if it's on your wishlist there is no way to guarantee you won't end up with doubles anyway as your friends may have bought one particular item thinking it was the best gift to give.

Thank you so much for the update! Glad to hear that it is being worked on, but please don't overwork yourselves! At the end of the day, they are pixel gifts. Don't stress yourselves trying to get it fixed as fast as humanly possible; remember to relax a bit and take care of yourselves too!

I'm pretty sure I'm one of those people that sent gifts after the 20th x.x Ah well, I hope my friends enjoy all their gifts! It took me so long to buy them lol

grelca mentioned in her post that the gifts with no username attached to them only affects items from Dec. 21-25, but also only for the ~1000 people who got the stockings glitch? And the faulty script only affects the gifter's username from being shown to the giftee, not that the gift itself will be gone from under their tree?

If this is indeed correct, can someone update their post with this information?

All the updates are much appreciated, but some of it just left more questions, and I think a little more clarification is in order to prevent some of the assumptions that are being made :D

I actually was half-expecting presents to go out on December 31 anyway based on the above. Self-fulfilling prophecy, anyone? xD

I was a little confused, but I kept reading through the rest of the posts, and throughout my reading journey, I saw many people who were confused. And you know people, they don't read :P

Nonetheless, thank you to all staff working on this issue and updating us. All of your dedication towards the site and its users is astounding. ♥

Thank you for letting us know that they're closing, but sadly most of my gifts were in fact sent out just before Christmas... I had saved up all month and figured it was a good time to send them. No one could have predicted this would happen. :( Hopefully my friends still get their gifts and love them, even if they won't be able to see that I sent them. And hopefully this will all be sorted out as soon as possible.

Also... please remember that to some people these are not just pixels. They may not be physical, but they are real and they mean something to someone. This was a wonderful way for many people to participate in a fun seasonal experience that may not be available to them in real life. The staff members can only do what they can do, but users need to support and sympathize with each other until this gets worked out.

I believe the problem is that the data is gone, period. That page doesn't show the gifts anymore that we sent those people, who will be missing there gifts. For instance, I only sent one person a gift during that period (luckily) and they are not shown on my list any longer, either that I sent them a gift at all or the items that were sent, so there is no pinging. The only people lucky enough to do that are those that had foresight enough to realize this would probably all fall apart and had separate notes, but the Subeta gift_given page (as of right now) is no help to those users.

Here's the situation as I understand it (please someone correct me if I'm wrong):

If you gave a gift before December 20, or on or after December 26, to someone who received stocking events: your gift will arrive and your recipient will know you gave it. This gift will appear on the Gifts You've Given page.

If you gave a gift between December 20-25 to someone who received stocking events: your gift will arrive, but your recipient will not know you gave it. This gift will not appear on the Gifts You've Given page.

If you gave a gift (at any time) to someone who did not receive stocking events: your gift will arrive and your recipient will know you gave it. This gift will appear on the Gifts You've Given page.

If you received stocking events: You will receive all your gifts, but any gifts that were sent to you December 20 and December 25 will not identify the giver.

If you did not receive stocking events: You will receive all your gifts, and all gifts will identify the giver.

IDK I must not have given any gifts to people with bad events then which I guess could be a good thing. I just went to my gifts given page (randomly gave someone a cheap gift) and all my gifts and who they went to are still listed there. So must be that stocking event issue which I think most of the people I know didnt get. I also kept a record of the gifts I gave with that hardly remembered option in the friends area that allows you to keep a list with notes since I have done it for every year I have been a member here.

I admit that it is nice to receive some kind of update, but honestly I wasn't fretting over it much because I was confident that it was being looked into. I'm just glad that everyone is on the same page now...or at least more than before aha.

Yes, I know there are plenty of people who are curious to know what they receive, and yes I understand that people don't want to buy items that may already be under their trees. But above all, after reading 's post, I really hope you don't stress yourself out too much tonight over this. All nighters suuuck. I can't speak for everyone, but I personally would rather you get a good night's sleep and delay the trees opening a little longer than you exhausting yourself over this. No one deserves blame, old code or not. It was a major holiday, unfortunate timing, and accidents big and small happen.

But that's just my two cents. Thank you for all the hard work you do!!

I gave out all gifts on 24th... Some people are showing up on my page, but most items I gifted are gone from there. If there was no backup of those days how are some people showing up? Also, how come there was no backup done in 5 days, and especially before running the script?
