Make sure to include this page, ! :) We tried to get a lot of useful information to it (and will add on to it if we see people having any other questions).
You'll get the items you need for the first recpie (the maple cookies) plus a few things that'll help you out in the future! I got a banana in mine which will help me on the banana nut bread. :)
I was expecting users to buy up a lot of baked goods. It's not all that surprising, people want to be able to make things right now. There are things in the donation center people can grab to bake, you can vend some things, and I've lowered the rarity for the more popular items so I'm sure the prices will lower in a few days once the "OOH SHINY" feeling wears off, haha.
just fyi I just pushed a minor update! There is now a red error box on recipes that are beyond your level that lets you know "hey you can't bake this yet". :) That should clear up any issues in the future from people wondering why they don't have the bake button for every recipe right now.
If you check out the help page for baking it tells you:
So yes, things that cook longer give you more experience. :)
Also keep in mind, the higher up you get in levels the more experience you need to level up. Like level 5 requires more experience than level 3, etc. That's why those numbers you posted above aren't completely accurate.
I don't think it's helpful at all to put experience for each thing because you don't actually know how much each gives. We don't at any point show how much any of the baked goods give you. The info page says that things that cook longer give more points, yes, but not how much more. I think that's all you need to know, tbh. That if you're cooking something that takes longer you'll be rewarded for it while if you cook things that take less time, you'll get less but you have a quick turn about?
I really don't know how you're getting those numbers at all for experience. Are you assuming it's out of 100 and just going based off the percentages? If so, that's wrong. As you go on, each level requires more experience than then the last. I JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE EVERYONE IS ON THE SAME PAGE, and people don't get upset if like x item doesn't bump them up quick enough etc <3
I wasn't that cruel to you guys. :) Experience is based on how much time a thing takes, I didn't make higher level stuff give you a few more points.
It's worth going back and doing lower level stuff because you're less likely to burn those things! Things on your level are more of a challenge while if you try the lower level things, you're less likely to burn them (because you've gotten more advanced in your baking)!
I'm not really going to change anything until we see how prices work after a week or so. :) The items are all pretty low rarity and restock + vend, the prices will settle. The problem is everyone wants to make everything right this seccond, so the prices are staying high on a few things.
