I was staring at some birds the other day while sitting in the drive thru. They had iridescent black feathers and PIERCING yellow eyes. I believe they were great-tailed grackles
There's a huge field next to some wetlands outside my partner and I's apartment. Yesterday we saw a doe with fawn along its edges, and a few months ago we saw a mother fox with four (!!!) pups playing around. At first we weren't too happy about the view from our place, since next to the field is this huge boring warehouse/storage facility, and the field wasn't too exciting. But now that we've lived there for a few months and have seen all sorts of birds and mammals, it's been a lot of fun.
I live the rural parts of a Arizona, and the critters I get are various lizards, big and small. Roadrunners ( easily missed) jackrabbit and cottontails. Buzzards, hawks and owls. The variety of beetles that come out on the hottest part of the year are cool really big boys. Palo Verde Tree Beatles, tarantula hawks, iron clade beetles. All cool to watch around evening as the scurry or fly clumsy in air. Oh and can’t forget the snakes! Rattlesnake, garden snakes, racers and king snakes.
Ah almost forgot the coyotes and mountain lions (once) I’ve been (un)lucky to great and chase from my yard xD
My mom's house is in a really rural area, so there's lots of wildlife. There's a family of deer with a little baby fawn who love eating our apples. They're super cute. Yesterday I saw a really big garter snake, almost stepped on him.
There was a possum climbing along the top of my backyard fence. I guess I kind of knew they could climb but seeing it balance along the thin planks was impressive. They look so clumsy and awkward I tend to underestimate them... unlike raccoons, who seem capable of anything lol
We have a mother raccoon with four babies that comes into our yard every morning when I am putting out birdseed, and eats any that falls on the ground. She comes with her babies every year, and when I see her coming in daylight, I know she is nursing and I usually leave her a little bread or cat food daily. Once the kits get old enough, she brings then with her and they visit until the autumn. This year's litter has a particularly brave little guy who now comes right up to me and takes a piece of bread from my hands. It's a neat feeling, to be that trusted! (No photos, sadly, as I'm the only one outside at that time of day.)
In June, we had a group of wild turkeys visit. This isn't a great photo, as it was taken through a window screen and doesn't show them all, but at least it gives an idea. We had three mama hens and around twenty chicks. It was amazing!

i live in a place where bears and snakes are over populated as well as deer see them every day
I saw a lot of birds of prey yesterday, but couldn't discern what they were. Most likely red tailed hawks or peregrine falcons

I've never seen a gecko in real life!
I've always wanted to see/touch a hedgehog!
they're cute!! this is the third time i see one irl ' v '
I see this huge flippin' owl in my yard a lot....it ate my elderly cat, but it is still a pretty bird. I love owls.
I also saw a coyote once, it still wanders through my neighborhood, making all the dogs go crazy.
Oh oh! I see anoles outside all the time! One time I even caught a male one trying to attract a female that was across the front porch too. X3 Hope Mr Anole got the girl.
I live way out in the boonies, like 15 minutes from the nearest town. We have a 40-something-acre forest that we live in the middle of. Our driveway is half a mile long. would not believe how many deer we see. Every spring there are at least 2 fawns that come and hang out on our property. One time we going down the driveway and there was an entire herd of deer crossing from one side of the forest to the other. We counted 16.
Last month there was a decent sized copperhead right next to our garage. I got to learn what a copperhead looked like as well as watch Mom beat the heck out of it with a shovel.
Also, I'm not sure if this counts as wildlife, but we're neighbors with the owner of our county's humane society. She finally got an official building built for it about 5 years ago, but until then all the pens were at her house. She still owns a ton of cats and they come over to visit from time to time. All of our pets have been strays that come over from there.
I had to slam on my breaks to not hit a raccoon the other night and it made me so sad because the poor little guy looked so panicked. I'm glad he made it out okay though.
I saw an immature bald eagle on the way to work this morning. It was flying alongside my car for a bit while the was rising on the other side so it was underlit by a pinkish light. So pretty!
A black squirrel.
A deer.
A red-tailed hawk.
As I am living in a city, mostly a range of birds that I have not gotten around to really identifying because while I am from the US and learned my birds and mammals there, I am currently living in Europe for school. Small city mammals can also be seen such as squirrels, mice, rats, chipmunks, and a surprising number of bunnies as well. Other than that I have seen a fox and a raccoon dog, although for the last two it was dark and hard for me to really get good looks at them.
