When you selected the tincture and layer card, was it dulled out or bright?

If you file a ticket, they can remove one that was created and reimburse the token that was used. The way it is supposed to work is if nothing is selected then you get a random color/layer but you should have gotten the correct one if it was bright cause that means it is selected.

Please do let me know if this happens again and I can get them to look into it!

this is mostly my fault for not making it clear how choosing things works. you still have to click on the layer card to use it, but if you only have one, it looks like it's selected automatically because nothing starts out faded out. and you can't tell the difference if you misclicked somewhere, because if you do only have one, nothing changes because it was already not faded to begin with... for example when you got the corset, you didn't actually use a layer card at all, just the wearable token. i didn't realize how unclear it was, but i'm changing it so that everything is faded until you explicitly select it, rather than everything else fading when you select one (which is also super unclear if you only have one option, because it looks like nothing changes!).. if that makes sense :P
but what i'm saying is that being bright didn't necessarily mean anything was selected. it was basically impossible to tell whether you actually successfully selected anything if you only had one, because there would be no visual distinction between choosing nothing and choosing the one that was there.
all bright and all dim were the same thing - nothing is selected.
Can you screenshot what you are doing so I can see?

I know this sounds weird but vault your black tincture when you try and make the white tee and see if that works.
