Fireside is a little later in the month, last year I believe we started it on the 21st!
It has to do with your internet service provider. We update where subeta.net "points" on our end, and your ISP has to choose how often to check if it's pointing somewhere else.
It can take anywhere from 10 seconds to 24 hours for your internet service provider to update that information, it's not something we can change on our end.

Hey everyone, another update! We're transferring data now, and running tests on the servers. I noticed some speed issues with the memcache cluster so I've reached out to Amazon to get more information about that (should we be running a cluster, or a single instance, basically).
Right now the timeline is looking like ~10PM Subeta time, we'll make the switch. I'll keep this thread updated :)

Keep playing normally, all data will be transfered :)

Update!
We're all caught up! I'm going to wait for the cron to run at midnight (about 15 minutes from now) and then i'll take the site down for ~5 minutes to make the transfer :)

Another round of testing, another push back!
The system that we currently use to push our code from our repository to the web servers isn't working. The reason is that the new servers are a lot more secure (none of them have outward facing IPs, which is how they were updated before) and so I'm working on a fix for that. I'll have a new timeline for you tomorrow afternoon.

This is actually the least stressful move we've ever had, to be honest ;) We've got time on both sides, we've been doing testing all the way up to the point of switching.
Before I would have just pushed us over and figured out the updating stuff on the fly, but no longer!

Okay, we're all caught up on the database end, and resolving the updates now, running some final tests :)

HI. Welcome to the new servers! :)
