I have a couple of characters that need art about equally as much and one character that would need art more than the others but would be very dark and nightmareish. Would you like to choose yourself or should I pick a character? c:

Can you make his head/face and body and horns a bit more thick? Especially his head, in the subeta version you can see he has a bit more fluff and is overall thicker and more lion body type like. And, can the feathers be, loosely hanging down instead of sticking out?

That looks so amazing already! It looks really creepy, I love it! The Nightmare Noktoa is really one of my favorite Noktoas because it's creepy in such a cool way! But it feels so much harder to make a dark character somehow v_v

Great! I'm really getting an almost goblin-like nightmareish vibe from him personally - he's going to be a lot of fun to work on! Ha-ha, we seem to have opposite problematics! I love working with creepy characters, and a large portion of my pets are twisted or disturbed in some way. My problem is... owls. How to owl. I have 40+ pets & only one fits as an owl, but that'd have to be the glacier one (assuming it looks right). So... no NM owls for me. D;;; d: Anyway, do you have an idea for him yet? Story-wise, I mean?

I can definitely make it more of a black blob/shadow if you prefer, but I thought the red lighting did well for the creepy-factor. Let me know either way! o: (Also, lot is yours in any case.)

I have a few ideas like basing the character of either the god of doom or death or the Strix from Greek mythology. I've also thought of him being worshipped as a god of death even though he isn't which would turn him into what he is but I fear that this would be too close to my pet Riftborn who becomes a monster because it's expected of them.. About half of my characters are owls and I usually give my character that mostly have a human form an owl form XD

I really love it and somehow I'm a bit torn about the color. But desaturating it in photoshop didn't really help. I think this might just be because I didn't expect it to be red maybe? I guess I should just sleep over it and look at it again tomorrow?^^ But I really love the way you drew the feathers, that looks amazing! And the pose makes it looks so creepy and I love the claws, too! And could you make the final version transparent so I can integrate it into a layout more easily?^^

;; All those ideas sound really neat - especially that last one, though I do see your concerns regarding how it might be a bit too similar to your other pet. (It could make for quite a funny story as well, if the owl has no idea what the heck is going on or why the humans keep going crazy when he drops by to feed on their mice...) In any case I hope you find an idea to which you can settle comfortably! Oh, most of my characters are humans too, they're just not very... owl-y, personality-wise. I'm one of those [weaklings] who ends up with too many elegant/pretty pets, like legeicas & festers & demis & paralix & old-school montres, not to mention my hoard of NM pets. :V

Yeah, simply desaturating it won't work, you have to work with the layer styles. I already had that theoretically covered though, which is why I said it would be fine if you wanted me to turn him into a black blob instead. d: I've got three versions of him for you ( here ), two of which are different shades of dark, depending on which kind of background you want to slap him on. I have to note that these are specifically made for dark backgrounds, so if you put him on a pure-white backdrop the contrast/strain will probably burn your eyes (this is why the preview is on a dark background, though your files are all transparent). ;; Thanks! :'D A rough would be a would be a fullbody (if not otherwise requested) version of this sort of thing, so a roughly coloured sketch, probably with a limited palette. Basically just a cheaper, quicker, and more relaxed version of normal pieces, ha-ha (:

Character Name: Bocksten Man (unknown real name) Character Ref: Hereyouare the Bocksten Man! He's a bog body of XIVth century, and (I don't know why) he has become like a mascotte for me (I'm a re-enactor of his period). I'm quite fond of his history and it touches me a lot. ...yes, it's an hairy skeleton, allright. With a medieval outfit and shiny gold locks. For body refs, there are pictures of his clothings (yes, the body was found in a swamp and it's the best preserved in Europe): 1, 2, 3. And for hair, there's a facial reconstruction, but I really prefer him like a skull with hair, as it is nowadays. Colour?: artistic freedom, of course! Other Info: Feel free to play with his "expression": it's a skull, allright, but also skulls have feelings :P he's vain ("ooooh, look at my gorgeous shiny hair!! I'm 700 years old but I'm soooo cool.
