after Calvin sent me to the Arctic Frost, I clicked on the snowball catapult and got "Interesting. Seems to be pointed directly at the ice fields."

Ice Fields gives me this text (plus a map piece): "You’re feeling very cold all of a sudden. Maybe there’s a nice fireplace nearby to warm yourself up by."

You simply have to go to Ice Fields, no need to navigate through it
