You could try going through other user's wishlists and picking things that you like from there? That's something I definitely did (and still do).

Since I'm into HA making, if there's someone's style who I admire, I go through their wishlist to see what other pieces they are hunting after and see if I like any of them. You could do the same for people who you know like stickers, minions, battling, etc.

I also add items that I want, but that I haven't quite gotten to buying yet, including Quest Shop stuff and new items.
