I'm really annoyed with the people pricing things at 1sp to catch a bunch of auto-pricers so they can go back and buy up the newly undercut stock. Especially when the item should be going for 1,000sp+. I use the low sale price items I get from vending for fragmentization, so I notice when a bunch of my newly priced items are 1sp. Quick shop search and I see several items at 1sp that should be at least 500sp+. I'm remembering why I stopped paying for gold accounts and stopped autopricing in the past.
I'm not gonna lie, I've totally taken advantage of those prices, because I've felt like its the only way to recoup my investment and kind of stick it to the farmer. But from now on I'm buying and sending the item back to the shopowners, it'll be a pain, but I really don't want being part of that system on my conscience.

I got hit by that yesterday. I wondered what had happened when someone started buying all the stuff I posted at 1sp. Lucky I didn't loose much but still.

Wow! I had no idea that anyone would do that on this site. It seems like a sad way to make a few sp. I guess I will have to make sure I pay more attention when I autoprice. I will have to double check anything that pops up at 1sp.
This happened to me a less than a week ago, it was so frustrating
Looked in my shop log, looks like it's happened to me too. Had no idea this was a thing... some sad, sad people out there.
And this is why people should check what they're autopricing before pushing the button.
I've caught this before after I autopriced. It's easier for me to check after since I have a lot of junk in my shop. Most times though I really don't care. The items I do care about what price they sell for I have in another shop that I hand price every so often.
I've mentioned this before but I got annoyed with those who would price a more expensive item (+100k) at 1sp and quickly change it back to a way higher price. They are either trying to catch someone autopricing the item at 1sp so they can buy it or to trick someone into paying the higher price. When I caught on I dumped all but 10sp into my vault and kept trying to buy the item when they placed it at 1sp. Took a couple of minutes of trying but I won that "game" in the end.

It's a good idea, but for someone like me, I can't check the price over 3,000+ items. Guess it's my fault for having such a big shop, ha.
Thanks for writing this thread, it's a good way to warn others, I didn't know about this happening. For people who have big shops, this is what I have been doing- Autoprice, then when it's done quickly go to your shop and sort by lowest price first. If you see any for 1sp check on them in the shop search or just price it at 0 at the time if you're concerned about it being snatched for the wrong price.
People are such wankers, seriously. I hate greed.
This happens so often when I do manage to have a GA. I usually managed to spot the single digit reprice, and un-check it before sending the autoprice through. Then I shop-search one of the items, find the offender, buy up everything that they've priced at 1sP and frag it. Got caught on one or two items that I missed when my shop was really big, but luckily the person who nabbed the 1sP misprice wasn't the fisher, but a friend who warned me what was up.
I've personally put a few things at 1sp with absolutely no intention of trapping anyone else - solely due to the low price of the item itself and that I'd honestly just rather it gone than keep adjusting the price. Never thought about autopricers, though. Think from now on I'll start donating or deleting stuff that I don't want.
Another good way to avoid getting caught by this is to run a ctrl+F after you load in the prices by putting a space before whatever low sp amount you're checking for. I usually check 1-20sp, but I rarely see numbers above 10sp.
I'm happy this thread got some response. Those first couple of days I was kind of worried that maybe this behavior had become "normal."
Thats understandable especially for people without gold accounts, I did that when I didn't have a gold-account (before I started gaming the recycle beast). Now I just donate my unfraggables. But when you see the same user buy up a bunch of unrelated items from your shop that have been undercut this way despite you having a big/huge inventory its a pretty good indicator people are trying to scam.

It's just theft, honestly. People don't mean to put their items at that price. It shouldn't be allowed. Good idea on checking that way, though. I'll definitely start doing that.
Oh yeah, definitely! Sorry if I sounded accusatory or like I thought you guys were lying or anything, haha. Nah I definitely understand. It's a shame some people on this site would do something thats honestly just an asshole move. And with a pretty 'tight-knit' community it's just.. really quite nasty. :/ Such a shame people like that gotta drag down the community.
Not to worry. The little 10 to 50sP items that go out for 1sP are no big deal. it's the people who price 5000 to 10000sP items at 1sP who are generally considered to be scammers.
IDK if you caught someone at it, Screen-shoted their shop when the 1sP items were there, sacrificed a few items and did screen shots of your shop log when they snapped them up and put them in their shop repriced back at full value, staff would likely freeze them for scamming. That's an awful lot of work to punish one low-life, and even if I still had a GA I'm not going to do it..., I suppose that sort of apathy is what they count on though.
This happened to me today. I just warned my roommate that plays as well. It's such a jerk move.
I've been double checking prices since I saw this thread, so thank you for the warning.
When I see something that should be a higher price and it is priced really really low I always check S/S before I price my items.
Just a note that while some people may do this on purpose it can happen by mistake too. If you type "1,000" instead of "1000" for example, the price will show up as 1 sP because the system ignores any characters after the comma.
When I autoprice I quickly scan the items before doing the finally autoprice, but can miss stuff. I always sort by price as soon as I finish autopricing, just to be sure.
