I didn't read most of your post honestly, so I'm glad I didn't restate what you said :p
Of course I was. Our goal is to bake enough goods to fill our progress bar to 100% level by level. It never dawned on me that the amount of exp needed per level was going up, the records I'm keeping make it seem the % of progress we make was/is plummeting. Which is pretty much the same thing, just a different way of looking at it.
Thing is no matter which way I look at my notes, my success rate is still the same. Is that the real key behind how well we do? I have no idea - only time will tell. I still say considering the cost, time and effort put into becoming a master baker a 63% success rate is pretty harsh. xD
Even if its a fools venture, I am that fool. I've committed myself to figuring out every level necessary for the items we make. I'll keep right on spending virtual coin, refreshing shops that never seem to stock sticks of butter and canola oil and listening to the little clicks on my timer until I've successfully figured them out and made at least 1 of everything for the Lady to eat.
FYI: Level 8 (1%)
Come back in 14 minutes to check on the Chocolate Dipped Shortbread Cookies Burned Chocolate Dipped Shortbread Cookies You are 1% of the way (0%) 36 / 59
Come back in 60 minutes to check on the Banana Nutmeg Chai Bread which I fully expect to be burnt but at least now I know the times and what's available to bake at level 8 I would LOVE to get a little something for burning the apple spice cake and now the shortbread cookies but that inquiry didn't go anywhere so I have no idea why it's not holding true.

Wait, wait, wait. What the heck? Did the exp/% for burning something drop?
Yes, I'm still on level 1, and have only made 5 things, but my first burn was worth 12%, followed by three 25% successes, and finally a 6% burn. The next time I burn something, is it only going to be 3%?! Somehow, I really don't think getting to the next level should get exponentially more difficult as I progress with my single recipe.
Overall, I'm really not a fan of this system. Reasonable in theory, but hot damn, it is impossible with these prices. Restocking is nearly impossible (I know, I know, it is supposed to be a challenge), so I've been forking over 1mil for those damn MC cooking packs. We shouldn't have to buy something in the MC to attempt one baking session! This whole thing is just frustrating, and I really don't want to have to wait a year for the prices to drop to reasonable levels. Obviously, lowering the rarity so they restock and vend isn't helping enough (screw you, vanilla extract.)
So now that you know my angry opinions... What if there was a daily "mystery" item. Where Fantine invites you to throw in some nonsensical items into a pot, and maybe it'll make a cookie, and maybe it'll make sludge. Every day, the recipe can change, with a variety that would make the Recycle Beast overjoyed. Extra pizza slice, throw it in. Spare blender, throw it in. Miscellaneous pair of pants, THROW IT IN.
Now, her mystery item could require, maybe 6 out of her 9 random items. Changes at midnight, and the experience it gives will be scaleable to a medium item. You'd probably have less of a chance of it succeeding than a normal recipe, to make it fair.
So, you'll still have your boring cookie and pastry staples. They'll be available all year round, but you'll also get a shot at this random item. Low gain, but much lower costs. The items will spread some of the love to the rest of the shops, and I bet no one will notice when she asks for an innocent minion.
(I get that this goes against the whole theme of the bakery, but please consider it. Might make the system just a slight bit less jacked.)
Maybe instead of having a simple burn/pass ratio, it should have more possible outcomes. Like okay cookies, off - flavor, inedible, perfect -- whatever. The exp could even vary depending upon the "quality" of the final product. Maybe have substitutions possible, but they lower the quality of the output the farther you deviate from the original recipe? Like cornmeal instead of pure flour knocks off 5% of the exp awarded -- or something like that? I dk -- just some ideas to kick around. The burn rates are definitely far too high.
Perhaps I complained too much... I think all the items Liz donated to the DC have been removed. Within the last ~3 hours, the total stock has dropped from 14k to 3k, and no matter how much I refresh, I can't find a bakery item. Given it's taken us days to get down from the initial wave, there's no way we dropped 10k in a matter of a few hours. I would've expected a few thousand, max.
Well hopefully that means that the masq is starting tomorrow or something. :/
and Thanks for letting me bitch about all my failed attempts and helping me figure out how the progress bar % worked ya'll. Oh, and before I call it a night forgive me this one teeny-tiny brag..
You are now level 9 - Mmmmmmm, Pink Bunny Twist Bread, good choice.. Come back in 60 minutes to check on the Pink Bunny Twist Bread! (which I fully expect will be burnt when it's done in 2 minutes but who cares!?!)
You did it! Enjoy your Pink Bunny Twist Bread

Wow, congrats on your level! I just hit level 6 and felt all proud of myself until I saw your post. xDD Congrats on your non-burnt bunny bread, too!
Yeah, I noticed that, too. I think they were removed.
checks the news quickly checks the new bakery ingredients sees one that only has two in shops and is now priced at 3mil sp ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!?
at least the new recipes don't need any vanilla extract 😂
Has the percentage stop from moving up a little, after you burn an item? The bar showed 52% prior to the item being burned. I refresh the page to see how much it would go up, and it did not move. I started another batch, and is still at 52%.
