Can anyone let me know if like a notice was sent maybe through an event for just people who had braintree points to spend? According to this news post the braintree shop was supposed to close two days ago. Along with that Keith said that a notice would be sent out. Not only that, but I'm sad the shop still didn't have the items that actually needed to be deflated such as the (Which I initially thought wasn't in there because it was PayByCash, but the Frilly Arm Warmers are in there) However, it's good to know they're consistent. I was going to complain that if they released a reminder for a cash shop feature, but didn't for a regular site feature it would certainly feel like unbalanced favoritism towards users who spend money. (Key word unbalanced favoritism because users who spend money should get a certain level of favoritsm.) That being said, it looks like the shop is still up past when it was meant to be removed? That's a little disappointing.

I haven't received a newsletter in ages - might even be a year?!
- I've just contacted some people about this - unfortunately Keith has been sick the past week and this one slipped by us before he could pass the reins over. It should be worked on later tonight, thank you for your patience.
(did pinging by ids get fixed or did this go through? just in case this was fixed, wanted to test it out) what did ever happen to the newsletter? it just kept getting postponed then the thought of it was scrapped?
it was canceled I think, the newsletter item, the Weather Worn Hat Beanbag, was given as a free gift :)
ah is that what the gift was going to be? that's good to know. all I ever heard was someone was investigating putting a newsletter out, then it just never did. I kinda wish we got more frequent newsletters than once every couple years, it's nice seeing them.
yes it was going to be this gift, I think they had some problems with releasing the newsletter so they postponed it until it was too late..
that makes sense. hopefully the newsletters eventually get fixed and we get them semiregularly. I think it is good to maybe bring back some inactive members who check them out and see the new stuff that happened.
you are right, I would be happy to see every season, 4 times a year could be nice :)

So, I don't want to make a new topic since this is actually still within the 3 month period, but I do want to comment on my appreciation for a newsletter finally making it's way out.
First off, I want to say that it's 6 months late. I don't want to call anyone out on it, but I don't want to excuse it. I mean, in a sense the newsletter isn't really in anyone's interest except Subeta's. But yeah, I'm really really hoping this is one of many already written out and planned newsletters because a wait of this long for a temporary bandage doesn't seem very useful. I'm sorry to ping, but is there any update or hope that newsletters will be a seasonal thing?
Secondly, I'm sad there was no mention of the new baking feature. D: Glad that the seasonal stock of Millionaire Center and Quest Shop were mentioned, but sad that Elwood's revamp was the opening line since he still doesn't have too much of a part on Subeta. But since the free newsletter item were cookies it would have been a perfect way to tie in the new feature.
Lastly, just keep working hard. You can't change the past and make up for all the promises made that were never fulfilled. It was actually really great that I don't think there was any mention of a newsletter this time because I'm sure I would be complaining right now about it coming too late to tell people about Cadogres and Endeavors. But yeah, everything seems to be a little more organized now and I'm looking forward to the future, especially if this new "ant spray" pet sheds a lot more light on Shengui Guo.

We didn't get a newsletter out when we originally planned because the way we used to do newsletter was no longer available (along with other issues unfortunately!). We've set up a new system that allows and I to do a lot more (like emailing users with more than just newsletters if the need rises) without needing programmer to be around. Our intention is to do it more seasonally than in the past, yes. That's why we focused on spring related things in this newsletter. In April and May, you'll notice quite a few things we hinted at within the newsletter. :)
Coming in to second what said - but sending out 10,000+ emails is hard. Sending them out in a way that doesn't immediately go into gmail spam folders (because you're sending out 10,000+ mostly going to gmail) is harder. Making sure that you keep track of who has opted in to what is even harder.
We've been looking to solutions to this outside of rolling our own, or using something like MailChimp which requires people to opt-in to newsletters (not popular - the majority of users wouldn't actually do this and then we aren't really reaching the goal of reminding people who haven't been around in awhile of what is going on / subeta exists). Rolling our own is what we've done in the past and you've seen the results - sometimes people get 2-3 of the same newsletter and frequently people get none.
Instead we've slowly been working this kind of data into systems to see how they work out. We've tested a lot of newsletter sites over the past few months (I've got hundreds of TEST emails in my inbox :P) and we've settled on the one that we sent out today because it's a suite of tools that will work well with our future goals (replacing parts of the site like the ticketing system with a more robust and immediate solution) and fingers crossed it actually sends out to most users and goes into the correct places. It's great because it includes tracking on things like where people click, so we can see what works and what doesn't going forward :)
tldr: There was a huge delay, we were working really hard on finding a good solution and have hopefully settled on one for going forward.
