My dad keeps talking about maybe subscribing to a streaming service or two and ditching cable but he's had a lot going on lately and hasn't had time to figure it out i guess. But it sounds like a good idea...as long as whatever he gets has Vikings. XD I only very rarely buy DVDs (usually just live shows from my favorite band). It has to be something i really love...but Vikings would be worth it. As long as we can watch it on TV or over the internet though, i probably woudln't, and he probably wouldn't either. We're both pretty cheap that way, lol.

Great idea with the snowballs! So far i've just been RS'ing at Bake Stop and Get Mugged, but if i buy any snowballs, they'll be sharks!

SOmetimes you can find brand new/sealed copies of wahtever TV show (or movie) you want on ebay for less than the shops or other online stores.

Im cheap too, so I get waht you mean. I rarely buy DVDs from the store unless its something I REALLY want (and only have cash/no way to buy online XD)

The user shop orices for the shop items have gone up...I got a fair few things when they were still reasonably priced, but at least they didnt seem to go up too much...

You can always get a series or two from your library, inter-library loans are fantastic things. I also love Vikings and have all 3 seasons so far.

I know what you guys mean about cable. I never watch it. Waste of money these days with the alternatives.

If i found it on sale, i'd be tempted to buy it just for collection purposes, but also i need to cut down on all the stuff i collect. Just too much...stuff. I don't buy much, but i tend to accumulate things from other people and i never get rid of anything. ._.

The library is a good idea too! I never think of it for movies and shows and stuff.

Yeah, the price of cable is ridiculous. It really would be a waste for me especially because i hardly watch much TV. My dad insisted on bringing over an old TV, digital converter and rabbit ear antenna to my house just so i'd have something, but i never turn it on except for the occasional football game, and i usually watch those at his house too. There are just a few shows i watch (i go over there now for X-Files too) and i used to watch Top Gear at my friend's house, but that show's all but over now. I'm way more into the internet; i tend to get bored looking at screens if i can't click on stuff lol.

Im in the same boat I think. Its a lot fo small stuff (besides stuffed animals), and I have a tiny apartment...REALLY need to toss out a lot of stuff so I can actually move around properly!

And I forgot there was an X-Files remake. I MUST FIND A WAY TO WATCH!!!

I wish i just had some small stuff, lol...i have...literally everything. Everything! Including a bunch of cabinets and a dishwasher and even a kitchen sink, all of which i need to install in my kitchen when i renovate it, but right now they're all over my living room and dining room. I have a two-story house full of crap. Stuff from my grandparents, stuff from my friend, stuff from my friend's grandparents. And boxes upon boxes of rocks...my rock collection is one of my favorite possessions but man, is it bulky. And i haven't been able to unpack and display any of it since i moved here because i have to fix my house first, so it just gets shuffled around in boxes. Ugh. And i just can't throw anything away that might be useful. Someday i might need it! And i hate wastefulness, just throwing good stuff away.

At least X-Files is just on Fox, not some silly premium cable channel no one has...hope you can find some way to watch it!

I have a lot of DVDS/Video games and yarn. And a bunch of other craft-y things.

And if my tax return is clsoe to the estimates Ive come up with online (still waiting on one W2), I'l be getting a lot more. Yay for cheap stuff :D

Oh, crafty things. I have a whole room full of that. XD I still have entire boxes of pencils from when i was a kid in school. They are good pencils, can't throw them away, but i don't need 800 of them and i don't know anyone who does. Guh! And when my friend cleaned out her craft room, guess where it all went? She's very good at giving stuff away...she just threatens to throw it away and i'm like "Oh no no, i'll take it, don't throw good stuff in the garbage!" Damnit.

School supply time is one of my favorite times of year, because I rpefer to buy all my 'chool supply' stuff then rather at other times of the year (its a fuckton cheaper...why pay more than I have to? XD)

Im not a huge fan of Fox since they cancelled Firefly after one season. Plus, they seem like the 'racist news network', so i only watch stuff in the 'Fox Family' when theres no other way to watch it.

I wish you could shop for your supplies at my house, gosh i have enough to open a store lol. Of course it's all open and mismatched and partially used. Still lots of use left in those pencils and pens and binders, but they're not the sort of thing you can even donate.

Oh yeah, i hate Fox News too, but i think that's just their cable news that's really stupid. Their local news broadcast doesn't seem any loonier than any other local channel. I never saw Firefly. I just remember Fox as the channel that had Star Trek and X-Files when i was a kid, and thus my favorite...

All of 'em! They had reruns of TOS and then TNG on every Saturday when i was a kid, which i watched religiously. Then DS9 and Voyager too. Enterprise started up around the time i moved out and i ended up missing a bunch of it. I've tried to catch up with free episodes online...they had a bunch on Hulu but some were missing and that drove me nuts. I like continuity and completion, so i gave up after a couple seasons.
