I've been aching to try getting into them, I've been seeing them more and more lately. I adore colouring, but with my own work I very rarely get to that stage.

I definitely wouldn't mind children's books; I'd love to get a Winnie the Pooh one as well. Paper quality is a big concern for me, though. I always hated the cheap paper in children's sets, and I am weary with a lot of the adult ones I see.. has anyone had experience using Tombow water-based markers? I need to dig up my pencils. They're packed away somewhere. Otherwise it's just paints and pastels besides that!

I totally agree with paper quality. I have a ton of sharpies that are left sitting in a tub because theyre alcohol based and virtually bleed through freaking wood haha! Tombow ones, I haven't personally used then but theyre a big hit on the fb community for adult colouring. I have heard that the only thing people don't like is that they can make paper crinkle up if it isn't good quality :O

Thanks for the reply! I don't have a facebook myself, pretty cool to hear that! The Tombows are awesome. I'm a marker novice with just a few copics and anything I touch with a sharpie burns into pieces D: These have a nice feel to them! I was worried about the paper warping.. no kids books for my markers ; ;

If you're interested in watercolours and used to markets, I would totally give the Tombows a shot. Since they bead up on laminate, you can even mix colours like that :D

Sometimes I wish I didn't have facebook haha! The drama the stupid thing causes is ridiculous! Have you tried the spectrum noir markers or the chameleon markers? They seem to be very popular :D! Hahaha sharpies are just tools of destruction aren't they haha! How did you learn to use them :)?

Totally! I like avoiding that. And snooping bosses in particular :P!

I just took a look at the brands you mentioned. Spectrum Noir has a nice price point, but I don't know if I could deal with just having the chisel nib. The Chameleon ones look awesome though! I'll have to check it out :). Sharpies definitely are! As far as how I learned, mostly winging it. With the Tombows I did go a little further and checked out a few videos on youtube as well, showing some neat techniques. Got me wanting to make my own stamps!

I saw you mention using fine liners as well! Which brands do you like to use? I stick with Micron and Faber-Castell typically. I wouldn't mind hearing other brands out there!

Haha! I don't use my real name on facebook for that exact reason! My bosses were hectic for it!

Oh the stamps are taking off big time! I don't really understand what they are though? Hopefully they arent too expensive, the more colouring takes off the more prices increase :(! I can never follow youtube videos haha! I end up distracted and onto videos of animals lol! You should make your own stamps though and make sure to post a photo here :D!

I love Steadler Triplus and I got a cheap brand called Scribbilicious from a store called The Works and I think they're great :)! I've never heard of micron! I'll have to check them out :D! Faber-Castell scare me as they're pencils are so expensive, I don't know if I could ever justify £400 on them, but I will check out the fineliners as christmas is coming soon haha!

Are you putting any colouring stuff on your wishlist this year :)?

EDIT: The faber-castell ones are super cheap! £8 :O!! I am totally ordering a packet when student loan comes in :D!!

I recently bought "Color Calm" by Valentina Harper. I got it at my local Michael's craft store. It's nice and a decent portable size so it fits in my laptop bag and purse. It has some nice quotes attached to each design and a few lines for notes. I just use color pencils. I bought it originally because I'm a artist and coloring is a form of meditation to open your third eye.

I do! My parents bought me one because I was under a lot of stress at my job. Works perfectly, except some of the drawings are really intricate so that ramps my stress level up just a shade.

I prefer to use those skinny markers by Cra-Z-Art. The markers do bleed through but I've just been tearing the pages out that I want to color. I always feel a little awkward buying children's coloring books, but I do. My favorites are the Lisa Frank ones. I've always liked the animals in them.

I tend to just save free images off the net. I'll occasionally get a pattern book from Poundland or something, but I don't see the point in paying £5-£8 for a book of colouring pages, when you can get them for free online :P

At the temple, there is a poem called "Loss" carved into the stone. It has three words, but the poet has scratched them out. You cannot read Loss, only feel it.

I really enjoy colouring from time to time. Not the adult books though.. I like fairytale or Disney prints or just random anime colouring pages from the internet that I'll print. I have like a ton of different colors to use. :f Though I'm kinda busy and can't really find the patience at the moment.

I have 'The Creative Colouring Book For Grown-Ups' because it was a portable size - some of it is awesome, some of it is crap. I have a friend who has a spare copy of Secret Garden that he said I could have so I might do that after I've done all the cool pages in my current one c:

I don&;t have any of those "adult coloring books" or anything. I just use little kid coloring books. They&;re cheaper and more fun. The adult ones do not look relaxing at all to me. They&;re way too complicated and I feel like they would just cause me more stress. lol

This is how I feel! Plus it just really bothers me how much more they cost than the coloring books for children, which are just like 1-3$ in most cases. I think the adult ones are pretty, but they look more complicated than enjoyable imo, and I can't bring myself to buy one, even when I have the money to spend.

And also I prefer crayons and I just can't imagine coloring within such tiny spaces with a crayon.

I had several Lisa Frank coloring books but I gave them to my young nieces and nephews, so now I just have a Hello Kitty one. :) And I used to have like two sets of the giant Disney Princess pages you can buy at WalMart, but I ended up giving those away, too. (Not because I didn't like any of them, I actually loved them, but because I barely used them and thought the kids would enjoy them. I will probably get more in the future.)

OMG THIS IS MY KIND OF TOPIC!

Okay soooooooooo ADULT COLORING. HAS BEEN AROUND. FOREVER. I am an adult, and I color. And I used to drink wine and color back at college with my frands so like this isn't anything new.

I use little kid coloring books like legit I have Disney Princesses and Spongebob. And I have a 152 pack of Crayola crayons. Look, coloring with crayons is way more relaxing. You can't use crayons on the "adult coloring books" aka just pictures with tiny spaces.

Though I'm about to preorder me some Doctor Who coloring book (and test drive my ultra-pack of prismacolor pencils since I need to practice blending) and OKAY ALSO THIS BABY RIGHT HERE (and the other three like it) like wow I'm getting me some sooo wonderful like this is some meditation relaxation coloring for hours.

Have not colored anything in ... in years.... But it always has been a nice little pass the time sort of thing. Think the next time I go out I'll pick up a random coloring book and go from there. :3

I don't have any of the 'adult' coloring books, sadly. But, one of my coworkers did give me a Star Wars coloring book because it reminded her of me x3

Mostly I've been using typical kids coloring books, but recently I splurged (yes....$5 is a splurge for me. xD) on an "adult" coloring book and tossed in a cheap set of colored pencils. The book I got is called "Living Wonders: Color Art for everyone" and it's absolutely beautiful.

I prefer pencils because they have more control for filling tiny spots than crayons but don't bleed through like markers can. =3 I also perused the adult coloring books on amazon and added easily seven to my wish list there for later purchase. If you can't find them locally, you should definitely check amazon. xD

Yea, I never stopped colouring as a kid, just kept going all the way till adulthood. Let's see, currently I just have my Hello Kitty and Care Bears books, but I plan to get some of the mandala colouring books after the holidays. I have a huuuge hoard of crayons and coloured pencils that I use. :3
