@Cresenta Not at all cursed! I suck at getting anything out of the free shop that's worth much of anything. Awhile back when they used to have the free shop show the items, they once put a bunch of angelic potions in there and I got one- it was amazing and probably the last time I ever got anything great from the free shop. xD Never once got csc. They put a lot of crap in the free shop when they need to put other things in there to bring down prices. I don't have a ton of sP either, so I'm conservative on that front as well.
Oh wow an Angelic Potion. That's neat! :D
Yea back then I used to get some good stuff too. No CSC but some pricey wearables. Now it's just...click on item...it's another copy of a Melody item...scream in agony...get hopes up again...click on next item...it's another Melody item and the cycle continues till the shop closes. xD
I totally understand! I have GAD, so my mind can easily twist just about anything into worst case scenario in about 3 seconds flat. The reason I don't say, "O man, I'd totally buy that if I had the money!" is because I'm always worried that it's going to be annoying to the artist to see a bunch of non-bids, or I don't want to give off the (false) impression that I might ever have the money to buy something like that in the first place, hahah.
I do really enjoy your art, though! And, to be fair, there's also very little I actually know how to work with, so I spend most of my time admiring CWs rather than actually buying and using them.
@Cresenta lol my experience with the free shop exactly!
Lol! There are more of me out there. I feel so at peace now xD
hey there I just wanted to say I DO like your style. I don't want to see you give up! But I personally haven't bought a design from you/anyone since I realized I like commissioning my own ideas a whole lot more - just because, with the whole process I feel more involved rather than just scoring that high when you AB an auction. Also, I prefer casual wears mostly as opposed to formal/dress/fancy/girly clothing, so I haven't seen a whole lot of designs I personally would enjoy releasing nor did I end up slotting on them (sorry) that's just a personal preference tho.
I definitely like the sound of flat rates as opposed to auctions right now, my personal reasons being: i'm canadian/the usd exchange hurts - it hurts even more when you get bid clean out of the auction! - the site hoard/shop drama is really sucking the spirit out of the site, a lot of users are hanging onto their csc as opposed to slotting... and I've noticed how hard it is to gain interest on items and filling initial batches is a constant struggle to which the releasers must be committed to... or things just get shelved = time/money wasted for anyone involved
Personally, I would love to see some recolors of the dunno if that's possible, or if that was a tribute to something but I love the feathered hairs and am totally suggesting more parrot/bird coloring related recolors xD
Designs I would like to see more of are the custom layers I feel are lacking in the sense that there isn't a whole lot of them, like custom hats and custom anklets. Hats are probably tricky as all hell, I know... but if you can get them to fit a few popular wigs I'm sure buyers will swoon/me included.
I dunno what else to say other than I really don't want this site to lose your art. I know I don't reply so often or get to watch your streams but it's been a really busy time for me also and I'm sure you've heard a lot of the same from everyone, but still. I don't want you to be discouraged...I hope I haven't offended you at all, and I hope we can continue this discussion..
I like seeing your stuff. I think the route of doing flat sales may be the best right now, I am noticing lots of other artists doing that with things. I've been releasing for a year now and in that time I have noticed that fewer auction design releases are actually being bid on. There are the exceptions (like the mermaid tail you recently did). But for most part no one is really bidding anywhere. Whenever I participated in an auction I set a price I was willing to go...if the bidding went over it, I didn't buy. OR if the AB went over it, I didn't buy.
Also if other releasers are in the same boat with me, getting things slotted has been tougher lately. So either things are being shelved which we paid money for OR we are pushing them thru on our own so they are costing more money. That is part of my money issues lately too besides IRL junk. I am spending to much money trying to get things onsite. :(
I just wanted to make sure that ppl actually wanted my stuff, if it was just the auction and lack of funds, I can deal with that, I didn't want to feel like it was cuz ppl are more like "meh" about my stuff in general. I'm happy to open commissions, I know many ppl want me to.
I forget about the exchange rate honestly. I know it didn't used to be so bad, but it def isn't so nice to y'all anymore. Stupid US dollar....
That item was a tribute item, yes. It's a HP tribute for the Ravenclaw house. =) I actually have some more HP wigs in store, but none look like that. It's actually not that bad... compared to most of my early cws.... lol. I may consider a recolor, but I'm not sure how many others would be interested, that was a bit hard to slot originally if I remember right. Not a style many prefer.
Another note for flat rate sales tho, that gives me hope. Thanks!
im going to pitch in, from artist to artist!
When we first started doing cws, the pool of buyers / commissioners was much bigger. Auctioning used to be a common thing because there were always a few people with enough funds to buy a luxury (let's admit it, pixels are a luxury!). It kept the wheel turning honestly.
The past year or two though, everything has gone slower. Commissioners used to slot 3-4 batches, sometimes more. Nowadays, it's great to fill 2 batches - many of them only fill one. The pool of cw players seems smaller now, the pool of cw buyers even smaller as a result.
I've tried to math it out last year when I had trouble selling items, and it just turns out that if people bid on an auction, which usually ends up being more costly for them than if it was a flat, they pay more to get a design while still selling less copies than they used to - in this optic, bidding on auction is even more of a risk because you very often lose more than you used to back in the days (in fact, high-ish auctions nowadays are pretty much synonymous to loss of money).
I've had to adjust my prices, most of the things I sell are actually slightly lower than what they used to be 2 years ago. It's a bit counter productive to the idea that 'with improvement comes the price' because you'd think experience = higher prices, but I think the market's just at a stagnant point right now.
That being said, all of it revolves around the cw community and economy in general. Don't take it personal ❤️
Aww bb im sorry your feeling so down. I totally love your art! Sorry I havent caught any of your streams lately, I am super busy and will be for a unknown amount of time. My best friend is dieing so any subeta time I get is a luxury. Im either working, taking care of him, or sleeping (well I give up alot of my sleep time for subeta, should have been in bed 2 hours ago). As others have said slots just arnt really filling either. So I have gotten to the point where I only get things I absolutely need to have, and given into privates which I told myself I would never do. Then with everything im dealing with most of my shopping is stress shopping. I spend way to much on here, my truck that I have had since december I havent made a single payment on. Its not currently a big deal because my friends mom bought it so I could be there to help her more, which I moved from wa to tx to do. Im also terrible at ordering recolors, and have been wanting to order a dark black of the dragon egg with. But im so forgetful these days I just am like..... brain please function so I know what im doing lol. Take care hunnie and when things get more normal with me or I catch a stream and see something I beg you to allow me to buy I will buy again <3 <3
oldie
@ KittenDoll
I'm sorry to hear about your friend. That's amazing that you've sacrificed all that to help them in their final days. I forget about other's troubles sometimes or forget at least that other people have their own issues and things they're dealing with on a day to day basis. Thank you for being so gracious and understanding and I hope things get easier for you. Thank you also, for the gift, totally sweet of you. ❤️~
This item is no longer for sale from this post. Time has expired, sorry. Just wanted to give a shout out to all y'all that were so kind to me to give me some peptalk and reminder that I shouldn't let these things get me down. However, I will let you know, my designs will be slow selling- I'm not going to sell too many at once- simply because of how the market is atm it's less profit for both parties, so I don't want to seem greedy. I'm still gona try to sell some stuff, but prolly not as often as I would otherwise.
That being said! I have a design for sale. This one I know has been rather wanted/popular so because of this, the price is a bit higher than normal. I won't insult anyone by attempting an auction- so the first one that claims it, gets it! CSC is offered, but USD is preferred.

</p>EDIT: Pinging again to see if anyone wants to buy this design from me. I'm going to give it another couple of days. This is a FLAT SALE. If it doesn't sell by Tues 12m SBT, then this will probably be my final attempt to sell my designs.
I'm about ready to quit cws... I swear....
oy I wish I could buy that ._. Whoever buys that, please ping me if you do a red recolor. My RL hair looks like that right now when I curl it xD Just got a hair cut recently
~ I love your stuff.... I bought the Watermelon Vainly Stored Keepsake Dress as soon as I saw it...cuz so pretty.... I only had CSC this month cuz a friend of mine who listed me as her referral...bought like $60-80 of CSC during the double up sale. I know we've talked about collabs.. I have not had the money or time for that. My husband is still job hunting.. and I know I am not the only one struggling, I suspect that has a LOT to do with the slowing of the CW sales...I was amazed mine sold as fast as they did... but not been able to do more at all...I think things will improve when people's finances improve. I want you to keep doing your lovely things.. ALL OF my CW artists... :D
We are the ones who remember, the ones who see what was, and is, and will be.
Me~
Oh my gawd. Whoever buys this, please ping me for slot if you keep it public?
Wow I'm late to this party! HUGS I've always loved your stuff! poke if you'd open commissions I'd gladly hit you up. ^___^ My thinking is in line with 's view of wth is going on in the cw world right now. Gurl you make some beautiful items, so it's def not that. The market is just slow as balls right now. Slotting 1 batch is like pulling teeth sometimes. Slotting 2? LOL As far (haa I added a t at the end of that!) as auctions go..I really never have been down with those. I much prefer flat sales. :) You keep doing your thang hunnie, trust me, we all appreciate great art. :) ❤
ahh i love this a lot and tbh if i was sure that the card i have would work with paypal i'd likely buy it ;A; or might see if i can round up some csc real quick, though i'm sure actual money is preferable!

Great work on the hair! Lovely artwork. Sorry to hear what happened, though. :(
Very lovely wig. I hope someone buys it. Personally veering away from new wig designs at the moment.
Yeah, this is a flat sale cuz the auctions don't really work. My mermaid tail did fine, but nothing else, tho it seems even flat sales aren't selling much either.
I guess we'll see if anyone buys this. Kind of discouraging no one has when it had so much interest on my wip board. But, yeah. That's life. Might end up taking a break from cws for awhile, the market is making me too upset to care to try much more.
Thanks for the kind words. I appreciate it. =)
