as of now, there are no plans for categories in shops, sorry!
Is there a reason why?
because shops aren't meant for storing items, which we feel is the main benefit of categorization.
So we're not allowed to have sorting in our shops to make it easier for buyers who are just looking for a specific thing (ex. stat boosters, event currency, mage amulets, etc.), or a specific price range (100k+, 1m+, 10m+) because... storing items is bad?
That seems like a poor reason to me, but okay.

You all have already put in limits to address that issue, though? So can't we have categories to organize the items you are allowing us to have?

Exactly. And how many times do we see in forum sales where people do 50% off but in only a certain category in their shop (or everything but a certain category)?

Categories are handy little tools to have in a shop. I used mine in my legacy to mark items who's price was above what the autopricer would set. It made it so much easier to stay on top of things. Also, people have mentioned they like to use it to help others find things in their shop. While I'm not that ambitious I do understand why they'd like it back. Please give it a little more thought.

I really don't see the logic behind the current explanation against categories because you already have the size limit which curbs item hoarding in user shops. If categories somehow gave a user bonus shop size, then yes, I'd see the reasoning behind it, but right now... Nah. No reason not to have shop categories.
