later, and that doll had magically become there absolute favorite, which they were thrilled to show me when they invited me to their rooms... So it's absolutely just what she's trained them to do!

Oh gosh that does sound awful D: Fish is only like a few minutes on each side!
I made sushi rolls with my parents japanese friend once. She taught us how to make all kinds. I love spring rolls, -drools- would love to learn how to make them!
I get clams for like 3 bucks for a whole big pot of clam chowder, wonder why it is so hard to find there?
Little Drummer boy is sooo good! I got the chills listening to it the other day XD My coworker had never heard it and I was like PUT THAT ON NOW! I also like White Christmas. It is so pretty! I didn't know who sang that the other day and my husband turned to me and was all are you stupid DX lol
Yeah I know you really aren't supposed to have it after 4 hours but hate to waste it. its good Roast beef D:
Thanks so much! Excited to be here and that sounds like it's gonna be a lot of fun! Looking forward to it ^_^
I hope it's not spoiled! ;_;
Whew, my headache from heck just keeps on coming back. At least the month-long cold wannabe virus thing seems to be mostly faded away now.
I hope everyone has enjoyed their fun with fireside. It's always fun to quest when there are floatie events going on. Makes it feel like I make even more progress during it :D
Anyone reached their Subeta goals for the month? December is almost here!
Hi hi! :D I'm very good, thanks! How are you? :D
It looks like we have another new member! Please welcome !! c:
Welcome to all the new members!!! 👋 👋 👋
I don't know if you guys noticed in the Giveaway forum there's a new giveaway: "3rd Annual Pay it Forward Giveaway!' I want to make it clear at this point, I am NOT running this giveaway and have nothing to do with it.
One of the ways to earn entries is to nominate someone and another way to earn entries is to have someone nominate you. You can only nominate one person a day and you can only be nominated once a day. Also when you enter someone (by nominating them) you have to decide which prize they will be entered for.
I was thinking if an even number of pinkbuns are interested it might nice to pair off. For example and I have decided to team up. I will nominate each day and will nominate me, to help us both increase how many entries we will get through out the giveaway and to make sure we are entered for the prizes we are actually interested in.
Obviously no one has to do this or if you just want to nominate different people each day that's totally fine. But if you want to make sure to nominate someone and be nominated in turn I thought it might be nice for the pinkbuns to work together.
thanks guys! I hope I'll get to be more active on subeta's community now that i've found you! :3

Weird... How come some posts have gone blank?
But yeah...
My husband says its because Switzerland is so far from the oceans, that they never had much, and so now most seafood just isn't culturally significant. I dunno, though. I mean, Switzerland is a lot closer to the ocean than South Dakota is, and that's where I grew up! They are super conscientious about eating stuff from closer to home, though. It's really hard to find even normal fruit out of season (like strawberries... good luck with that!).
Welcome to the group!
