I'm so sorry to hear that! IMHO, one likely reason why the optometrist was acting cagey is to avoid being sued if she claimed it was something and that didn't turn out to be the case. Not only that, it sounds like she doesn't have the equipment necessary in order to give a proper diagnosis. She's most likely just being safe rather than being sorry and doesn't want to cause any unneeded worry but wants to make sure your baby is well taken care of. Hugs and well wishes headed your way!

Thank you for the advice. I truly appreciate your insight. We did manage to get a referral to a few Pediatric opthamologists. We can go to any one of them . . .in January. . . My husband spoke to a couple of the offices and we were given some really good information. We will be getting her checked out then. And sticking with her and her referrals from now on.

, while it seems like that very well could be the case, her tone and body language did say otherwise. She was actually really short and impatient with our daughter. And she did announce all of this in front of her. She didn't ask to speak to us in private away from small ears. My daughter has anxiety to begin with. She heard 'tumor' and was off the charts the past couple days.

Either way it is safe to say we won't be going back after we pick up our daughter's glasses. The medical term she was using in the office and the actual term she wrote as 'diagnosis' on the referral were different. The written 'diagnosis' is the correct one because my husband called the office yesterday again to speak to her and it was the term she noted on her charts. And the opthamologist wants to do their own eye exam anyhow before doing the eye scan. So we'd be paying again for an eye exam and then the scan just so this chop shop doc could "have a picture on HER file so 'nobody panics' when they see her eye." Her words. Not mine. Again, a referral to an adult only opthamologist.

For the record we HAVE used this office before. It's where my husband, myself and our oldest daughter go to get our eyes checked and buy our glasses and contact lenses. The staff has all completely changed since last year. We were pretty shocked when we walked in. We loved the old staff. The doctor was fabulous with our older daughter. She transferred out of state. :(

I shall be around on and off today. Baking halloween cookies for the house and for my oldest to take to her friends tomorrow! Happy Thursday all!!

Sounds like you're on the right track for your daughter to get what she needs now. Hopefully in January there will be nothing to worry about. I'm so sorry that appointment caused your daughter anxiety too. What an unprofessional person you had to deal with!!!

I am having a really great time here, Nik's partner Josh is really a nice person I think they are perfect for each other.
That shot helped me to have a good time without lots of pain. What I have now is very tolerable, I'm SO happy!
I've been helping to make decorations for the wedding, they are making there own food, (Irish) it's just going to be so awesome. I can't wait to take pictures of there special day.
Nik told me that Josh and his family don't like cake!! WHAT????? He married a baker who makes cakes! lol How ironic.
We still have lots to do, Nik wanted me to play guitar on a song he is singing for Josh, we are practicing while Josh is shopping for the rest of the stuff they need.
Well, I better get going, SO MUCH TO DO!!
I'm having the time of my life, it's going to be so hard to say goodbye.... TTYL :)

We had over 60 trick or treaters tonight. Thought it was going to be a slow night as it was pouring rain when they first started coming but it actually turned out to be a nice balmy evening and had as many kids as we usually do. Hope you all enjoyed Morostide as much as I did. Really like the shop where we can get clothes made. Such a novel idea someone's clever mind came up with!

I'm excited to see pictures of the wedding !!!
