The other one was Cup of Snow. :D I love that one, too, with the reflection in the water and the snow. But I figured this one is a bit more colorful, so with spring coming up, I wanted to use that one. But they both just have such fantastic art on them!!!
Yeah, I wanted the dress to work off the background, because the colors in the background are so beautiful. :) Pink, blue, and the shades of purple that happen between are my absolute favorite collection of colors! Actually, those were my wedding colors the first time around... Blue hydrangeas, little purple flowers, and bits of pink here and there. :O

Ooh, I'm sorry about that D: Did you submit it 10 times and got it denied 10 times? o: My tights were denied twice, but the second time only for the CI (so the overlay is okay, yay!) I think I have to redraw it, that's why I decided to fix it later o:
No, I only tried once! I didn't know that submitting it multiple times might change the outcome!
Oh, it does! Once you have the denial reasons, you can modify the CW and submit it again. However, if you reach 10 denials, you won't be able to submit it again o: I understood that you couldn't submit it again because of that denial!
Good morning everyone! Just popping on quick before I go edit the last eight pages or so of the book...
Does anyone have any exciting plans for today or for this week? And how were your weekends? I finally got our Christmas tree taken down (yes, I know it's March) and our apartment looks so much bigger, and cleaner, and brighter... :O And I'm hoping to get a ton of translating work done this week.... Laundry day is Wednesday, plus I have three classes that day, so that one'll be a total loss, but my lunch class is cancelled today, so I won't have any interruptions until evening. So that's exciting... :O
edit: Whew, I've edited eight pages and posted them for the writer to review, and I've gone through all of his notes on the pages so far... Now on to some more translating... I have 71 pages left, but also 71 days before I need to have everything finalized (translated, edited, reviewed enough times to make sure it's decent...)

Haha... Dunno if it is interesting or not, but... Yeah, teaching, translating, learning German, that's my life. :O

lol learning another language is always interesting... ;) I guess translating too!
Teaching and translating Germany?
Haha, no, no. I live in Switzerland, teach English, translate French into English, and I'm learning High German and Swiss German. :)

Oh yes! High German is a distinct separate language from Swiss German. :O In fact, the Swiss dialect is so distinct, actual Germans often can't understand it. :O The other forms of German (like Austrian and such) are closer to High German (standard German).
For example, That's good/It's good/That's okay would be "Es ist gut" (Pronounced ess isst goot) in High German would be "Isch guet" (pronounced ish goo-ett) in Swiss German. An apprentice in German would be a Lehrling, but in Switzerland it's a Stift (which incidentally is "pen" in High German). Carrots are "Karotten" in High German, but "Ruebli" in Swiss... Even the numbers are different in Swiss... Thousand in German is "tausend" (t-ow-zenned) and doo-sig in Swiss.
In High German, I'd be intermediate level or so, but in Swiss? Frankly, I've lived here for years, and I'm doing well if I just figure out what the topic of the conversation is about, let alone actually understand! And then, the accent differs radically from town to town, so that sometimes someone from the next town over is even incomprehensible... My husband's one cousin is from a town half an hour away, and when she said hello to me last time I saw her, I didn't understand what she was saying... And that's a simple greeting!!!

wow interesting!!!! It's like Cantonese and Mandarin, both Chinese, but I can't understand the other language unless I learn it lol
Yea they also use different words which is even more confusing
Hah, yeah, exactly like that. Similar languages, but still very distinct from each other. :)

I wanna learn the other Chinese XD I've heard some speak it as it sounds so cool XD
Yeah, I think Swiss sounds kind of cool, too. It's really interesting... They have a lot of soft ch/sh sounds, so it sounds a bit gentler than High German, and there are lots of vowel shifts and things like that. Then they add "li" to the end of loads of words, which is cute... Actually, the vocab is the hard part, because the grammar is a bit simpler than high German... They don't bother with as many of the declinations and such...

I always wanted to learn another European language :D want to go to Europe sometimes too :D
that "li" is another word? or just a sound? in Chinese we tend to add words like "ah” or "ne" or "le" or "lo" to the end of a sentence to make the ending sound not awkward aha
It's a suffix that they add to words to make them sound cute and little... A diminutive. Kind of like in French words and names with the ette or elle (Anne becomes Annette, Lynn becomes Lynette, madame becomes mademoiselle) or a bit like -ling in English (duck becomes duckling, goose becomes gosling). Except in Swiss German, they add it to EVERything. A bit becomes a bitzeli, a ... Even the kitchen cupboard gets a diminutive, changing from the High German "Küchenkasten" (coo-kchen-cast-enn) to "Chuchichästli" (choo-chee-chess-shtli, where those "ch"s are a kind of soft cat hissing sound in the back of your throat).
Haha, as in this video, which is an entire song based on the pronunciation of the word: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kz61IcBnHOA
Oo, and this is interesting if you want to see what the languages sound like... It's a video from a youtuber who mainly posts in English, but she did one post where she spoke a bit in every language she knows... She starts with English, then does Swiss German, the worst version of High German that Swiss try, more proper High German, and some REALLY bad Spanish... Be forewarned, though, she DOES include a collection of swearwords, so...

Rested over the weekend cause I was sick, getting the Christmas tree down is a feat! Love your HA!
Aw, thanks! And yes, it's a huge feat! The first part is the hardest, though... Convincing my hubby to bring down the boxes from the attic. :O

My weekend wasn't the best... I kept trying to do work, but I couldn't because my eyes hurt and my sleep was off. I ended up sleeping a lot, resting a lot, and playing Subeta a lot. The good news, though, is that I somehow managed to correct my sleep schedule by doing that. I slept last night during the night, for once, and woke up this morning, so yay! I'm not nocturnal!
Waking up at a reasonable hour this morning put me in a good mood and it's been motivation to work today. So I'm at my desk now ready to get some work done. I even opened the blinds in front of the window that's next to my desk, to let some sunlight in (my therapist has been telling me to do this for a while now) and I have a coffee and I'm ready to go.
The only problem now is that my eyes hurt. I know why- it's because my computer glasses broke a couple weeks ago, and I haven't used them since. The lenses are luckily okay; it's the frame that's a bit weird, the legs open too wide and they keep falling off my face. But, I really need them because my job has me staring at a computer screen for hours, and it really hurts and strains my eyes without the glasses. These are expensive glasses specially designed to protect against computer screens, and I can't afford to buy a new pair, but I think I can just get a glasses strap and it will be fine. Right now I'm using a rubber band to keep them on my face and it's not working too well lol...
Anyway... I'm in an optimistic mood. My clients are the best. My main employer has been incredibly patient with me, and always says encouraging things when I manage to do some work. My other client has also been really patient and confident in me despite my disability getting in the way. And I was contacted yesterday by someone I worked with a few years ago, who wants me to do another paid gig with him. I'll be chatting with him some time today to find out what that's about. I'm just feeling so lucky, to work with such kind and good people, I feel so incredibly lucky and grateful to have them. So today I am feeling blessed and all I want is to do the best I can in return.
You have to tell me more about you! I heard that you translate and teach German, but I don't know anything more about that, and your life sounds really interesting. When you say classes, do you mean teaching them or taking them? If taking, are you in undergrad? And do you translate as freelance or full time?
Also, I know what you mean about the "li" being cute! My bf has brought that up before too. When we first started dating, he came across the term "mi schatzli" (with an accent over the a, I think) I think it's Swiss German, but not sure? But it's a very cute term of endearment, I called him that in a couple emails cuz I thought it was so sweet.
