Aderyn observed the pitch from her vantage point, quickly losing sight of the snitch as it took off. Her eyes were on the quaffle, and she just hoped that no rogue bludgers happened by her as she wasn't used to the game yet and wasn't quite able to focus on everything at once. She kept her eyes on Beth and Poppy, waiting for the quaffle to be tossed up and for the game to really begin. Hovering around the hoops, she was both excited and nervous.

Sam watched as Magnus and Gaia skillfully fended off bludgers. she had seen a glint over Beth's left shoulder, then a quick flash of something small darting past Aderyn at the hoops. So, it looked like the snitch was circling the pitch. She swooped down towards Poppet, passing Magnus again. "Great job with that bludger! she shouted as she watched for the snitch, hoping to intercept it coming around the pitch. A flash of gold coming towards her confirmed her guess, but as she raced to grab it, the winged ball changed direction suddenly,and headed straight for a zooming bludger. Dodging the iron ball as she chased after the snitch, Sam pushed her broom to it's top speed yet again, trying to anticipate the wildly zig-zaging snitch's general direction, to take the shortest route across it's path. Poor old Comet was gonna need a rest after this game.

"Thanks," Magnus said as he passed Sam. A bludger almost hit Gaia who had just hit the other bludger away. He whacked the one hurtling towards Gaia and flew off after its direction. He wasn't sure she saw how close it had come but as long as it was gone it didn't matter.

Magnus () knocked it away with his bat, much to Poppy's relief. She managed to secure the Quaffle under her left arm as she swooped to the right side. Beth () was hovering up higher so Poppy rose to meet her. "Here Beth!" The Head Girl made a graceful catch.

Another bludger soared towards Beth () but Magnus lobbed it off and waved at her and before tearing off again.

A bludger came zooming towards her, but luckily Magnus () was able to knock it off it's course. She passed the Quaffle back to Poppy as she avoided colliding with Sam ().

She tucked it under her right arm and made a beeline for the right goalpost. Aderyn () was hovering around all three of them. Poppy swerved left and threw the ball at the left hoop at the last second.

Aderyn kept a keen eye on the quaffle as it bounced around between players. She kept an even closer eye on Poppy () as she approached the goal posts. She circled them, trying to anticipate Poppy's next move, doing her best to read the other girl's body language. As Poppy threw the quaffle, Aderyn didn't have enough time to get around to the front of the goal post and the ball sailed through it, but she managed to catch it on the other side.

"Nice throw!"

Circling around to the front of the post, she tossed the quaffle up in the air, leaving it to the chasers.

"Who wants it?"

She grinned, looping around again, hanging out near the left goal post until the action cleared a little there.

Diving forward as Beth () called for the quaffle, Aderyn caught it on the way down, gasping a little as she wobbled on her broom a moment before clinging on again. Shooting back up a short ways, she lobbed the quaffle to Beth, taking a deep breath to shake off her nerves after the little hiccup in her her flying.

Sam swerved sharply as she and Beth nearly collided, and cursed roundly as the snitch evaded her swiping grab yet again. She slowly glided towards the goal hoops where Aderyn snagged the quaffle with barely a wobble, and tossed it expertly back to Beth.
A flash of gold caught the corner of Sam's eye as she turned back towards the center of the pitch. Flinging her arm out as she spun towards the glint, she barely had time to register the snitch zooming towards her, before it smacked into her palm hard enough to sting. "I CAUGHT IT!!!!" she yelled "I actually caught the little %$#*!!"

He'd been doing his job at hitting the bludgers away from other people. But when Sam cheered and swore at having caught the snitch, Magnus laughed deeply as and clapped swooping beside her. "Excellent job!"

Aderyn was distracted from her goalkeeping duties by Sam's () shout. She grinned brightly, waving at the other girl and giving her a big thumbs up, yelping as she narrowly avoided being walloped by a bludger. Clutching her broom handle again, she dove, circling Sam.

"Nice job! That was a great catch!"

"Whole lotta luck, more'n anything" Sam admitted, still absurdly pleased at the catch. "The damn thing nearly took my hand off. At least a bludger you can see coming..., speaking of which, Heads UP!" She yelped pointing at the ball headed their way.

Magnus saw the bludger and whacked it hard as it arced towards his head. The bludger sailed off in the other direction with a loud cracking sound. He hit so hard there was a crack in his bat now.

"Luck is better than nothing! You've still got serious skills. Right on!"

As Sam pointed out a bludger, Aderyn veered out of the way, ducking just in time as Magnus swung his club and knocked it away from them.

"Whew, close one - thanks Magnus! That nearly took our heads off!"

"No problem," he said sounding a little shaky. "Its a good thing mum makes Quidditch supplies, cos I owe the school a new beater's bat."

"I'm sure it happens all the time! And that was seriously impressive - it sounded like an explosion!"

"Probly cos o' the werewolf-ness. Didn't mean to hit it so hard. Though," he said laughing, "at least I'm not on me way to the 'osptial wing. You're doing well as keeper, getting more used to flying on a broom too I see."
