Hey guys, I'd love to revive this group. I don't have all the wins myself lol. Unfortunately I don't have heaps of time at the moment, so you might have to rely on someone else to kickstart proceedings!
I started the battle without knowing a thing and now I've stuck in true hell with 607 HP pet... Please send help.

- there's a forfeit option. https://subeta.net/games/battle/stats.php
lol same - I figured "oh this guy has 10hp, he'll be EASY" and here I am watching him go TROLOLOLOL after every single one of my attacks. XD
so if this is still a thing, I'd be willing to help test? not sure who to tag tbh...

I am into reviving this! We have a forum group, I think you're in it, it's # trolling (not pinging here but you can search it). I don't know how many people are active, once the spring semester ended we all kind of killed it. I'm not an admin so maybe we would have to start a new forum group?
- I'd be willing to help, but I really suggest starting a new forum group, rather than trying to untangle the old one. I also don't have heaps of time but would love to see those with new interest get those wins. Has anyone figured out yet if T4 (or even T5 weapons) need to be included in the testing? That information would make a big difference, both in getting the job done, and in knowing how much work and/or sP will be needed.
I've started a new group for this. I need a few wins myself too. I'd prefer to keep the group small so we can all get our wins in within a short time of one another, but if you've got other suggestions I'm happy to listen.
I'm thinking about having 10-15 members at most. What do you think?
It's a closed group but I'll be able to accept requests within 24 hrs of them being made. I'd love it if there is one or two more admins too to manage the group. There is already a forum going in there but you won't probably see much lol :D I'm the only member now so ... :D
into it :D Just saying, I am 6 hrs ahead of subetan time, so maybe I am lagging behind everyone else~
- I'd be more than happy to help administer if you would like. Just be aware that I have limited time available. For a small group, like you are proposing, hopefully it will suffice.
10 - 15 members sounds good. Do note that you will need all the weapons between you and enough members to test them all frequently. Also note that getting all the wins in a short time depends somewhat on what time zones people live in (or more specifically what time of day/night they are likely to be on Subeta).
Nice, thank you! I am willing to help admin (I was going to make a new group myself but you beat me to it). I am in the Subeta time zone if that matters. I like the idea of a small group, because then we can really hold each other to higher standards and hopefully actually work together with minimal selfishness.
I propose that once someone gets their 5 in, and they ping everyone, that person should post the time when they will submit their fifth win. So no one else submits it before that, there are fewer hurt feelings, and it is a little more organized. I think a half hour to an hour is reasonable if someone has the time to wait around for that... (Does that make sense? I feel like I'm vomiting words here, haha)
Thank you guys. I've just set arixen as admin. I'll go ahead and set you as admin too, Nomad. I also like the idea of the person with the right weapon to ping everyone with an idea of when they expect to submit their win. I'll add this to the main post if it's okay with you and if everyone is of the same mind too.
Hi arixen I noticed that I was pinged but can't seem to access the thread you pinged me in :D Guess it's in another group that I haven't joined?
The other ping is to the board I created discussing reviving this group...it's in the # trolling forum, if you're not a member then perhaps we can make you one so you could see. There are some good ideas floating around, or maybe we could just post your forum group there and we can bring the discussion over to the new forum group forums?
- sorry about that ping, yes, that thread is in the old trolling group's private forum. Basically, suggested a monthly effort rather than a continuous one and I asked what you thought of that idea.
(and Maskros too) Just, FYI, once you get your fifth win in (but not registered) it essentially can wait forever (we've done it over a day change, and it still was there afterwards) and a half hour seems like a long wait, but, especially with a well trained group, the window of opportunity can be kept open much longer than that. With people in different time zones, or possibly not online when the winner is found, etc., I personally am in favor of an active end notice sent by an admin which is what the old group did. Since your wins can't be taken away, patience gives everyone else a chance to share. However, I already have five wins with all three of my pets, so I am in this to help others and will work however the group chooses.
Nice, I like that better. I've only had one win so I didn't know that fact. If others agree then I wouldn't mind operating this way. Certainly would take patience but I think we can do it if we are close-knit.
If you close the tab, do you lose the wins? Or would you get the "this pet is already in a battle!" page and then you'd be able to return to the page where you can click the link? I'm just concerned about crashed computers or accidentally closed tabs...like how I just closed my entire browser on accident 5 minutes ago! haha.
- I don't know that we tried that (or that anyone's computer crashed) so that might be a question for Subeta staff. My understanding is that once you get your opponent to zero hit points you have won the battle but it isn't over and you don't get your loot until you click the button to officially end that battle. So we pause in between - after the kill but before the administrative stuff. My best guess is that you would still get that "this pet is already in a battle" like we do otherwise, but, although I have computer science background, you would need Subeta staff to confirm for sure. I suspect that people would be very careful with a tab where they beat the troll and I'm not really sure it's worth it to try to account for computer crashes, since they can occur at any point and what happens afterwards is at least partly determined at the user end so ... I would feel bad for someone whose computer crashed at any time during a troll battle (or for that matter at any time) but I can't fix everything that might result.
I just tested this with Buttwing Bomber and Eclipse. I navigated away and then went back to the BC. It said I was still in a battle, and led me to the page like the one where you click "see results," but instead there was a link that said "game over" and then I got a loady-bar like the one you see when the forums are loading. Nothing loaded though so I didn't see the end results. But, I think it would still work and you'd get your wins and items.
Oh thanks for letting me know :D I don't mind if it's a monthly effort, like, we'll try to get it done within a week in a month, and wait until next month for the next joined effort, am I understanding it right? I'm just worried that if we spread the testing out for too long someone outside of the group might come up with the right weapon combo and we'll have to start from scratch. That's all I'm concerned about. Other than that, I'm fine with most arrangements really.
- was (I think) suggesting a single day or a couple of days (possibly a weekend) mass effort. Your group doesn't have to work that way. There can be more than one group, if you want to keep things small. Each group could set their own rules and procedures. I will be happy to work with multiple groups if that's what happens. The down side, of course, is that each group needs their own set of weapons and needs to cover the testing somehow.
- yes, that's what I expected. Probably works that way if you close the tab as well. Most likely even if you restart (or shut down and then start) your computer. Just not positive what would happen with an actual crash. (Or for that matter, if Subeta crashes.) Lots would depend on what caused the crash. Of course, if Subeta crashed, then tickets could be filed.
