Students started to make their way down to the Entrance Hall and out onto the grounds. They lucked out with good weather. There was not a cloud in the sky, and the sky was a magnificent blue. The sun warmed the grounds, which was very welcome after a few weeks of dreary rain.

She really did enjoy bringing just a little bit of fun to the students each term. As students passed, she handed them a voucher for free ice cream to the Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlour booth
.“There’s a new proprietor of the ice cream shop in Diagon Alley. She’s been kind enough to offer free ice cream for our festival this term! It’s one per person while supplies last, so take advantage while you can! Let the festivities begin!”
Not far off from where the headmistress stood was a sign with the schedule of live entertainment for the day. First up was the Broomstick Acrobatics show with Sadia Malik. After that was an escape artist show with Nova. Last, but not least, was a duo performing fire juggling and fire breathing, Desdemona Blaze and Arkha Solarys. Under the schedule listed the music entertainment for the day: Fiona the Fae Fiddler. Fiona was already set up on a raised circular stage near the center of the festival, playing an upbeat song to start the festivities.
Around the circular stage were booths set up with games and food. Among them was the booth for the free ice cream, as well as a booth giving out water, lemonade, and pumpkin juice. Each o the booths was decorated with a different type of flower: roses, tulips, daffodils, daisies, etc. Some of the game booths included both popular Muggle games and a few games tailored to use magic. The Muggle games, for example, included a dunking booth. The professors were taking turns allowing students to throw balls at small target that once hit would plunge the teacher into a vat of water. Professor Morgan was the first in the dunking booth. One of the games tailored to use magic was a game where up to four students at a time were to use the aguamenti charm to fill water balloons. The student whose water balloon filled completely and burst first would be the winner.
In addition to the games, the festival also included rides. A bit beyond the booths was a ferris wheel where the cabs were transfigured to look like giant purple, pink, and blue pygmy puffs, a swing ride modified to use broomsticks instead of chairs (with extra enchantments to protect the riders), and a ride made to look like a giant troll swinging a club. There was also an metal Hippogriff enchanted to attempt to throw off the rider. On the lake floated boats crafted to look like various magical creatures: phoenixes, merpeople, hippocampuses, dragons, etc.
Behind the opposite side of the booths were two fenced in areas: one filled with white colored flowers and one that was currently empty. In front of the flowery area stood a wooden sign:
The empty fenced in area bore a similar sign:
I think I'll sit eating my free ice cream and doing some studying in the sun beside the petting zoo until it opens! I love animals :D
(( Looks like I may have to sit this out. I'm currently too busy to devote much time to a new rp. =/ I'll keep a loose eye on things, though!))
The way some people spell makes me wonder about their pronunciation. My CW shop, and my ping group
Gwen looks around at everything, it all looks like so much fun! It seems like everyone is taking their time coming down so she is enjoying looking around while watching everyone come down from the castle.
She hopes she isn't too dressed up but she doesn't get a lot of chance to wear pretty dresses and wanted to show off her new magic to change her hair.
Millie was so excited for the Spring Festival. She had sent an owl to her mom asking for a new dress and she wasn't disappointed with what her mother picked out. She spent quite sometime brushing her hair, surprised by how long it had grown. She usually kept it up for classes. She added some color to her cheeks and placed the flower crown her mom mailed her. "You stay here Cleo" she said to her cat. Cleo barely looked at her as she did her weird bury her face into the arm of one of the large arm chairs. "Silly cat, how do you breathe like that?" she asked. No response. "Well fine, be that way. I'll see you later. Don't wait up." Again, there was no response.
She trotted outside to have her breath take away. Hogwarts never ceased to amaze her. She wasn't sure what to look at first. She heard there was free ice cream and decided to grab some before the line got too long. She was also on the lookout for any of her friends
Poppy smiled at Professor Persnickety as she happily accepted the ice cream voucher. She got in line for a treat behind Millie (), and tapped her on the shoulder. "I love your dress!"

Millie felt someone tap her shoulder. She turned around and saw Poppy. "Thanks, my mom bought it for me. You look very nice as well. I'm really excited about this, are you?"
"Thanks. I'm definitely looking forward to all the activities and entertainers. It was really fun having the last ball outside so I'm glad that we get to enjoy being on the grounds again."
Poppy scanned the menu. There were so many flavors and they all seemed delicious. "Do you know which ice cream you're getting Millie ()?"

"I'm really excited to check out the petting zoo" Millie said. "It's such nice weather. I hope it holds up".
Millie looked at the menu and said, "Hmm, it's tough. I think I will get the . What about you?"
Fiona the Fae Fiddler stepped off the stage as Professor Persnickety stepped on. Though she saw that there were not many attendees yet, she still cast the sonorous charm on herself to magnify her voice.
"Well, I hope you are all enjoying yourself thusfar! The ice cream seems to be a big hit! I just wanted to say a quick thank you to Caleigh Galpin for her kind contributions. Now, before I announce our first act, I'd like to point out that the Flowery Fortune Field should be opening shortly after the first act has ended. Now, with that said, please put your hands together for our first act: Saida Malik and her broomstick acrobatics!" Professor Persnickety stepped off the stage and quieted her voice as the students applauded.
Sadia only took two steps onto the stage before quickly mounting her broomstick and taking off. She starts off with basic loops and twists. After about a minute of basic warm up, there was a large bang as a shower of sparks rains down from her broomstick. Sadia picked up speed and headed toward the castle. With a backwards loop, she headed back to the stage at full speed. Before reaching the stage, she positioned herself so she was standing on the broomstick. With a pop, she disappeared, and the broom soared momentarily before she apparated beneath it. With perfect timing, she grabbed onto the broom and swung herself back onto it. As she swung, however, a few small items fell out of her pocket....

And she continued her act without even noticing she dropped her... er... well... what are they?
"I want a cup of froyo with raspberries," answered Poppy.
She and Millie () had just reached the front of the line when they heard Professor Persnickety's announcement. They watched from below as Sadia performed her aerial tricks. Poppy began clapping loudly for a particularly daring bit of fancy flying, when she saw some trinkets fall from Sadia's pocket and tumble through the air.

Emmy hurried up from the Hufflepuff common room into the entrance hall and strolled over to the staircase, waiting there. She stood self consciously, tugging at her dress; she was not used to wearing something so girly.
When she saw Aderyn coming down the stairs, she smiled widely and jumped forward to give her a hug.
"You look beautiful!" she said, and, beaming, she held out the purple flower she was holding to Aderyn, intending her to have it.
"Let's head down now," Emmy suggested, putting out her hand so Aderyn could take it, and lead her out of the huge front doors of the castle.

🦋
Aderyn got ready for the spring carnival up in her dorm room, putting the finishing touches on her hair before heading out. She'd hidden her wings beneath her dress for the time being so that she could comfortably go on rides, and she was all ready to go. Grabbing a fresh, beautiful, snow white rose off of her bedside table, she dashed out of the room, heading toward the main entrance to the school.
Coming down the steps, Aderyn spotted Emmy waiting at the bottom of the stairs and she waved, rushing down to meet the other girl and giving her a quick hug.
"Oh, thanks! You look amazing, too! Here."
Taking the purple flower, Aderyn handed Emmy the rose in exchange, smiling and taking the girl's hand. She tugged on Emmy's hand and started walking alongside the other girl as they headed out to the grounds.
Looking around as they headed down the hill toward the lake, Aderyn gasped as sparks began to rain down around them from the broom that had just zoomed by overhead with a brightly-clad woman astride it.
"Look!"
((lol how long is too long?))
Giselle, usually shameless, glanced around at her classmates before returning to herself. Her fluttering skirt and sleeves caught the balmy breeze by the lake while the sun highlighted her magenta-and-white everything in contrast to crowd's gentle pastels and nature hues. A Hufflepuff nearby (@ ibook u want in?) seemed self-conscious as well. "Hey, your hair looks really good! Such a cute dress too," said Giselle, attempting to reassure her. "I'm a little bright, though," she muttered to the classmates who accompanied her. Of course I picked head to toe hot pink. This is worse than my last ball outfit.
"Be right back," said Giselle. The festival noise faded into a murmur as she entered the cool, dim castle, headed toward Ravenclaw Tower. Pushing through the entrance and up the stairs, she opened her wardrobe to pull out a more casual outfit. Clothes landed with soft thumps on the rug. She shrugged off her dress and tights into an iridescent pink pile and paused to transfigure her heels into something simpler.
After checking herself thoroughly in the mirror, no extra frills and flares this time, Giselle grabbed her old Comet to make a final exit out the window, landing on the dock where some of her friends had migrated. One sixth year transfigured some lichen into a flowering shrub, joking that it matched her as she rolled her eyes. On hearing Persnickety's announcement, they quit dawdling at the bright creature-shaped boats in exchange for the excitement on the main stage, congratulating Fiona Fae as they passed.
Ice cream in hand, they threw their books, bags, and brooms down as they flopped down to watch the air show.
((I'm literally making up friends for her, so anyone can feel free to jump in!))
Poppy spotted Aderyn () and Emmy (), who had stopped in their tracks to watch the display. She waved them over. "Hey! Come get ice cream."

Millie had just ordered her ice cream when she heard Professor Persnickety's announcement. She turned and watched in awe.
Then she saw her friends, Aderyn and Emmy. "Hey, you both look beautiful! We have to get our pictures taken so I can send them to Emmett, my friend at Durmstrang. He wants details of everything." She wondered if anyone caught the 'friend' part. She wasn't sure she could call Emmett her boyfriend but they pretty much were a couple.
Millie also saw a Ravenclaw girl she had seen around. "Giselle, right? You look wonderful!"
The acrobat performed a series of impressive flips and loops as the students oohed and aahed. Definitely more impressive than me and my old Comet, but I'm no quidditch player, noted Giselle as she sunned her legs in the rare sunshine. With furrowed brows, her eyes traced the path of some trinkets that arced through the air from Sadia's pockets during a fairly violent swing until another voice broke her train of thought.
"Oh, thanks! Yes, that's me - I think we've met dropping stuff off for History of Magic?" Giselle smiled up from the lush grass at the Hufflepuff nearby. "I'm loving your house spirit. Want me to take a picture for you all?"
((totally stalking character bios but it ok.))
As Sadia Malik finished her act, Professor Persnickety headed towards the Flowery Fortune Field. She had been most looking forward to this addition to their festival. She waved her wand, opening the gate and changing the sign.
Underneath the sign appeared a chart:
The headmistress, before allowing students to enter, picked a flower for herself. She inspected it momentarily before an orange puff of smoke erupted from the center. She smiled widely, pleased with her blessing.
After running into the beautiful field of flowers, I closed my eyes and picked one at random!
poof orange! This is a wonderful blessing and with good health I'll be able to make it through anything that comes my way!
Although I must say I wanted blue just to match my Ravenclaw pride!
I must run off and tell my best friends and to pick a flower immediately :D
Merlin entered the field and after smiling at the view of the beautiful flowers for almost ten minutes, he decides to pick a lonely one in a corner. A moment after it was picked, a red smoke with light emerged from the flower. "Ah! This is indeed a surprise." In his heart, he already had wished who he wanted love from. "He surely is a griffindor, that muggle dollophead." He walks away thinking dreamily of his beloved while pulling his green tie down.
