They will count! Amber mentioned in the news post that as long as the items vended/received from quests, etc. are items that also restock from those shops, they will count.

I just bought a whole bunch of clothes from the Icy Shop. Does anyone know if we have to buy drinks from Get Mugged or can it be anything that restocks?

Yeah, it'll probably be hectic trying to RS things. If you wanted to try vending some items to donate, those will count as well as long as they're from the proper shops.

I'll probably stick mainly to snowballs, unless I pick up some things from questing that I can donate.
