Good! Just got REALLY busy since Xmas, but now I'm better.

Dear I wanted to let you all know I'm alright despite all I'm going through. For those of you that don't know, I live in Puerto Rico and we were recently being hit by two major hurricanes Irma and Maria. The second has destroyed the island. There is no power in 90% of the island, originally no one had but there isn't much hope for it to be restored until late December if we are lucky. Many places have no water and it was reported just a few days ago all water is contaminated: rivers, beaches, all - including the one delivered to our homes. Getting food supplies is not so easy, the gasoline is now easier to get than the first few weeks in where you had to make six hours lines and maybe get nothing. The center of the island was mostly hurt and still today many cities are isolated since roads and bridges have collapsed. Most trees are completely leaveless or on the ground, power posts on the ground, houses completely gone or inhabitable. So the reason I haven't been online is because also the communications are terrible at the moment so it's very hard to find signal.

Despite all- I'm well, my house is okay, the wooden terrace was badly hurt but the rest of the house is intact. I have water, food, and my family is well too. Sorry for not being around, hopefully I would be able to return soon.

Things are still the same: no power, no water, no work, and only problems. Time seems to have stopped after Maria since the situation is the same almost a month after.

I'm so sorry to hear that things aren't getting better. It's just so infuriating that more help hasn't been made available - it's not like there aren't resources - the fact that they aren't been used when and where they're needed is just so wrong.

I wish there was something I could do but like I have no money and live far away, Just know that I'm here for you in whatever small ways I can be and you are in my prayers!

Don't worry sweetie, I'm not asking for money. I'm fortunate enough to have all I can need but my island is not well. I would love to have power but at least we have a power plant we use for several hours and keeps the fridge cold. We have a water tank and still have water, and we have food. Things are just so hard and the robbery is very high. It's dangerous being outside past 6pm or too early in the morning since everything is extremely dark.

I'm holding on but getting sad, feeling useless since I can't work or do much every day it's the same as the one before, like we are trapped in the same day. :( We'll get through it somehow. Take care xx
