You have to get an ACTUAL sea shell. I got several items before I was given a comb shell or whatever, and that worked fine.

Well now I'm stuck at the Crypts step since it's a 1 hour wait between attempts. Yuck. Wish they would decrease the time like they did with the carnival games for a plot in the past.

Bluff's rules have never made any sense. They're written as if they're for someone who already knows every nuance and just needs a refresher, rather than for someone who is brand new to cheat/BS games and has no idea where to even start.

Also? The "1s are wild" thing just messes up the logical flow of this kind of game. With cheat/BS, all you have to do is count cards and keep track of where all 4 of each card is. Since 1s are wilds, the NPC can safely bid as much as it wants. The player has to take an excessive amount of risk guessing whether that "four 5s" bid is bluffing or if the unknown amount of 1s are going to make it so there's actually more 5s on the table. The game is severely stacked in the NPC's favor, just like a real carnival game. (which is fine... except when a limited time prize is gated behind it.*)

edit: I did finally manage to win after watching the 1s closely, but I still feel I got very lucky because I'd had games where doing that still ended up in a loss.

*and yes, I know, we have two weeks and we'll probably see the items elsewhere! That doesn't erase the irritated anxiety that comes from being expected to win something with a high probability of loss within a limited time frame.

I have no problem with Bluff, I play all the time. But can't get past the stupid Crypts step because of the long wait time. Now I'll have to wait until tomorrow to try.

I have tried that. I started again by going to the hustler then to cinthia but I still get no dialogue. I dont know what to do... I am gonna try it again.

Is there a step I'm missing in between picking up my tenth piece and trying to claim the eleventh? None of the other steps work after the Mage either.

Did you go back to the crypts after you got the map piece there? You have to go back to Blake after you find it.

I've been stuck at the crypts for hours now. I've tried 6 or 7 times and it won't let me get past the first room every time. Amazing.

Thanks for the guide! I understood the basic gist of the game, but the rules are worded so vaguely that I wasn't entirely sure if I was supposed to be betting on just one set of dice or both.

I wish there wasn't a 12 minute cooldown. Bluff actually seems like a pretty fun game now that I understand what I'm supposed to be doing! :D
