Anything legal at this point. I want to get into historical preservation (especially books or art) but I know I will definitely need grad school for that and I just can't afford it at the moment what with all my student loans from my undergrad. I'd go for my masters in a heartbeat if I could. :(

Legal as in law and stuff? Historical preservation sounds pretty cool, though I'm not sure it would quite be my cup of tea. What did you study in undegrad?

History. :)

History itself was my cup of tea starting sometime in high school, though I originally studied molecular and cellular bio when I started college. Took a mental breakdown halfway through my junior year to realize that I wasn't where I should be degree-wise and my advisor let me jump ship over winter break. Finished the entire history degree in a little over a year and a half. Walked at Commencement with the rest of my graduating class and got my diploma a few days ago after finishing up the last six credits over the summer.

My History advisor was actually the one who turned me towards preservation work and I couldn't be more glad she did. Only problem is that if you want to get into preservation work, you need to have either experience or a masters in it, preferably both.

Thank you! I hope so, too! For now, I'm actually looking into my local school system because if I can get in there, my loans have a chance of getting forgiven eventually. Pay won't be fantastic, but it's still something and there's plenty of positions that don't require a teaching degree.
